Gestern einen Spanauffangkasten (oder wie man das auch immer nennt 😜) für die Kappsäge gebaut. Mir ging das immer auf den 🍪 wenn sich trotz Absaugung überall rund um die Kappsäge die Späne verteilen. Also musste ein Kasten her der sich hinten um die Kappsäge schmiegt. Bei meiner Säge muss ich ein Loch für den Führungszug einbauen. Das habe ich so klein wie möglich gehalten und das Stromkabel kann auch dadurch weggeführt werden. Habe alles aus 9mm Multiplex gebaut um es leicht und trotzdem stabil zu haben. Innen alles abgeschliffen und die Kanten mit der Fräse bearbeitet. Was nach nicht viel aussieht hat ein paar Stunden gedauert 😅 Bin aber zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis und nun werden die überschüssigen Späne gut aufgefangen und verteilen sich nicht mehr überall. I spent yesterday in Chattanooga at a spoon 🥄 carving event that my friend Michael of #earth_for_learing and I road down to. Brian of #tenneseespoon hosted the gathering. I took more pictures I thought but when I was looking for them to post all I had was these few that Michael took. Brian was gracious and took me through his methods of spoon carving for which Im very greatfull. He is one of the best at spoon carving I know. When we get to the point that we cant learn from someone who is better at something that we are then your to proud and arrogant and you can become stagnant in your growth in life and skills. How would you have done it? • • If youve seen @nsbuilders most recent post, youd know that @patrick__mcpherson and I have been working on the stairs for this monostringer. • • @theothernick.nsb goal was to have the tread sit in such a way that the stringer would basically split the miter. The only problem with that was that the treads were already preassembled (with the exception of the bottom). We made a jig that would allow us to route the miter and the rounded corners all in one shot. I think they came out 👌 but would love to know if anyone had a different way to do it! • Edit: Just to get ahead of this question, yes that gap against the steel is intentional. And we get it all the time...☺️ This wood is antique material that our forefathers cut down by hand, transported and squared up by hand... BY HAND. It’s so easy for us to take for granted all the tools and equipment that are at our disposal today.... while it is still very time consuming for us, it’s nothing near what they did on a daily basis. We respect the hell out of that! This material is dismantled piece by piece, careful to keep the integrity of the wood. It is then cauled, graded, and bundled in anticipation of hauling. Once shipped to our location and off loaded, we then have to sort, de-nail, powerwash, brush, treat and possibly mill the material prior to the customer receiving it. Labor intensive....Well worth it for this end result, but none the less, labor intensive. We honestly can’t think of anything better than what we do! Experimented with a new (for me) technique of wood framework and joints. I made a bunch of various drill jigs that give me perfect hole-location and perpendicularity. Also used a pipe-clamp around my drill in order to get equal depths. Turned out pretty well...🤙🏻 . - I read about a Japanese technich called shou sugi ban that makes the wood more durable by burning it then sanding it and oiling it with boiled linseed oil so i did it on my cypress logs for my new pergola project!
Ich hab ein wenig an meinem SCUB weitergemacht. Zunächst habe ich eine Aufnahme gefräst, um einen mit Epoxy ausgegossenen Tischtennisball zu bearbeiten. Dieser wurde in die Aufnahme gelegt, ausgerichtet und mit Heißkleber fixiert. Der Heißkleber hat super gehalten und ließ sich danach spurlos entfernen. Und das Beste ist, dass der Tischtennisball auch exakt auf den Drehencoder des SCUB passt. Ich liebe es, wenn ein Plan funktioniert. Als Nächstes wurde ein weiterer Tischtennisball per Cutter halbiert und die beiden Hälften jeweils auf die äußeren LEDs geklebt. Somit ist das Teil nun fertig zum programmieren. Bei Gelegenheit bekommt er dann auch noch einen Boden, damit das Gehäuse auch zu ist. . Our home has history. My great grandparents bought this 1945-built home in 1964, the year my mother was born. After my great-grandmothers death in 2011, @thewildplatypus and I moved in in 2012. Out front, there was a massive silver maple which had been a part of our home and our family for decades. This spring, we had to take it down. However, we salvaged the trunk and found a local person to slab it and kiln-dry it. Now, we have eight beautiful slabs of wood that we will make into tables and benches to serve as family heirlooms. ❤️ - @theborderlined on Instagram

Now the long process of a hand rubbed oil finish. I prefer the flood method. Multiple coats flooded on after raising the grain with water and a heat gun. Then hours of wet sanding with he same oil until every spec of the grain pores are filled. Its a long arduous process but very gratifying when complete. For the next couple days we are cutting these beautiful 18 Alaskan Yellow Cedar tapersawn shakes for a very special custom order.... for one of our very valued customers. They will be kiln dried, rebutted & rejointed, and stained with a bleaching oil (as seen in the 3rd picture). This bleaching oil speeds up the weathering process and will turn the shakes into an attractive silvery grey a little faster than usual. Knocking out some of the rough milling for my next table today! Here Im trimming down some boards before they head over to the jointer. When cutting rough lumber, I set the board on the table so itll rock (see first photo.) This way when the cut is completed, the board doesnt fall and pinch the blade, which could cause kickback. I also use my Freud industrial rip blade, which does way better at ripping lumber than a general purpose blade. Got any tablesaw questions? Another extreme torture test of a round wedge. I quickly fitted this old plumb to a 32 coal pick handle and drove in a TR-1 wedge without a wooden wedge. The T-80 helped snug up the fit a little bit. I then proceeded to chop at this very dry and very hard hickory log for about 10 minutes. The axe head hasnt budged a bit and Im sure it will continue to work for a long time to come! Servus liebe Holzbrüder, Schwestern und Würmer. Zur Zeit komme ich etwas weniger in die Werkstatt, beruflich bedingt. Aber das hindert mich nicht daran, dass ich trotzdem ein paar kleine Projekte machen kann. So auch dieser 10ner Gabelschlüssel, ebenfalls für das Mofa Boardwerkzeug. Er ist klein handlich und perfekt dafür, die Seitenverkleidung zu entfernen. Stück für Stück, werde ich mir das ganze Werkzeug machen. Als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete ich Eiche. Und als Finish wieder meine eigene Mischung. Man nennt mich auch der Deutsche Finisher, Spaß beiseite, macht’s gut und bis die Tage. Ade war schee, euer Dome. I got the mortises for the trestle table roughed in last night using my drill press and router. I used a forstner bit to remove the bulk material and then followed up with my router and a pattern bit to clean everything up to match my template. The next step is to chisel out the corners and then fit the tenon to the mortises 👍🏻 Have you used mortise and tenon joinery before? #WERBUNG Nachdem das Verleimen der Leisten leider nicht ganz so geklappt hat wie ich mir das vorgestellt hatte, bzw. gehofft hatte, muss ich mehr planfräsen als eingeplant war. Der Planfrässchlitten ist leider auch nicht so optimal wie gewünscht und auch hier muss ich noch nachbessern. Aber der Hobelfräser bzw. Planfräser von @fraiserbits ist wirklich top 👍 und war definitiv kein Fehlkauf. With the electronics already wired I had to make this upgrade somewhat stealthily. With a light sand and core stain it blended right in. बस्तर अंचल पहाड़ियों का क्षेत्र है।संपूर्ण बस्तर क्षेत्र ही बस्तर पठार पर स्थित है। इस क्षेत्र में प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य के रूप में पहाड़, घने जंगल, पहाड़ियों की चोटियों, सर्पीली की घाटियां ,कल -कल करके बहने वाले अनेक नदी एवं नाले इस बस्तर भूमि का श्रृंगार है। इन्हीं पहाड़ियों के बीच स्थित गुफाएं सौंदर्य में चार चांद लगा देते हैं। कांगेर घाटी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान में स्थित कैलाश गुफा बीहड़ वनों तथा गहरी घाटियों के बीच स्थित है ।सन 1993 की पूर्व से ही कैलाश गुफा के बारे में स्थानीय निवासियों को ज्ञान था किंतु सार्वजनिक रूप से उजागर नहीं हो पाया था । जो कि वन विभाग के द्वारा 18 मार्च सन 1993 में भ्रमण करते हुए प्रवेश द्वार को देखा किंतु शाम के समय अंधेरा के जाने के कारण भी प्रवेश नहीं कर सके। 22 मार्च को पुनः सामान्य व्यवस्था के साथ इस पहाड़ी पर पहुंचे और आगे बढ़ते गए । गुफा के भीतर एक विशाल कक्ष ढलान के रुप में बना हुआ है। जिसमें अवशैल तथा उत्शैल की आकृतियां ऐसी लगती हैं जैसे देवताओं का दरबार सजा हुआ हो ।यहां पर जगह-जगह पर शिवलिंग की आकृतियां वाली छोटी - बड़ी रचनाओं के कारण इस गुफा को कैलाश गुफा का नाम दिया गया है। कैलाश गुफा का प्रवेश द्वार भूमि सतह से पहाड़ी के ऊपर लगभग 40 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर बना हुआ है । गुफा के भीतर अभी तक ज्ञात लंबाई लगभग 1000 फीट तथा गहराई 120 फीट है । प्रवेश द्वार से गुफा तक जाने हेतु कांगेर घाटी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान विभाग द्वारा सीढ़ियों का निर्माण करवाया गया है ।जिसके कारण अभी तक अन्य गुफाओं की अपेक्षा प्रवेश सबसे सरलतम है ।गुफा के अंदर प्रवेश करते हैं , उसमें अनेक उच्च निर्मित छोटे छोटे आकार के आकृतियां दिखाई देती हैं , जो संगमरमर रचनाएं दिखाई देते हैं जो मन मोह लेती हैं । छोटी नुकीली लिंग आकृति छत पर लटकी रचनाएं मानो झाड़ फानूस जिनकी लोगों से टपकती जरकन प्रकाश की किरणों के पढ़ने पर झिलमिला उठते हैं ।एक बार पर्यटक कैलाश गुफा में प्रवेश कर लें, फिर तो लगता है मानो वह कैलाश पर्वत में पहुंच गया हो। Pic credit @internetsource #bastartourism #cgtourism #bastarblogger #bastarhistory #bastarcave #naturaldestinations #naturalbeauty #naturalelements #naturephotography #naturegeography #caveconservation #caveman #cavediving #caves #caveresearch #beautifuldestinations #beautyofbastar #cretivnature #creativecave #formationofnaturalcave #cgdestination #views😍 #kailashcave #bastartravellers #visitindia #visitbastar #instagood #instacave - @bastartourism on Instagram
We were commissioned to make a small production of these custom bent pickets for a local fab company. Only 400 pieces, but I decided to make the tooling and fixture to produce these on our @coalironworks press rather than making a jig and doing it hot.
