After deliberations we have decided not to open the garden and sales house this year. The restrictions may change at any time and after having to cancel our April sale it just seems like waiting is the best option. Hier haben wir von der Agenda #Josefstadt ein paar Tipps von unseren GemeinschaftsgärtnerInnen, die wir gerne #teilen: *** Im Nutzgarten *** Ernten, ernten, ernten! Zucchini, Gurken,… nicht zu groß werden lassen. Lauch anhäufeln. Sellerieknollen hingegen etwas freilegen, dann wachsen sie besser. Paradeiser und andere stark zehrende Gemüse, mit schnell wirkendem Dünger wie Brennnesseljauche versorgen, Stabparadeiser über dem 5. oder 6. Blütenstand kappen, bei feuchtem Wetter nur mäßig gießen. Spätes Gemüse aussäen: Herbstsalaten (Pflücksalate, Eissalat, Endivien,…) , Karfiol, Kohlrabi, Spitzkohl, Spinat, Feldsalat, Radieschen, Rettich,… Petersilie wächst jetzt besonders gut und ist im Frühling stark und kräftig. Gründünger auf leeren Beeten aussäen z.B. Bohnen oder Inkarnat-Klee. Als schützende Winterdecke eignen sich #Bienenfreund, Vogerlsalat und Winterwicke. Beerensträucher nach der #Ernte schneiden. Himbeeren nur die tragenden Triebe bodennah schneiden. ***** Es leben die Nützlinge **** Alles was blüht, blühen lassen. Nicht jäten. Hummeln und #Bienen brauchen dringend Blüten als Futter für den Winter. Verblühte Rosen NICHT entfernen, daraus werden Hagebutten für die Tiere als Winterfutter. Κάποια από αυτά είναι ιδανικά και να τα επισκεφτείς εκτός καλοκαιριού όπως, η Αρναία, ο Παρθενώνας ( εκεί θα απολαύσεις και το καλύτερο ηλιοβασίλεμα ever) και η παλιά νικητή που αυτή θα δεις στις φωτογραφίες Η νικητή είναι γνωστή για το κομμάτι της με τα μαγαζιά το ένα δίπλα στο άλλο πλάι στο κύμα. Σε πέντε λεπτά απόσταση όμως με το αμάξι ανεβαίνοντας πιο ψηλά είναι η παλιά νικητή. Ένα πανέμορφο παραδοσιακό κομμάτι βγαλμένο από άλλη εποχή που αν βρεθείς εκεί θες να παρατηρήσεις κάθε πόρτα, κάθε λουλούδι στις αυλές κάθε δρομάκι. Then i got up and told them again, that I booked in advance, and since we were party of four it would be unfair to have a small table. They then supplied us with a bigger table later apologising, as it was a booking and not a walk in, and if it were we would’ve been content with the small table. I would’ve expected better as it is a high end cafe, and since a booking was made beforehand I would expect my table to be ready and reserved before I arrive. Every Tuesday we are going to feature a tree from our Adopt A Tree Campaign. This week we are focusing on a pair of Japanese Snow Bell Trees (𝘚𝘵𝘺𝘳𝘢𝘹 𝘫𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴) located at the front of the Wagner House. The graceful spreading branches of a pair of Japanese snowbell trees overhang the French Hunter and Gather sculptures to perfume the forecourt in late spring. The blossoms of these small deciduous trees are pendulous clusters of ¾” waxy, white bells and the foliage is glossy green and upward facing, which better allows the flowers to show from a distance. Greenish-brown olive-shaped fleshy fruits follow the flowers. These trees were likely planted at the time of the redesign of the parking area in front of the house in the 1960s. Recently, my mom and I took an afternoon walk to enjoy the solitude of the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary in West Houston. This hardwood and pine forest with its freshwater habitats provides an urban refuge for native plants and wildlife. Rummel Creek runs through the 17.5-acre wooded preserve. The 1932 Moore Log Cabin is a center that offers environmental education for people of all ages, and serves as the Houston Audubon headquarters. While we only saw turtles during our short visit, the sanctuary’s creek and ponds also serve as home to bull frogs, bronze and leopard frogs, water snakes, and aquatic invertebrates. What I found especially interesting is the story about Moore herself. Edith Lotz was a bacteriologist who moved to Houston from Minnesota as a single woman in 1918 to work at Camp Logan during the flu epidemic. There, she met Jesse Moore, a milk inspector, and married him in 1921. After living some time in the Memorial area, they moved to the site of what is now the sanctuary and what was then, the countryside in 1931. GIARDINI LA MORTELLA 🌷🌼🌺🌴 La Mortella è lo straordinario giardino creato da Susana Walton, moglie di Sir William Walton, uno dei più grandi compositori inglesi del ventesimo secolo. I due si incontrarono e sposarono dopo pochi giorni in Argentina. I Walton scelsero di vivere a Ischia, nella proprietà da loro creata e fatta crescere, La Mortella, e dove le ceneri di William sono oggi custodite. Questo fantastico giardino si deve interamente a Lady Walton, che per più di 50 anni ha dedicato la sua leggendaria energia e la sua passione e competenza botanica a questo progetto. Nel giardino, ora aperto al pubblico, si trovano collezioni di piante originarie di diversi paesi, come felci arboree dal continente Australe, protee e aloe dal Sudafrica, yucche e agavi dal Messico, e poi magnolie, bauhinie, palme, cicadacee. In dialetto napoletano “mortella” è il nome del “mirto divino” o Myrtus communis. In aprile, maggio, giugno, settembre e ottobre ogni sabato e domenica si svolgono concerti nella Sala Recite che, nei mesi di luglio e agosto, si trasferiscono al Teatro Greco. For us – the concept of memory boxes has been synonymous to privacy. It’s an emotion and feeling that exists only in your heart. 🌸 This unplanned collection was a result of a visit paid to us by some extremely talented woodworkers from Auroville. 天川村の龍泉寺にて水行。 写真、少年みたいですがわたくしです笑 2020年は変革の年。 変わらないといけない年。 手放し削ぎ落としの年。 一瞬にして自分が変わる“点”を感じる不思議な体験ができました。 見た目以上に、水が当たる体感は強く、はじめは息が詰まって恐怖すらありました。 ご住職の般若心経が聞こえ、自分の息に意識を向けることができました。 その後、ご真言が終わる頃、ラスト10秒ほど前、 自分でも驚くほど体の中の変化があり 力を抜いて自分と繋がり、 自然と繋がった感覚がありました。 あの短い3分くらいの間に、自分の感覚がこれまで変化していくのを感じた体験は初めてでした。 2020年は変わらないといけない年。 いよいよ大詰めのような感覚があります。 変わりたい人は、 龍泉寺で水行を受けてみられることをすごくお勧めします。 そして水行の後は、八大龍王堂でお参りされることをお勧めします。 衣類に関して、滝の横に更衣室があり、白衣は貸してくださいます。 私は白衣の下は下着です。 替えの下着とタオルを持参すればどなたでも受けることができます。 10月ごろまでに是非！ #天川 #tenkawa #龍泉寺 @tenkawa_photo - @yoshie.816 on Instagram

This morning we went foraging along the canal and came across a swathe of feather grass (it could possibly be a variety of pampas grass but we are not sure, so if any one of you familiar with this grass please let us know). Initial idea was to use it just as it is but it would have been futile to replicate its natural form no matter how hard we tried. Invariably, while traveling about Miami, we will see multiple signs in front of condo and apartment buildings stating “If you lived here you would be home now”. Each time we see one we reflect on how lucky we are to be able to “come home” to Nature instead of a concrete edifice. We are eternally grateful to be “one with Nature” while also being “Home”. The first pic is the hand-hammered front gate supported by two massive original brick columns. The second pic shows one of the interior moss covered roads with old growth tropical trees surrounding the main entrance roadway in pic 3. Pic 4 shows the main entrance with gate open. A new view 🤩 This weekend my two friends have picked me up and taken me to the countryside for an ‘Exclusive Hen’ to rest and restore! So needed! Covid really came to done everyone’s plans and as a Bride to be it has sucked the joy out of what was hoped to be a year of togetherness and celebrations. The @ReggiadiCaserta Gardens in Caserta 🇮🇹 share with us some of its history: Travelling to Naples, between 1789-90, the Earl Carlo Gastone Gaetano Della Torre di Rezzonico (1742-1796) was impressed by the Reggia’s English Garden. Its description, posthumously published in 1819, depicted a charming green space, organized as a true botanic garden: «a series of wooden labels kept the plants’ Latin names». L’ÉGLISE CACHÉE SAINT-JACQUES MENACÉE… ⛪️ UNE ÉGLISE OUBLIÉE Cette Église “oubliée” est quasiment invisible de l’extérieur de la rue Mirail. Elle n’a jamais fait l’objet d’une protection des autorités bien que, depuis que le COLLECTIF 1120 porté par l’universitaire Guilhem Pépin, ait fait changer les positions de la DRAC (Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles) notamment. CHARGÉE D’HISTOIRE… Passé de l’état d’hôpital à église, puis de théâtre à simple parking, ce monument est aujourd’hui clairement menacé. Pas seulement par l’érosion du temps mais aussi par des promoteurs qui ne voient en cet édifice qu’un terrain parfaitement placé au cœur de notre ville. Cet édifice érigé en 1120 fut créé pour être une Hospitalité et ce n’est qu’au XVᵉ siècle qu’il est devenu une église. Bon nombre de ses secrets n’ont pas encore été révélé… Mais nous sommes sur le coup !
