It’s been a long journey and we finally made it. Meet Robin Jesse. Born at home June 16, 2020. Robin arrived sunny side up to quite the welcoming committee: Cheryl the midwife, her assistant Rachel, Aunt Jenna and Alexa, big siblings Jude and Neola, Sally the doula, Dad, and Mom. Robin holds the weight record on both sides of the family so far at 8lbs 12oz and was 21.5 inches long. Both of us are doing great. Our friends and family have been showering us with love, supplies, and support and we’re so grateful for all of you, especially during these strange and uncertain times. A special shout out to @yenmcdonald for arriving two and a half weeks early to help out with the big kids, dishes, and everything in between. And to her partner Alexa @amdrou for traveling here to help her/us out. you see, I tried telling ya. the problem here is your snare.. its quite literally crap. well maybe its not YOUR snare, but the snare she tells you not to worry about. So it could be only the start of an even worse problem. still, early days yet so its hard to tell. Now, what I would prescribe for now is a steady intake of sample packs and for the more severe cases, complete drum replacement therapy. but what would I know? Im hardly a doctor. I mean I do have SOME experience of the problem though, back in the 80s I had a rather acute case of the snare envy. But Im totally recovered these days, of course. Now, the doctors in those days were harsh and the treatments were brutal, I was recommended a residential retreat and they locked me up with only bread, water and an akai to scour the crates for lost breakdowns, and with only 9 seconds permitted, choices had to be made quick - so thats been improved at least. little chinks of light. a spark in the darkness. well thats what keeps us all going and coincidentally also what I end up adding to my snares. take two bottles into the shower? not me! now I just Snare & Go™ how bout u ? - @bennyill91 on Instagram

Iranian artists @icyandsot recently took off on another self-initiated mission, inspired by climate activist Greta Thunbergs work and the worldwide environmental movement she has started. Using the vast Californian desert landscape as a dramatic backdrop for their work and activists impactful speech as an alarming wake-up call, Saman and Sasan Oskouei created a riveting video titled Our House is on Fire. ⠀ ⠀ I want you to panic. I want you to act as if your house was on fire. @gretathunberg ⠀ ⠀ In some way turning Gretas inspiring words into poetic reality, Icy and Sot built a frame of an archetypal home and set it on fire. Allowing for the untouched surrounding nature to be seen between the blazing framework of the house, the artists suggest looking at the wider picture in which the Earth is our only home. The video shows the reversed footage of their installation being swallowed by flames and crumbling to the ground, creating an illusion of burning pieces of wood rising up and forming the familiar structure.
