Its time for Mortal Shell Art Dump! I just uploaded 250+ highres images to my ArtStation that include bunch of characters, weapons, props I designed, modeled and textured while working on the game. So click the link in bio to see more of the other stuff. In the meantime Ill keep using Instagram to share more detailed views, info and various angles of specific high poly designs as in reality I produced a lot more images than I uploaded to web. Lets start with this early version of Tarsus, The First Martyr I designed and modeled before we even had the name for the game. Initially I tried to keep the proportions more realistic with more sleek silhouette and really focus on the layering and details. I built the initial form in zbrush, then I converted it to subd mesh and refined the shapes in XSI, then extracted pieces of it and converted it to CAD and used booleans in Moi3D to create layers of forms. Once that was all done I exported it all as polys back to Zbrush and finished the details and pushed the shapes further. It was a blast to work on this! I love late the aesthetic of gothic armor and it was a dream of mine to design a dark fantasy character inspired by functional design but not be constrained by it and really have fun with it.
