It’s Apple Picking Season 🙌🏽🍎. Last weekend, @sandy_azcona and I headed to @terhuneorchards for one of their Fall Fun Weekends. We had wine flights 🍷 and a cheese board 🧀, walked through the pumpkin patch 🎃, picked apples 🍏, and picked up some wine and apple cider doughnuts at the store! Admission to the Cold Soil Road location (wine tasting, pumpkins, activities and store) is by online timed ticket entry. Apple picking is only at the Van Kirk Road location, tickets are not required there. Masks and social distancing are required everywhere. Но я абсолютно убеждена в том, что каждый имеет право на свою точку зрения, какой бы абсурдной она не была для меня лично, НО ... у меня просьба перестать сравнивать нас с кем-то. Беларусь одна, она ни на кого не похожа и идёт по своему пути, основываясь на своём личном опыте и убеждениях. Я не исключаю тот факт, что на нас со всех сторон оказывается давление, чтобы превратить мирные протесты, борьбу за справедливость в побоища. Но мы справимся! А все комментарии со сравнениями мне напоминают то, как соседки ходят в гости и жалуются друг другу на мужей, а потом одна из них возвращается домой и говорит «ну да мой тиран, но хоть не пьёт, не бьет, ну так, только по делу бьет, зато деньги в дом приносит! подруг у меня совсем не осталось, но шубу купил, маму пол года не видела, зато у детей отец есть». Так вот! Мы не такие! Но дело в том, что даже в этом примере, у женщины есть выбор «РАЗВЕСТИСЬ»! Начать тяжелую самостоятельную жизнь или остаться, взвесив все за и против. И это только ее решение. Вернёмся! У нас были ВЫБОРЫ! Мы не устроили государственный переворот, мы пошли отдать свой голос, у всех разный, но свой собственный. И мы хотим одного: дать нам возможность самостоятельно, каждому в отдельности, сделать свой выбор! Я знаю, что мы трудолюбивый и сильный народ, который привык расчитывать только на себя, свои силы и свой ум. Мы не ждём решения наших собственных проблем и несметных богатств с приходом новой власти! Нет! STRANGE AND UNCERTAIN TIMES: Or wake me up when this is all over. Make a drink, take a drag—how do you plot your brief escape acts? My coping mechanism is sleep and the (de)vices that get me there. My penchant for slumber takes hold in these seasons of quiet, lulling me into an extended weeks-long nap of fuzzy time. I’ll lose sight of self and others as I drowsily wait until the next chapter wakes me up. I wouldn’t recommend it; an unproductive, passive, opt-out-from-reality binge is not at all helpful. Then again, in a season where time is being closely examined as we wait for it to move, the idea of placing value on how productive our days are is a fault of its own. Rare are the evenings pre pandemic that you would find me at home watching a program. After a (high-impact) day at work, I was off to hear or see or taste something; chasing new experiences to fill me up. Now without distraction, inspiration, and a clear view of what’s ahead I find myself very, very sleepy. 💤 “Where is the value of this lull?“ How funny I keep trying to find evidence of personal meaning in this dumpster fire. I’m really not even an “everything happens for a reason” type. I resent the idea of finding a new hobby or trying to better myself in some way in this season (other than examining my whiteness, see part III for more on that) because that doesn’t make sense to me either. This is hard to post but i need the reminder to keep going 🤍 Dear the fragile, broken, scared, sad and sick girl I once was, my heart aches for you, I’m sorry, I’m sorry for the pain I caused you, I’m sorry for putting my illness before you, I’m sorry for allowing these lies to consume you and be dictated by that deadly voice, I’m sorry for starving you and the heart ache I caused you and our family, I’m sorry for the lies you had to tell “oh I’m not hungry”, “I already ate”, when In reality you were dying inside and was in the weakest condition of your life. Carbs won’t make you fat, losing weight won’t make you happy, and you are “sick enough” and their is no such thing as being “sick enough” you were drowning and being consumed by your eating disorder and you didn’t need to weigh yourself daily after a day of starvation only to feel the pride of the number going down day by day. In reality you were getting sicker and dying, I’m sorry for the social events you missed out on and I’m sorry for making you put on that fake smile when you were struggling most, so no one knew the pain you were in. I’m sorry for making ur only focus in life food and numbers and for the happiness Lost, I’m sorry for the tears lost in front of the mirror crying because you are disgusted in yourself and the breakdowns you had by putting a piece of food in your mouth, I’m sorry for the dark cloud that consumed you. I’m sorry for the relationships lost, I’m sorry for the coldness brought to you, I’m sorry for the fear and shame I brought you, I’m sorry for telling you you were fine when you were slowly dying. But GUESS WHAT, I got the professional help I need & I am conquering you, despite the challenges you still throw at me I WON’T let you win & we are going to beat you and your deadly lies because there is so much more to life than obsessing over food and my body, I want to be happy, I want to fit into clothes again, I want to be healthy and most of all I want my freedom back.
