Join The Bike Hub on Sunday September 24th at 8:00 AM for our half century ride from Jersey City, NJ to Sandy Hook, NJ. We will be meeting at The Bike Hub located at 191 Monticello Ave, Jersey City, NJ at 8 am. We will be leaving at 8:30. You can ride single, double, or in groups, your choice, so ride at your own pace. Most of the route will take you on the Henry Hudson Bike Trail which is both safe and smooth riding with beautiful scenery along the route. A support van with snacks, water, and a mechanic with the tools necessary for common repairs will trail the ride. All riders will be provided with a direct cell phone number to the support van crew in the event of a breakdown. The support van will be in the vicinity and you will be located via GPS to get you back on the road as soon as possible. Our meeting ground will be Ohana Isle which is a food truck/restaurant on the North Beach of Sandy Hook, which serves up delicious fish tacos and pineapple ice cream amongst other specialities. We will be taking the 4:20 PM ferry back to Jersey City and well arrive at Paulus Hook at 5:25 PM. However, those who choose can ride their bike back. Every rider is responsible for their own safety and well being and we suggest you bring sufficient water and a helmet. If youd like to bring a bag to beach feel free to throw your bag in our support van and you can grab it at the beach where we will all meet!. One man died and another was being detained by police following a stabbing in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy in Pasadena on Friday night, authorities said. The killing took place about 8:15 p.m. outside the business at 20 E. Orange Grove Blvd., according to Pasadena police Lt. Carolyn Gordon. Both victim and suspect were initially described only as men, she said. No further details were available as the investigation remained in its early stages. Facebook just reminded me that on this day 8 years ago I’d just returned from backpacking Europe for 3 months with two of my best mates where I had the epiphany that I needed to pursue Motorsport for a living. I sold my house, sold or packed my things and started a 3,440km (2,137 mile) drive to Melbourne to take the first steps. Today I started a drive that’s only 20km shorter to head from Austin to Seattle for round two of the Formula Drift championship. Grab a mask and a friend and take our first #thecityisourmuseum public art tour!!! In the past few months, parks, trails, public art, and public spaces have provided respite to many. LAND studio has been considering ways in which more of our daily activities can occur in the public realm, and we came up with The City Is Our Museum, to shine a light on artworks and public spaces that can be found around town. We are creating tours of various parts of the city that can be experienced on a bike, on foot, or even through a car window. Tour #1 is a loop through the near west side that covers parts of Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway, and Edgewater Park. On this route you will experience the trails, parkland, city sidewalks, murals, sculptures, tunnels, and buildings that give these neighborhoods their unique character. Begin and end wherever you like, and complete all or part of the loop. The approximate length of tour #1 is 4.5 miles, with a few branches that would add some distance. LAND would love to see what sparks joy for you, so please share the ways you see inspiration in the city! Be safe, have fun, and give us feedback on your adventure! Women in Mount Pleasant cautioned to stay alert after man approached female pedestrians after dark There have been at least three recent reports on social media, the most recent on Sept. 21, of a man in a silver vehicle pulling up to a woman walking alone after dark and attempting to get her to come near. A woman was walking her dog Sunday just before 1 p.m. near Main Street and East 1 Avenue when she noticed two men were following her. The men would stare at her and then look at their cell phones Then around 10:30 p.m. The man in the vehicle is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, with a slim build. The driver asked her if she’d use her cell phone to make a call for him. The woman declined and called the police as soon as she got home. Another women walking on Scotia Street near Broadway was approached around 10:30 p.m. by a man driving a silver four-door sedan. The VPD sex crimes unit is involved, Const. Tania Visintin said. NEW FISHING REGULATIONS are coming to OUR Biscayne National Park. The new regulations increase size limits for a number of species. The minimum size for red grouper goes to 24 inches from 20 inches, while yellowtail snapper rises to 14 inches from 12 inches. Daily limit of 10 food and sport fish per person. The new measures also create coral reef protection areas where lobster traps are prohibited and no trawl zones where shrimpers will not be allowed to operate. 28. 7. 2020 - Sněžka ❤️ Tak jako převážná většina lidí, i my jsme byli nuceni zrušit naši letní dovolenou u moře a najít si místo, kde ji strávíme.. Náš první plán bylo, pronajmout si nějakou menší dřevěnici na horách 🏡 To bohužel neklaplo, v době, kdy jsme hledali, byly dostupné už jen velké chaty, pro nás zcela zbytečné... Po různých pokusech a hledáních jsme našli skvělý apartmán v Peci pod Sněžkou, kde jsme celých 5 dní hospodařili 😍 Vzhledem k umístění apartmánu jsme se rozhodli na Sněžku vyrazit pěšky rovnou z místa ubytování.. V době, kdy jsme byli v Krkonoších se ve velkém řešil přetlak návštěvníků na Sněžce, a také proto jsme se rozhodli, že si zahrajeme na ranní ptáčata a vyrazíme brzy! 🌅🕖 Naše trasa tedy začínala ve Velké Úpě - vyšlápli jsme si to po žluté TZ 🟡 kolem Žlebského potoka až po rozcestí Nad Portášovými boudami.. Toto počáteční stoupání byl po ránu docela záhul 😴🥵, ale musím říct, že nic horšího už nás asi nečekalo! Nad Portášovými boudami jsme pomalu začínali potkávat první turisty, ale nic strašného, asi tak 3-4 skupinky 🚶🏻♀️🚶🏻♂️🚶🏻. Dali jsme si snídani 🍔🌭🥓🥩 a fičeli jsme vzhůru ⬆️ dále po žluté na Růžohorky, Růžovou horu až po Růžovohorské sedlo. Od Růžohorek se už začínala zvyšovat koncentrace návštěvníků hor (někteří opravdu nebyli hodni označení slovem TURISTA) 🤯 Ale stále nic strašného.. I to je důvod, proč doporučujeme si přivstat a vyrazit na hory brzy! Po zmiňované 🟡 TZ jsme dorazili až na samotnou Sněžku! Už když jsme se přibližovali, přesvědčili jsme se o tom, že počasí zde je pekelně nevyzpytatelné.. Rozdíl teplot byl cca 15 stupňů 🥶 a vítr jde z 0 na 100 ❄️☃️💨 Proto jsme se zde moc nezdražovali a fičeli směrem dolů! Cestu zpět jsme si naplánovali přes Obří důl, tzn. ze Sněžky po červené 🔴 po trase Česko-polského přátelství (nebo nějak tak podobně se jmenuje 😂), od rozc. Jubilejní cesta už po 🔵 na Slezský dům a dále přes Obří důl dolů do Pece ☑️ Bylo to náročné, ale určitě to stálo za to! Krkonoše jsme si naprosto zamilovali a budeme se zde určitě vracet častěji 🖤🏔 - @cestohratky on Instagram

The rangers have reported vandalism, lots of litter at trail heads and falls, and parking in non parking areas. Please be respectful to the park, rangers and other visitors, we are all in this together. If you can, visit during the week. This will help reduce stress on the weekends and you might find it more enjoyable. Also, if you would like to help the rangers out during this challenging time of record visitorship, bring a trash bag along on your hike and lend a hand in litter control.
