📣On July 19th, National Ice Cream Day, we’re taking action to FREEZE OUT racism. We stand proudly with @icecreamforchange and their commitment to dismantling inequalities, inequities, and racial injustice through the power of ice cream. On this day we want to show just how committed San Diego’s ice cream community is to these causes. We are partnering with AJ Williams, owner of @hammondsicecream, to unite San Diego ice cream and gelato shops in the fight against systemic and structural racism this #NationalIceCreamDay. Check out the different ways ice cream makers can participate⬇️: 1. Donate a percentage of all sales on 7/19 2. Donate a percentage of sales from a select product/flavor 3. Ask customers if they want to “round-up” at check-out…$4.50 becomes $5.00 with $0.50 going towards your selected organization(s). 4. Ask customers if they want to add $1 for organization(s) at check-out. If you are in a position to match the donation, even better. Visit icecreamforchange.org to sign up! . . . #icecreamforchange #nationalicecreamday #scoopsandiego #hammondsicecream #blacklivesmatter #iscreamforchange #iscreamforjustice #iscreamforequity #iscreamforequality #iscreamforblacklives #icecreamforchange #icecream #socialjustice #dogoodeaticecream - @scoopsandiego on Instagram

No More Baby Steps - our children’s futures are at stake! While Covid-19 kept us at home, temperatures in the Arctic Circle exceeded 30 degrees Celsius for the first time. This morning we placed children’s shoes at the edge of the River Thames to remind local and national leaders that the lives of children and young people around the world, as well as future generations, are threatened by the climate and ecological crisis. One year ago today, Richmond Council declared a climate emergency. The need to take decisive and rapid action is growing ever more urgent. 🎉NYCHA Seniors Become Technology Pros🎓 To help alleviate the isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, the City invested $5 million to provide 10,000 New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) seniors with free, internet-connected T-Mobile tablets so they can digitally connect with family and friends. Many of these seniors had never used tablets, computers, or the internet before. That’s where OATS (Older Adults Technology Services) stepped in. OATS was selected to teach seniors how to use their tablets as theyve been doing so since 2004. During the five-week course, participants learned how to send and receive emails, safely search the internet, download and use apps, take photos, and use Zoom for video calls. Read more here: https://on.nyc.gov/3cz36G1 OATS continues to provide Android Essentials to NYCHA seniors; another round of Android Essentials began directly after the first classes. NYCHA seniors who received free tablets and would like to sign up for a class or get help should call the Senior Planet Hotline: 1-929-356-2005. For more resources, visit https://on.nyc.gov/3cwTQT1. To learn more about OATS, visit https://on.nyc.gov/3j9YxVd. - @nychagram on Instagram

We just launched a new Coronavirus info site! https://covidnj.com/ COVID-19 is changing our lives rapidly. You may have heard the Governor ordered the closure of pretty much all schools starting Wed and of pretty much all non-essential entertainment businesses. Because SO many of you told us we could play a role in sharing information and probably taking action - we went into sprint mode. When times are tough our communities inspire me to keep on keeping on. With everything happening - I want to thank everyone single one of you who took the time to answer our survey and for your additional comments and thoughtful responses. We worked to put together information based on what you told us you were most concerned about, and while things are changing quickly and we will do our best to keep updating, this is a start. #covid19 #coronavirus #CoronavirusNJ #NJCoronavirus #NewJersey #NewJerseyOrganizingProject #NJOP #healthcare - @newjerseyorganizingproject on Instagram

Say their names. Say her name. Its about bringing awareness to the invisible names of women (and men) that have been victimized by racist police violence. Its about justice. The @aclu_nationwide Racial Justice Program brings impact lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout the country, taking on cases designed to have a significant and wide-reaching effect on communities of color. We Can Change The World Together When We All Vote With DSM New York and Los Angeles. In 2016, the election was effectively decided by fewer than 80,000 people in three states. During the mid-term elections in 2018, even with the largest youth turnout for a midterm election in decades, two thirds of young people still did not vote. Ahead of this election, DSM has asked its community in the USA to join us in educating, raising awareness and creating a call to action around registering and making a plan to vote by designing a single item that reflects a voting message of their choosing. DSM has realized this project in partnership with When We All A Vote – a non-profit, nonpartisan organization on a mission to increase participation in every election – and Good Service NYC. 100% of profits will be donated back to When We All Vote for their work in this and forthcoming elections. Launching Saturday September 26th in-store and online. We have the power to impact the direction of this country by voting. We must get out and vote in November because every voice matters.
