I did a mix for @crack_magazine The link is out there somewhere Tom Jobim said something about being more influenced by Debussy and Ravel than American Jazz music. This thought wandered, and eventually bore fruit in the form of this mix of music. There is something about a lot of Bossa Nova that always feels slightly perverse to me. Almost narcotically content. But its exactly this character that draws me to it in these extraordinary times. It paints the world in strange colours. To continue showcasing our CMM Fellows, we like to spotlight Jean Yves Taranger, a Master student in Anthropology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. He has a BA in Education from McGill University and his passion in life is to learn from indigenous communities around the world. For the past 6 years, he has been collaborating with a group of communities in the Mixtec region of Oaxaca, Mexico. Throughout the years, he learned about the profound consequences that environmental collapse had on the regions communities. In particular, he has been working with middle and high school students in the reconstruction of the history of their land from the Spanish conquest to the present. Massive deforestation, land erosion and water scarcity led to several episodes of famine throughout the 1950s and 1960s which forced people to move towards major cities in Mexico and the USA. His project invites students from this region to reflect about their history, their land and their futures by exploring the different faces of economic development, its relation to their environment and their personal histories. Through the course that he offers at the schools in the region, he helps students develop research skills and critical thinking by showing them how to gather information about their community through interviews and the study of primary documents. Relembramos que há e sempre houve um conflito de interesses claro, por parte da Directora de Casting, ao exercer o cargo enquanto é sócia de uma Agência de modelos e que se permite a querer avaliar o desempenho de modelos de outras agências. Consideramos por isto mesmo, que os critérios pelos quais são avaliados os modelos de um modo geral, não são livres, objectivos, justos e imparciais. Tu ne lis pas un livre pour apprendre quelque chose d’extérieur, tu lis un livre pour te rendre compte de ce qui est déjà à l’intérieur de toi. C’est juste une question de prise de conscience. Les personnes qui ont atteint quelque chose de grand dans leur vie, se sont juste rendu compte et ont comprit qu’ils étaient capable de faire tout ce qu’ils voulaient en réalité 🌟 L’humain ne va faire que ce qu’il pense qu’il peut faire. Donc lorsqu’on élève notre niveau de croyance à propos d’un sujet, d’une profession, d’une compétence ou d’une industrie, on s’élève aussi notre propre image de celle-ci 🧠 Les bons savent qu’ils sont bons donc ils deviennent encore meilleurs. La façon dont on se voit est la façon dont le monde nous voit. Mon mentor m’a dit Adnane, les gens ne gagnent pas 100,000€ par an parce qu’ils le veulent.
