Have you ever tasted home made olives and antipasto capsicum on a cheese platter? What about real (I mean real) dill pickles? Or sour, garlicky fermented hot sauce? Lacto fermentation is a way of storing veggies in salt brine that transforms the humble carrot or fennel into something else entirely. Every time Ive got a spare few veggies that I wont get around to cooking, I chuck them in a jar with some salt and water, and two weeks later Ive got a crunchy, tangy side that adds colour, flavour and probiotics to my lunch. To be honest, when were feeling lazy, well put all the ferments on the table with a handful of crackers, some lacto fermented eggs, and some home made labneh cheese (see the yoghurt illustration for how to make this), and create an instant feast. I guess our super education system made it seem like a punishment than a reward If you ask me about reading then I can vouch that it is one of the most beautiful habits or interest that one can cultivate Reading books can make one travel across the world and feel the experiences of a lifetime I wont say I am an avid reader but I am learning and building on this habit Currently, I am reading Outliers-The story of success by Malcolm Gladwell Well, to be honest, I have been reading this book for the last 2 months and I am just halfway done So I started researching on how to read like a pro and came across some of the best reading tips 1. Start small. Start with 15 mins of reading either just after dinner when you should avoid screentime and would want to stay up for a while 2. Try to speed read but make sure that you can follow the book. The idea is to read actively for 15 mins 3. Keep pushing yourself week on week by adding 5 mins each week until you reach 45 mins where you should be able to read 45 pages at least The day you reach step 3 you will be able to finish a book in 1 week Which means 48 books in a year! Lol probably you will end up reading more books in a year than you had ever read in your entire lifetime Jokes apart dont aim for 48 as of now. Start with 1 book per month and stick to that.
