It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was in Saint-Malo, France, watching these children take exuberant flying leaps off a diving platform into the sea—their bodies striking dynamic poses while momentarily suspended, then hurtling through the air and into the cold water. Splash! It was another world and a different time, when crowds werent considered a threat to ones health. And traveling didnt feel like a distant memory. How that has changed, at least for a while longer. It’s #MeettheTeamTuesday, say hello to SeaTREK manager, Shannon Aldridge. Shannon is also a member of the OdySea Aquarium dive team, diving to clean exhibits all over the aquarium. If you see a diver in an exhibit during your visit, it just might be Shannon! Prior to the pandemic, Shannon conducted the SeaTREK underwater tours with guests wearing wetsuits and innovative, state-of-the-art SeaTREK helmets. These amazing SeaTREK experiences allowed visitors to get up-close to beautiful Indo-Pacific fishes and possibly feed or touch a few! Unfortunately, SeaTREK is suspended now for COVID safety precautions, but Shannon and her team continue to care for and work with the animals in the exhibit, including “Blue,” a particular favorite of hers. Blue is a small blue-spotted maskray whom she affectionately calls the “little boss man of SeaTREK!” Blue enjoys human interaction and allows a gentle touch to his dorsal side! “Plus,” says Shannon, “Blue enjoys snoot boops!” Taking great pride in her work, Shannon’s SeaTREK team was recently recognized as the SeaTREK Operator of the Year by Sub Sea Systems! If you have ever taken a SeaTREK experience at OdySea, you can attest that this honor comes from their dedicated hard work, vast knowledge and huge enthusiasm to share their love of the ocean, conservation and sealife with those they meet on their SeaTREK excursions. Shannon has been fascinated by the ocean since she was a child growing up in New York. She pursued a degree in Marine Biology at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, participated in multiple research and travel studies, and obtained an open water instructor certification from PADI, Professional Association of Diving Instructors. Shannon feels the “endless opportunities” is what makes working at OdySea Aquarium so exceptional. “Our mentality of ‘one team – one dream’ sets us up to constantly help one another with various projects and tasks. Все остальные пункты - чистая правда! Бумажное Шоу существует с 1997 года! For the filming of the #HennessyVerySpecial collaboration, we visited what I consider a dream location: this remote shipwreck located in the furious seas off the Namibian Skeleton Coast, just north of South Africa. Being in a space so remote, surrounded by endless dunes, I could feel the desert’s silence, and the slow movements of the wind and the sand. Nature cares not for our ambitions and desires. Ele veio com a história de que me daria uma viagem de presente de aniversário, mas que o destino seria surpresa e que eu saberia só na hora do embarque.. Só me disse que iríamos pra algum lugar frio, que precisaria de passaporte (essa foi só pra me confundir mesmo kkk), e que teríamos uma escala de umas 16h em Córdoba 👍👍. Depois de descobrir que o destino era Mendoza achei que já soubesse tudo sobre a viagem #sqn hhahaha, chegando em Córdoba me contou que não havia escala, e que ficaríamos esse tempo lá pra ir no espetáculo Ovo do Cirque Du Soleil (chorei de emoção kkk). Mais uma experiência fantástica!!! Enfim, resumindo tudo isso.. muitas surpresas, lugares incríveis, muito frio em Aconcágua, muito vinho e histórias pra contar. 🇦🇷 De que nos quejábamos? Porque tuvimos que “perder” de alguna manera nuestra libertad para poder valorar? Cuánto más pretendemos? ♦️Este STOP mundial q muchos nos hizo el click, a otros aún no, y a otros simplemente los ayudó a reconectarse con si mismo. En nuestro caso, si bien veníamos viviendo intensamente, con sentimientos encontrados, pudimos aprovecharlo y aún lo seguimos haciendo. Miramos para atrás y sentimos que en muchas cosas no fuimos agradecidos. La pandemia y sus restricciones nos permitió abrir los ojos, valorar la vida, nuestros seres queridos y que cada logro (pequeño o grande) fue NUESTRO. A veces no fuimos conscientes de todo lo que logramos con nuestros esfuerzo; dejamos para “despues” visitar a un ser querido cuando lo podíamos hacer ese día; no disfrutamos algo de lo que deseábamos porque pensamos que más adelante íbamos a poder, y acá estamos: en Argentina, tratando de darle sentido a cada minuto del día, anhelando lo que tanto deseamos, queriendo volver a nuestra casa en Brasil. Pero también proyectamos en nuestros sueños, trabajamos mucho en RETRATO DE VIAJES y estudiamos mucho para mejorar cada día. Haciendo cursos, mirando videos, leyendo y trabajando. Paulo en una empresa cerealera a tiempo indeterminado y yo (Paula) ocupando mi tiempo en estudiar, vendiendo ropa y bombones caseros próximamente. Hoy por hoy, tenemos muchos planes, hay uno enorme que queremos cumplir y sabemos que se va a dar. Ya les contaremos en el momento indicado. 💬Ustedes que sueño tienen por cumplir luego de esta cuarentena? —————————————————— 🇧🇷Do que estávamos reclamando? Por que tivemos que “perder” de alguma forma nossa liberdade para poder valorizar? Quanto mais nós queremos? ♦️Esta PARADA mundial que muitos clicaram em nós, outros ainda não e outros simplesmente os ajudaram a se reconectar com eles mesmos. No nosso caso, embora vivêssemos intensamente, com uma mistura de sentimentos, pudemos tirar proveito disso e ainda assim continuaremos. (Day 255-259 Lisbon, Portugal #PoppUpTheWorld) It was not an easy decision to choose the next destination after Greece. On one hand, we were waiting for some of our top countries to reopen, on the other hand we had to book a flight ticket and some accommodation as the time was ticking. But what we learned during this year is - do not make any big plans, cause you will have to follow another one at the end! Long story short - Asia is and will stay closed until the end of the year and Central America has not the best weather during September. But guess what? We finally are able to do something that was on my list since forever - a road trip through my favourite country in Europe!!! So we booked our flight from Heraklion to Lisbon, some of the accommodations and a car for the next month! We arrived on the 12th of September in Lisbon and spend some amazing time there! Compared to my last time in the capital Portugal, this time was absolutely quite and lovely! We could visit places taht we we couldnt the last time because of the waiting lines ... again - benefit of traveling in 2020! We walked A LOT in Lisbon as we had to pick up our car at the airport in some days. In Lisbon you definitely dont need a car! It is expensive and uncomfortable to explore the city by car.
