Located on the bustling sidewalks of #Shanghai’s historic Former French Concession, Zhe Tian is exclusive yet inviting eatery, offering desserts only, exposing its interiors through broad glass windows facing the street. Studio @quarta_armando worked around the concept of merging memories and innovation and nature and artifice when designing this 90-sq-m #restaurant. Massive, custom-made concrete cast tables occupy the main dining area. The experience is meant to be shared by few customers at a time, sitting together while each dessert is personally introduced by the chef and prepared on the spot, explain the designers. En fait tout ça est un prétexte qui dépasse la qualité formelle du vêtement ou sa qualité narrative. Et c’est une des industries qui met le plus de ressources intellectuelles, créatives et financières pour les arts visuels. Si on montre exactement ce qu’on aime faire, les clients nous appelleront exactement pour ça. Le fait qu’on soit polymorphe, bizarre et difficile à vendre, tout ça c’est au détriment d’une activité commerciale. Mais les bénéfices c’est que nos journées avec Valentin sont très variées. On peut sauter d’une image à un film, d’un film à un petit objet, d’un objet à un espace. C’est confortable et on fait les choses qu’on aime. Il n’y a rien de méritocrate là-dedans. 💔 My time in Kenya was also my time with Andre. From the moment we met we were incredibly close. We pretty much never left each other’s side from that point. He was always so kind and sweet to me. He really was. He took care of me, he made me feel safe. We had so many adventures. I got to know Kenya with and through him. He was my best friend. We did everything together and I really loved him. He suffered so much. He had so much pain and darkness inside him that he was constantly battling and it was often too much. For him and for me. I loved him and I always tried to help him but I think deep down I always knew one day I would wake up to news like I did this morning. It hurts a lot and it makes me devastated, to know and be reminded of just how much pain he was in, a pain I could never understand no matter how much I tried, and no matter what I, or any of the many people who wanted to help him did, could take away. Andre went through so much in life, he really did, more than someone should ever have to. Despite all his suffering, Andre loved life. He loved his friends, he was constantly bigging everyone up and making them feel good about themselves. Whenever he introduced me to people he had so much goodness to say. He helped me so much with my film, he was my cheerleader, he pushed me and supported me throughout, he went with me everywhere and took me places to meet people and film that I would never have gone myself, in so many ways, my film was also of him. He was my muse. A beautiful, smart, strong, kind, tormented, gentle, vibrant man. He had so many ideas, he was so passionate and creative and smart. He was so generous in his own ways, always making me clothes and Jewellery and buying all of us chains and styling us up, he always shared what he had, always. He wanted to do so many things. He wanted to be healthy, he wanted to be happy. He loved music, so much, he lived for it.
