Continuing Hill AFB 80th Anniversary series. On October 15, 2005, approximately 150 Airmen from the 1st Fighter Wing’s 27th Fighter Squadron arrived at Hill AFB from Langley AFB, Virginia. They brought with them the Air Force’s newest fighter, the F-22A Raptor. Over the next two weeks, the Airmen operated the new stealth fighter from Hill AFB’s airfield while completing some of the final steps necessary for the aircraft to achieve initial operational capability. Using the Utah Test and Training Range, the 2,675-square-mile and largest block of over-land airspace in the contiguous United States, the 27th Fighter Squadron demonstrated the F-22’s capability to effectively deploy the Joint Direct Attack Munition. This contributed to the aircraft reaching IOC, on time and according to schedule, as planned, in December 2005. It came as no surprise when Air Force Materiel Command assigned the Ogden Air Logistics Center as the depot source of repair for the F-22 Raptor. By the early 2000s, the Ogden ALC had over three decades of experience supporting the U.S. Air Force’s premier jet fighter systems. Additionally, the low observable composites work that began on Hill AFB at the beginning of the decade for the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber made it a natural choice for work on fifth generation stealth fighters such as the F-22. In competing for the workload, the primary question was more about how much of the work would be completed by private industry versus at the Ogden ALC. Ultimately, AFMC chose to have the prime contractor, Lockheed Martin Corporation, conduct some F-22 maintenance at its Palmdale, California, facility while the Ogden ALC would also support the weapon system at Hill AFB. This shot was taken while flying over The A Shau Valley Vietnam. We were. Flying to the MACV-SOG, Special Forces Camp to support A MACV-SOG Team going into Laos to check out the Ho Chi Minh Trail there. They were in a Chopper and landing at A known LZ (Landing Zone). Our plane would fly cover for them in case they ran into a group of NVA North Vietnamese Army. When they were secure we would fly back to A Shau Camp and then back to DaNang AB Vietnam. Agora, lenços brancos são um momento de adeus. Nós, tricolores usamos a memória para homenagear, com nossa luta, os que tombam na guerra cega contra o coronavírus. Desde o primeiro momento, o Fluminense colocou-se na linha de frente dos combatentes. Assim como fizera durante a gripe espanhola, a segunda guerra mundial, o Fluminense alinhou-se ao lado do povo e de seus torcedores. . Ações do clube e de suas torcidas se multiplicam. Ainda hoje o Fluminense convoca o torcedor para uma ação solidária. A torcida se une a esse momento em suas próprias iniciativas. O coletivo Fluminense Antifascista apoia e une esforços nessa corrente tricolor. . #OnThisDay: B-52 “Stratofortress” RB-52B-15-BO 52-8711, was the first operational B-52 to see service with the Strategic Air Command. 52-8711 was assigned to the 93rd Bombardment Wing and 22nd Bombardment wings in Castle AFB and March AFB, California, respectively. After 10 years of service with Strategic Air Command, 52-8711 was retired from service on September 29, 1965 and retired to the Strategic Aerospace Museum at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. 52-8711 is still part of the collection at the now Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum in Ashland, NE. 📷 USAF - @sacaerospacemuseum on Instagram

1948 zeigte die AMAG am Automobilsalon Genf den Standard Vanguard (dt. Vorreiter). Innert kürzester Zeit gingen über 1000 Bestellungen ein – und keiner konnte geliefert werden. Produktionsprobleme verhinderten eine rasche Lieferung. Als dann die ersten Wagen ein Jahr später eintrafen, waren sie mit einer Unzahl von Mängeln behaftet. So gelang es AMAG Gründer Walter Haefner, die Engländer davon zu überzeugen, dass eine Schweizer Montage sinnvoll wäre. Ab 1949 erhielt die AMAG dann Bausätze der Autos, die in der neueröffneten «Automontage Schinznach-Bad AG» fertig montiert wurden. So konnte die AMAG ein qualitativ besseres Modell als das Original anbieten. -- En 1948, AMAG présente la Standard Vanguard (avant-garde en anglais) au Salon de l’automobile de Genève. Plus de 1000 commandes sont engrangées très peu de temps, mais aucune voiture ne peut être livrée. Des problèmes de production empêchent toute livraison rapide. Lorsque les premières voitures arrivent un an plus tard, elles sont affligées d’une myriade de défauts. M. Haefner réussit à convaincre les Anglais qu’un assemblage en Suisse serait judicieux. À partir de 1949, AMAG reçoit des kits de voitures, qui sont ensuite entièrement assemblés dans la toute nouvelle usine d’Automontage Schinznach-Bad AG, ce qui permet à AMAG de proposer un modèle de meilleure qualité que l’original. -- Nel 1948, AMAG presentò la Standard Vanguard (in italiano «avanguardia») al Salone dell’automobile di Ginevra. In men che non si dica arrivarono oltre 1000 ordini, ma non fu possibile consegnarne nemmeno uno. Problemi di produzione impedirono una consegna rapida. Quando poi, un anno dopo, arrivarono le prime auto, queste avevano una miriade di difetti. Il fondatore di AMAG Walter Haefner riuscì così a convincere gli inglesi che sarebbe stato meglio montare le macchine in Svizzera. Dal 1949 in poi, AMAG cominciò a ricevere i kit di montaggio delle auto, che venivano poi assemblate interamente all’interno dell’«Automontage Schinznach-Bad AG», appena aperto.
