La foto fue tomada antes de que algunos de ellos fueran trasladados al museo de La Plata como objetos de estudio. Los sobrevivientes de la llamada “Conquista del Desierto”, fueron arriados a pie 1.400 kilómetros, desde los confines cordilleranos hasta Buenos Aires. Al llegar, hombres mujeres y niños fueron obligados a desfilar encadenados por las calles en un siniestro y vergonzoso “desfile de la victoria”. Desde el puerto, los vencidos, fueron trasladados al campo de concentración en la isla Martín García y “depositados” en el Hotel de Inmigrantes, donde la clase dirigente de la época se dispuso a repartirse el botín, según lo cuenta el diario El Nacional que titulaba: “Entrega de indios”: Los miércoles y los viernes se efectuará la entrega de indios y chinas a las familias de esta ciudad, por medio de la Sociedad de Beneficencia”. Il puise pas mal de réflexes ou de gestes dans le style Nkurunziza : des références à Dieu et aux versets bibliques dans ses discours, à l’organisation de croisades d’actions de grâce, en passant par des images du président et de sa famille dans les travaux champêtres. A foto publicada na Capa do Jornal @folhadespaulo em que médicas de Fortaleza xingavam e ofendiam o Médico Cubano Juan Delgado chamando-o de “Escravo”, circulou o Brasil e sua repercussão fez pelo “Mais Médicos” e a vinda dos profissionais de saúde estrangeiros mais do que qualquer campanha em horário nobre da TV poderia fazer. Quando uma foto sua repercute, muda o debate e a História… Meses depois Juan Delgado foi recebido e homenageado pela Presidente Dilma Rousseff. . Protests against Racism spread across the world. It’s #FishermanFriday and today we’re meeting Andrew Pascoe, hake fisherman, Newlyn. An MSC certified fishery. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Pascoe’s - grandfather Denys, father Andrew and son Tom - are three generations of fishermen from an MSC certified fishery in Newlyn. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Andrew and Tom both started fishing with their fathers when they left school. For Andrew, that was nearly 35 years ago. As Andrew explains: “it sounds romantic, but fishing is all I knew – so it was a natural step for me to get into it.” For the three fishermen, fishing sustainably is vital to their livelihoods, and ensures that the next generation of Pascoe’s can continue the family tradition. Andrew owns Cornish hake vessel, the Ajax PZ36, which is part of the certified sustainable Cornish hake fishery. In order to be part of an MSC certified fishery, his vessel, and the others in the fleet, have to make sure enough hake are left in the seas for the population to be healthy. The Hans Foundation along with Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) has been providing the best healthcare services in the remote and underserved regions of Sundarbans Island through the boat clinics. This lifeline boat project provides primary healthcare and diagnostic services free of charge to more than 10,000 people in a year. One such beneficiary who was helped by the boat clinic service is Ms. Kanakalata Mondal, 70 years old widow, a resident of Gangapur village, Sundarbans, West Bengal. Ms. Kanakalata has been struggling with health issues that were not attended to by her family. After being treated, she said “I feel healthy and energetic these days. આજે પૂજ્ય બાપુની 151મી જન્મજયંતી નિમિત્તે ગુજરાતની તમામ જનતા વતી ભાવપૂર્ણ શ્રદ્ધા સુમન અર્પણ કરું છું. મહાત્મા ગાંધીએ હંમેશાં ‘સ્વ’ નો નહીં, સમષ્ટિનો વિચાર કર્યો અને તેથી જ તેઓ વ્યક્તિ નહિ સ્વયં એક વિદ્યાપીઠ છે. ગાંધીજીના સત્ય, અહિંસા, સત્યાગ્રહ, સ્વચ્છતા, સ્વાવલંબન, સ્વદેશી અને ગ્રામ રાજ્યથી રામરાજ્યના વિચારો સનાતન છે. આજે 151 વર્ષ પછી પણ પૂજ્ય બાપુનાં વિચારો પ્રસ્તુત છે. પૂજ્ય બાપુની કરણી અને કથનીમાં કોઈ તફાવત ન હતો એટલે જ તેમણે સત્યના પ્રયોગો દ્વારા પોતાનું જીવન જેવું છે તેવુ ‘ મારું જીવન એજ મારો સંદેશ ’ ના ભાવથી આપણી સમક્ષ મૂક્યું છે. બાપુએ ક્યાંય કોઈ સત્તાનો મોહ ન રાખ્યો એ સત્તાથી જોજનો દુર રહ્યા અને દેશ માટે સદાસર્વદા “ત્યેન ત્યકતેન ભૂંજિથા” ભાવથી સમર્પિત રહ્યા એ જ તેમને વિશ્વમાનવ બનાવે છે. - @vijayrupanibjp on Instagram

#PortPeople: Inez (32) is a lecturer Nautical Sciences at the @antwerpmaritimeacademy, where she teaches safety courses to freshmen. Every maritime student must master a set of survival skills at sea before they are allowed to sail any kind of 🚢. We actually bumped into Inez during a firefighting excercise with her students 👩‍🚒. Aside from safety, she also teaches ECDIS (aka electronical map navigation) to sophomores: what should students pay attention to when sailing? And what are the dangers? Inez has years of practical experience herself. As a Master in Maritime and Transport law she started her impressive career on a chemical tanker 😮 A period she describes as very intense, as it meant a continuous series of two months of sailing vs. two months at home. She also worked offshore on seagoing vessels that install pipelines on the seabed. These type of ships, with 400 employees on board, can pretty much be considered a floating factory. After nearly 10 years of sailing adventures, life brought her back to where it all begin: the Antwerp Maritime Academy 🏫. As a lecturer, Inez is very passionate about providing our youth with the very best maritime education there is. Over the last 48 hours MMF has given a lot of thought to our upcoming golf outing scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th. The weather forecasts have not been favorable from a variety of sources. This coupled with the possibility of a waterlogged golf course, the comfort of our guests and the ongoing concerns for COVID-19, we have decided to reschedule the event.
