Dancing is surely the most basic and relevant of all forms of expression. Nothing else can so effectively give outward form to an inner experience. Heya people, this is Shambhavi. Hope u all are having a great day. So I am here to share my journey but I have not completed it yet and I am still learning. So I am going to share some of my life experiences with you. Im not a professional dancer, but I love dancing. It gives me ways to express myself. So I have been dancing since childhood ,I love it so much... According to me it is the best way to express yourself. I shifted to Lucknow in 2007 with my family and I studied in Mount Carmel College and Im still studying. I have made a lot of amazing memories with my friends, also took part in some dance performances at school... As we know school days are the best days!! When I came to Lucknow, I got to know about Amrit Sir a professional and amazing dancer. I learnt bharatnatyam for 5 years and Im doing my 6th year now.It was because of him that I gained so much confidence in myself. He always supported me through everything and gave me many opportunities to prove myself in front of others, it was because of him that I developed my love for dancing and got to learn about so much new. I also got an amazing opportunity to meet Maam Saroj Khan and perform in front of her, it was an amazing experience. I also got a chance to meet Terence Sir and Javed Jaffery Sir in the auditions of CHAK DHOOM DHOOM and this was all possible because of my guru @amrit_danceuse , so thank you sir for always being there. Im a kind of person who can dance anytime anywhere, say its in public or Im alone. I keep dancing and jumping around my house and I also have broken many stuffs around my house(daant padti hai phir mummy se..lol) but on a serious note I was very shy to dance in front of someone but now I have gained a lot of confidence in myself. So, there is nothing so inspiring but if u really put your heart and soul into something you will crave to do it more and more and you will love it, thats all. Meet Captain Shalini, she was 18, pursuing her first year of graduation when she got married with an army officer, Major Avinash Singh Bhadauria. At 23, she was an army widow, left to fend on her own with her two-year-old son. She quit her post-graduation course midway to prepare for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. In December 2001, three months after she had lost Avinash, she was called for a week-long interview at SSB, Allahabad. She got selection and posted in remote locations for months at a stretch. In March 2002, Shalini meticulously trained for six months at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), in Chennai. On September 7, 2002, within a year of her husband’s demise, only just three weeks away from Major Avinash’s first death anniversary, Shalini was a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army. “Walking up to the podium, clad in her uniform to receive her husband’s Kirti Chakra (Second Highest Peacetime Gallantry Award) from former Late President APJ Abdul Kalam was the proudest moment of my life.” Capt Shalini dedicatedly served the country for five years and broke the glass ceiling as a single mother working in a male-dominated environment. But if you think her story ends here, it doesn’t. The following is a part which she confesses she’s never talked about at length to anyone. In 2008, she remarried. But the marriage was not successful. In 2009, she met with a road accident in Bikaner that left her bedridden for a year. She had suffered 17 fractures, her left leg was broken, and her right one was severely damaged. Doctors had shared their apprehensions of her being able to walk normally again But Shalini would not give up. It took her a year to stand, and today, she runs marathons and goes out for 10 km runs, every alternate day. She moved on to become the only Indian to participate in an international pageant in the single parent category in Las Vegas where she was crowned Ms India earth warrior. 👉 A very long post alert!!! 48-63-48 Wasnt an easy transformation. Durin Oct 2008, I weighed 48 Kgs. After goin through a complete cycle of womenhood as every other women & becomin a mother of 2kids, had hit 63 kgs during Oct 2017. Being an IT professional for 9yrs, wid a sudden break 2my career was a tough phase of life. Those were d days, I was also going through depression. Life 4me then was meaningless. Apart from taking care of my family & baby sitting of my 2yr old child, had nothin else 2think abt or do 4myself. I desperately wanted a major change in my life 2overcome dis. Considerin my hubbys suggestion. I decided 2take up a 12weeks online weight loss program durin Jan 2018, a yr tht gave me a new life. It wasnt at all easy 2start wid. I was provided wid a diet chart 2be followed 4these12weeks. Though d chart had minor changes every week, but a must say it was really really tough 2follow, as it was completely different frm wht we consume on daily basis. I had 2cook seperately 4myself and spare an additional 1.5hrs 4my daily wrkouts. Time didnt even allow me 2join gym. I started doin regular walks & home workouts. Durin d 1st 2weeks I almost cried 2eat my diet. I felt puikish & literally hated wht I was eatin. Durin d 2nd week, I wanted 2give up irrespective of whtever amount I had paid. But, I challenged myself & started workin towards my goal. As Days & weeks passed by. I started seein d changes in my measurements & d weight. All my clothes started 2become loose & people started noticin d changes in my appearance. Tht motivated me more & more 2reach my destination. At d end of 12th week, I finally reached my goal to 50kgs. There are no words 2 express d happiness wat I got when I reached here. Its beyond words & nythin else. My daily workouts & protein intake has bcum a part of my routine. At present Im 48kgs. Im proud of myself, 4 wht Ive achieved. Theres nothin impossible in dis world, especially 2all d married women & mothers. Age shouldnt limit u nor its too late 2 achieve somethin. Nothin can be achieved easily. “ Sacrifice for what you want or what you want becomes the sacrifice” Hey, my name is Palak Bhatnagar and I’m a self taught makeup artist from Lucknow. The word self itself has a deeper meaning, it implies that someone is not born with a talent but with immense determination one can acquire it later in life. My journey has just begun but let me tell you that it hasn’t been easy, like every other person even I had my struggles. Struggles related to choosing the right path for myself, struggles related to my career, struggles related to the rejections I faced and what not. I always wanted to be a fashion designer, gave my entrance exams and cleared some top design colleges but there were certain circumstances because of which I couldn’t join my dream college and therefore decided to do BBA after being poked by family & friends which was completely out of my league as I was a humanities student. I lost touch with my skills and designing was no more my passion, I was depressed and losing hope constantly when I joined a painting class where I created beautiful acrylics which motivated me to keep doing something creative and in the end combine my painting skills along with makeup. Yeah you heard it right, painting skills with makeup, I do face paintings, drag, prosthetics, bling, you name it. I learned all of this through YouTube, some makeup gurus and Tv shows, it inspired me to do something creative with my basic makeup skills because for me basic is boring. Being a BBA student and being completely out of place didn’t stop me from working on what I loved and was most passionate about, all I needed was that one push of motivation which I got from my friends and of course my mom- who inspires me everyday to work on what I love just like her as now she’s a successful home baker breaking all stereotypes and balancing home and work like a boss lady.
