In 2016, I ran 8:41 for 3k steeple 🚧🏃🏼‍♂️ and missed running at the Olympic Trials in Oregon. You know it’s a fast race when you can’t tell if it’s a bike or a car coming up behind you Alt/Sappy: Competing at Trifest was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever put my body through. 56.1 miles of racing was a toll I was not ready for but needed(!) to remember who I am and get out of this funk. Really stoked to have competed in my first half Ironman distance event over the weekend at geelong 70.3. It was a great weekend out competing in a team relay with @ben_galea_tri where we managed to finish 8th out of 48 teams. . . The race started for me started with the 1.9km open water swim. It wasn’t my best performance in recent times however I’m still happy to go sub 30minutes for this distance. . . Then it was onto the bike for me. Started of my bike strong averaging good speed in the first lap however I soon learnt that I may have gone too hard too early to struggle with speed on the second lap. All in I was able to ride a 2:35. Before transferring the reins to Ben for him to run a 1:25 half marathon. . . All in all super happy with my performance and the overall success of the weekend. Lots of lessons were learnt and theres always more work required but I can’t wait to compete at my first full Ironman 70.3 in Melbourne this year. Um ehrlich zu sein bin ich extrem traurig, dass heute wohl doch noch nicht der Tag sein sollte, auf den ich schon seit Monaten hoffe: Der Tag, an dem ich meinen ersten Triathlon absolvieren darf. @franzloeschke , @philippseipp und @christiandaser_personaltrainer haben mich in den letzten Monaten superfit für das Rennen gemacht, ich hatte wahnsinnig Bock und wollte vor allem endlich mal unter Beweis stellen, was ich kann. Die Enttäuschung über die Absage des Rennens ganz kurz nach dem Startschuss sitzt verdammt tief. Bitte nicht falsch verstehen: Natürlich habe ich maximales Verständnis für die Organisatoren und bin der Meinung, dass es in Anbetracht der Witterungs-Situation die einzig vernünftige Entscheidung war, die @challengedavos abzusagen. Dass die Gesundheit vorgeht, habe ich in den zurückliegenden Pechjahren oft genug gelernt. Zu einer Ersatz-Trainingseinheit konnte ich mich den ganzen Tag über trotzdem nicht motivieren. Una semana después de poner fin a la temporada y asimilando todo lo ocurrido queria primero que nada agradecer a mi familia y entrenador @toni_puig por todo el esfuerzo y a @adidas (@asuarezbermudez ), @proyectofer y @ucam_universidad por todo el apoyo que sin ellos todo esto no podría ser posible. Analizando la temporada la verdad que el aire libre a sido bastante complicado ya que en el Campeonato de Europa sub-20 que iba con toda la ilusión de pelear por la medalla de oro y un virus en la barriga me hizo quedarme sin fuerzas el día de antes de la semi y de la final y se me hizo imposible aun así conseguí una 4ta plaza que me sabia a muy poco. Pero esa infeccion me dejo tocado un par de semanas y no pude preparar bien las vallas absolutas hasta llegar al campeonato de españa absoluto que me volvía a sentir bien pero la verdad, no fue mi mejor campeonato pero bueno me quite un poco la espinita y consegui un segundo puesto detras de la bestia de @ortega_110_hurdles al cual felicito por llevarse el diamante esta pasada noche👏🏻💎. Por ultimo felicitar a un gran amigo, @luisalort que después de pasar un aire libre complicado por las lesiones a vuelto mas fuerte que nunca con un sub-14 y 3º en el de España Absoluto. National XC | It was a day of mixed fortunes for the blue and white this weekend at Wollaton Park, in what will no doubt go down as one of the toughest National XC’s to date. • The senior men’s team were led home by Dan Jarvis who produced one of Bedfords best ever performances finishing in an excellent 6th place, he was followed by a scoring team of Goodwin (26th) Deed (53rd) Alcock (63rd) Eves (66th) & Mackay (92nd) which earned them 4th place in the team standings, just 5 points adrift of a medal. • The U20 men also performed well to take 4th overall, led home by James Minter (22nd) and backed up by Brodie (56th) Yabsley (64th) & Laursen (122nd). • Sadly we had a few casualties (shoes and runners) along the way with conditions working against us, but luckily nothing too serious. It’s devastating to see so many cross-country and track programs shutting down across the country but the reality is, funding for collegiate athletics is kind of a mess 💔 To break it down, you have to remember 3 things: 1️⃣ Olympic sports are not money-makers. Football and sometimes basketball are the primary revenue sports for athletic departments and with the loss of the NCAA Tournament last spring, football for some conferences, and no fans/reduced capacity in stadiums — every school is hurting for money. 2️⃣ Schools spend A LOT of money on coaching salaries (not usually for the XC coach...). When a FB or MBB coach gets fired before their contract ends, they’re usually being paid a buyout AND then a department has to pull together the money for a flashy salary to lure in a new coach and their staff. 3️⃣ There is a facilities arms race going on, where each school wants to attract the best recruits by having an incredible athletic complex- the best fields, stadiums, locker rooms, performance centers, dining halls, and, yes, nap rooms and slides. 🆒 So, the bottom line: there isn’t really an incentive for athletic departments to save money for a rainy day. They can’t tap into university endowments because that money is usually earmarked for other university uses. Não é #tbt mas é quase... só lembrar o dia em que #vireimaratonista há exatos 2 anos atrás... Foi duro, foi sofrido... Quando comecei a correr, ha 7 anos atras, nunca imaginei que seria maratonista... mas, passados os primeiro meses, fui aumentando a distância e, em 9 meses corri meus primeiros 21 km... daí pensei, vou comemorar 42 anos correndo 42 km... Nesse meio tempo muita coisa aconteceu.. e meu plano foi sendo transferido.. só consegui realizá-lo com 44 anos... e ainda assim, foi difícil... Estava sedentária, com 10 kg acima do peso e resolvi que iria me preparar por 4 meses apenas... emagreci, treinei, me machuquei... mas fui... foram mais de 5 horas correndo.. 5:15 pra ser exata... passei mal pós prova, 🤮💩... mas foi um aprendizado.. me tornei mais forte, mais segura... me conheci melhor.. me apaixonei pela distância... e foi ai que esse IG começou... Dia 23 de setembro sempre será um dia marcante pra mim! O dia em que VIREI MARATONISTA!! Dear runner, a marathon dream that falls apart due to the coronavirus. With pain in our sports heart we must inform you that the 45th edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon can not be held this year. All purchased tickets will remain valid for the edition on Sunday the 17th of October in 2021. As a participant you have received an e-mail about this. With a strongly adjusted program wit fewer participants we wanted to do everything we could to organise the marathon in a responsible and safe way. The rising number of corona infections in our capital and the further outbreak of the virus globally however made it irresponsible for the municipality to give a permit for the edition of 2020. And so the Olympic Stadium will stay empty on Sunday the 18th of October. We will really miss al runners, volunteers and supports! Thank you for your patience and support. Þrátt fyrir að fátt komist með tærnar þar sem fyrri sigrar ársins hafa hælanna, þá var hlaupið yfir endalínuna á Laugaveginum í ár einstaklega sætt. Með þreytta fætur, sólbrunnið enni og RedBull dós framan á mér, mætti ég vinahópnum sem allir voru öskrandi á endamarkinu og neyddu svo í mig neyðar-Apollobita, sem útskýrir fullan munn nokkrum sekúndum eftir endamarksfögnuðinn. Stærstan hluta þessa sigurs á ég @hrefnaros að þakka sem sýndi tímafrekum æfingum endalausa þolinmæði og skilning, en nýtt hlutverk hjá okkur báðum gerði æfinganálgunina töluvert öðruvísi þetta árið. Niðurstaða Laugavegsins 2020 var tími upp á 5:21:04, sem ég hefði seint leyft mér að dreyma um; 27. sæti overall og þriðja sætið í mínum aldursflokk. Ánægjan af því tvöfaldaðist svo að heyra að meiðslamusterið @snorribjorns sannaði aftur hvaða kraumandi potential hann hefur og varð í 3. sæti overall og fyrstur Íslendinga. Kempurnar @hinriksteinar og @einarpg fá svo shoutout fyrir að klára þetta með rugluðum stæl! Eftir góðar tvær vikur af hvíld tekur núna við næsta áskorun, að klára að pakka öllu í kassa og flytja ásamt Hrefnu og litla gaur til Köben í mastersnám. -- Few things come close to the personal achievements of last May, but running across the finishline in this years Laugavegur Ultra marathon was extra sweet. With exhausted legs, sunburned head and a finished RedBull on my chest, I met my entire group of friends at the finishline. I owe the biggest part of this achievement to @hrefnaros who showed countless long exercises exceptional tolerance, patience and understanding. This years result was a 24 minute improvement from last years run; 5:21:04, a time I wouldnt have dreamed of; 27th place overall and 3rd in my age group. Not making things worse, partner in crime @snorribjorns delivered a 3rd place overall finish and 1st of all Icelanders. Nach dem 10 000 m Lauf letzte Woche in Regensburg standen gestern 3000 m in Winnenden auf dem Programm. Eine Bestzeit zu laufen stand bei diesem Rennen nicht im Fokus. Vielmehr wollte ich meinem Teamkollegen @marcel_fehr zu einer schnellen Zeit verhelfen. 2:40 und 5:25 als Zwischenzeiten waren für mich ein super Ergebnis und Marcel konnte daraus noch eine 8:02 machen. Bueno, 3 días tarde pero finalmente subo alguna foto... Quizas si tuviera que buscar una frase para describir éste campeonato sería ¿y porque no?. No quiero que suene arrogante, pero me apetece compartir que estoy orgullosa de mi misma. Creo que nunca me había atrevido a correr como corrí este pasado fin de semana en la prueba de 3000 obstaculos en Sevilla. Tenía muchas ganas de ponerme a prueba y arriesgar, y esque nunca había confiado tanto en mi compitiendo como lo he hecho en esta carrera. Creo que en esta temporada ha habido un punto de inflexión en mi vida en el que me he cuestionado que quiero construir de aquí en adelante, desde mis relaciones más personales hasta lo referente al atletismo, y aunque todavía estoy intentando averiguar quien es la personita que habita este cuerpo, se con total certeza que cada día que pasa estoy más cerca de saber quien quiero ser. Windkracht 5/6 maakte het tot een lastige avond gisteren in Naaldwijk. Één recht stuk vol wind mee, aan de overzijde vol wind tegen. Daarom vooraf besloten het sub 4-doel los te laten, bij de doorkomsten niet op de klok te kijken en gewoon goed te racen. Dat lukte en met 4.03,29 in deze omstandigheden erg tevreden. Aan de grimas te zien zat er niets meer in 😅 Het doel kunnen aanpassen op de dag zelf: niet eenvoudig, wél belangrijk. Nationals done for another year. I missed a lot of training this summer due to injury but was very happy to be able to still get out and race. Came away with 7th in the 800m and 3rd in the 3000m steeple chase. It was a great experience racing the steeple chase and think I will be back for more! 4th place at my first USATF sanctioned race (US “road” 1 mile Champs), a lil mile PB at 4:33, and a 63 second last lap!!! I’m excited about this, but more proud of my approach to this day. I was internally a mess until the gun went off— it’s a long story but we admitted my grandma to the ER, just 36 hours prior, for a bad fall. She is more stable now🙏, but at the time, I didn’t know if I’d make it to the starting line. Well, as you probably know, I did make it to the starting line. I felt pretty emotionally/physically tired, as one would; but did my best to keep nudging myself back to the controllable— attitude and effort. When the gun went off, for the first time in the past 36 hours, during those 4 and a half minutes that I was racing, my mind was finally quiet. My body went into competition mode and I just ran as hard as I could on the day. My Grandma watched the race from the ER and apparently that was as first time she smiled since being admitted❤️. Running is so much more than a sport, it’s a way a coping with life, practicing resiliency, processing emotion, and staying present. I just wanted to remind you all, we are stronger than we think💪. • • Also, big S/O to @drakerelays @draketrackandfield for safely putting on this event during unprecedented times. Никогда еще мой директ не был так завален поздравлениями😄 Я пытаюсь всем ответить, но не успеваю😅 Мне ооооочень приятно, спасибо большое! ☺️ Думаю Вы уже заждались от меня поста😄 Как далась мне эта победа😅🥇 ⠀ Начну с самого начала😅 с того, что мы с тренером утром проспали трансфер🤦‍♀️ Я еще лежу в кроватке и тут звонок😅 Сардана вы где? Автобус уже отъезжает!😱 Так быстро я еще никогда не собиралась на старт😄 В итоге мы поехали до Лужников на метро😄 Так что утро было бодреньким😅 Дальше уже все спокойно и по плану ☺️ Погода стояла +8 и как раз когда нас завели на стартовый коридор выглянула солнышко, как будто ей тоже было интересно посмотреть как мы побежим марафон😄🌞 Трасса Московского марафона, наверно, одна из сложных в России, особенно последние 17км🥵. Хорошо что мои сборы проходили в Кисловодске, где даже обычный поход в магазин можно считать хорошей горной подготовкой🏔🚶🏼‍♀️😄 И так как бегу марафон в Москве уже третий раз я была готова к тому что меня ждёт 😄 Несмотря на очень холодную и ветреную погоду, самое главное не было дождя😄 ⠀ Первая половинка прошла почти незаметно - 1:13.16 🙂 Пейсмейкеры у меня в этом году попались немножко неопытные, но ничего ☺️они мне все равно очень помогли. Выложились как могли, это наоборот очень достойно☺️ Дальше-больше🤗 Огромное им за это благодарность 🙂 На 24м километре у нас случился неожиданный казус 😅 Из-за сильного ветра оторвалась ленточка, ограждающая трассу и каким-то образом обмоталась вокруг моей ноги😅 Я не могла двигаться и продолжить бег 😄 Пришлось остановиться и вырывать ленту из ног, спасибо пейсам, что быстро среагировали☺️ помогли мне выпутаться из «ленточного плена»😄из-за того что была резкая остановка у меня началась дергаться правая нога и сводить левая рука, я пыталась в начале не обращать на это внимание, но на последних километрах этого почти невозможно было игнорировать🤖 На 28 километре начал отставать Логинов (пейс1). Потом я узнала что у него были судороги на ногах😕 может тоже из-за резкой остановки и плюс еще холод😕 Дальше на 36км я почувствовала что устает 2й пейс-Дима Салов, как раз в это время нас обгонял один парень и я решила (продолжение в комментариях) - @sardanatrofimova on Instagram

Recordando viejos tiempos. Trece años que no participaba en un triatlón. Y me volvió a picar el gusanillo. Sin tiempo para prepararlo, lo decidí hace 9 días, con 3 sesiones de natación y 2 meses sin correr por lesión en gemelo, no podía pedir más. Muchos nervios en la salida, parezco nueva 🙈. La salida siguiendo las medidas del Covid, en tandas de cinco cada 10sg, me ha permitido nadar sin mucho agobio de golpes, aunque las sensaciones han sido bastante malas, he terminado peleándome con el agua. La transición, horrible, me he tomado mi tiempo, el neopreno no salía, los guantes no entraban...un desastre. La bici me ha sorprendido, un circuito exigente y con un toque técnico que no esperaba; me ha gustado y aunque no tengo ritmos rápidos, creo que ha sido mi mejor sección hoy con caída incluida. Bajarme a correr y cruzar los dedos para que el gemelo me dejara completar los 5kms; con molestias ya desde el inicio he conseguido no obstante correr sin pararme y entrar en meta satisfecha por el trabajo hecho. Con ganas de más, pero con una mejor preparación 🏊🚵🏃💪😍 @danielplaaguilar, ya tenemos nuevos objetivos 🤪 seguro que te has quedado con las ganas viéndonos 💕 @triatlonrealcanoe @jperezlatorre, muy buena carrera. In these types of races, mistakes are costly and I made quite a few today. I raced clumsy and while I’m disappointed to not have executed as I envisioned or know I am capable; I am also pretty proud that I was able to maintain composure and focus in the times I fell short. T2 was a host of unforgiving mistakes in itself, but there were others I made throughout the race. What I find comforting (in an odd way) about races like this is that it is not hard for me to determine where work needs to be done and how to be better for next time. So today provided great insight and feedback and I can’t wait to be better at the next opportunity, which is right around the corner! I was inspired by many of the other ladies racing on the course today. Of course by the always smiling @georgiatb on winning the World Championship and racing 💪🏻 and 💨, the overcomer of all adversity @floraduffy and the consistent Hamburg crusher @laura_linran. They were so impressive, and many more inspiring performances ran deep today and went far beyond the podium ladies. So my feelings: disappointed, proud, hungry for more, relieved to have the first race done, thankful for the opportunity and so so happy to reunite with this wonderful community of people. THE FINISH LINE Todays thesis submission was pure relief for me. Putting all that laboratory scramble during lockdown into an 86 page report. That should mark the end of all my uni courses. Its been an absolute grind, now a week of waiting before I know how much worth it was. Had to give it my all to get through each assessment task, trying to will a wounded mind and body over the line time and time again. The journey of the past 4.5 years has been a rollercoaster. If Im honest some highs mightve been too high and lows too low. At the end of the day its been eye opening and hopefully rewarding The next phase into becoming an engineer now begins. With the next phase as a runner also coming into effect, the road might be twice as long. I dont mind. In fact Im excited for the journey ahead. Maybe Im not leaving, maybe Im going home. Il Memorial Partigiani Stellina sapevo che non era una gara adatta a me, 1600m di dislivello positivo tutti dun fiato non gli avevo mai affrontati in vita mia🤯😅 ma mi ha sempre attratto questa gara, erano anni che volevo farla. Una corsa dai mille significati non solo sportivi, che ha fatto la storia della corsa in montagna. Posso dire di essere abbastanza soddisfatto della mia gara e sono convinto che la corsa in montagna e soprattutto le gare di sola salita possano dare molto anche ad atleti mezzofondisti e fondisti che puntano a correre forte poi nelle gare in pista su strada o nei cross. È incredibile quanto è essenziale saper conoscere se stessi e saper gestire le proprie forze sul filo del rasoio quando continui a salire per così tanti km e quanto bisogna saper soffrire veramente.
