Our home isn’t a massive house it was a standard 3 bed semi detached house when we bought it but credit to my hubby he knew we could change it up ! - ➡️ to see the changes a few people think it’s not the same house because the tree at the back is gone 🤣 ! we had to remove some trees from the garden before our reno to make room and trimmed our neighbours one back , no fake pics here . We really wanted to keep the bricks exposed so we tried to match as best we could but there to damaged so we will have to render soon . And we put in new windows and doors three years before our big reno as the old ones were rotten so we couldn’t wait while we saved up . Progress on our latest project in #urmston walk in wardrobe area created as part of ongoing renovation works. We started on this project in February altering the layout of the first floor after multiple extensions by the previous owners and adding a separate flat within the building. We’ve created a new corridor, blocked off an old door way, opened up a new door way, removed the old bathroom, blocked up a window built this wardrobe area and are starting the en-suite works in a couple of weeks. I used this paint colour in 2007 in the living room of our first home. Always loved how calm and ‘grown up’ it felt. I was 28 then and probably liked the idea of my walls representing a chicer me 😉 Thirteen years later I’ve used it again in our barn project (but not to feel grown up, as let’s be honest I’m firmly in middle age now), but because I still love the serenity it exudes and because I’m a sentimental old fool that likes to surround myself with things that have meaning to me/my family. Biggest woodwork project yet. Soundproof booth and home studio renovation. We had a frustrating neighbour issue with complaints about our musical output in the old studio/practice room, so I decided to do something about it! Here’s some before and after! I’ve managed to reduce volume in the room by 37db using all the techniques I could feasibly afford/fit into the small space. Lots of acoustic rockwool! A thoroughly tough but rewarding 4 weeks working on this. I think I’ve pulled all my muscles going up and down the stairs with endless drywall. I’m so happy with it now, and enjoyed problem solving the woodworking issues all the way through the project. Also really liked designing the look with black/gold/warm oak stain. SWIPE! This is the entrance to my home! From 🤢 to 😍. We took the carpet out, bleached and Pinesol’ed the wood base to get every last ounce on dog smell out and then we added fresh subfloor wood planks on top to level out & minimize squeaking. Floors are from @loweshomeimprovement; Laminate Pergo Crest Ridge Hickory ($56 per box). It took us a minute to find a good dark flooring that was in budget, but that was also water-proof and scratch proof. So far, I love them! ➡️ Tip! Buy one box and see how they look out of the box and in your space before buying all. I thought I found the perfect flooring but once I opened the box they just didn’t look right and I switched them to these. . . ALL•SYSTEMS•GO 🤪 It’s been a busy few days in the formal lounge and it’s all starting to come together nicely if I do say so myself 👏🏼 On Friday @lsfireplaces fitted our beautiful burner and surround, it’s now up and running and we couldn’t be happier with it 🔥 This morning the boys from @rimodesigns were here bright and early to fit the carpet. I love this carpet, so much so we have the same one on all our other carpeted areas. The plan was always to get the room to this point and then leave the rest until the new year (given we have other rooms that take priority this side of Christmas).
