Many preppers say they can’t find enough storage but rather, we probably aren’t organizing properly to utilize our spaces available to us. I prep in an RV, while I do store some things in my shed, a lot of it is stored indoors. These bins come from the dollar store and they’re great for organization as well as utilizing our space. We partnered up with @longmanandeagle again today to get 100 meals out to @brkthru in Garfield Park, just a few blocks from the factory we ran our business out of for 3 years, and less than a mile from where we’ve been for the last 5 years. It’s hard to know what to do and how to truly make an impact right now, so we focused on helping some folks right here in our community that could use it. We don’t think anyone really cares about a brand’s perspective on politics, religion, or really anything else - so we’ve never used our platform that way. However, we do believe in the old adage “don’t talk about it, be about it”. Black lives matter, equality matters, humanity matters, and it’s wild that those ideas are somehow still controversial. This is our last week delivering food to the scale we’ve been operating for the past few months. We are in awe at the work we have managed to achieve. Challenge after challenge, we have managed to overcome them thanks to the determination of our leaders and the commitment of our volunteers. To clarify, when we say that we will stop operating at this scale, it does not mean that we will stop providing aid to our people. FUA has been providing assistance to Families prior to the pandemic. FUAs goal is to continue helping people in a more sustainable way and focus on people in extreme cases. We will take next week off to evaluate and re-calibrate our organization and we hope you are ready to join our efforts. On behalf of the Familias Unidas en Acción team, we say THANK YOU TO TODXS! . . Esta es nuestra última semana repartiendo alimentos a la escala en que hemos operado por los últimos meses. Estamos anonadadxs del trabajo que hemos podido lograr. We posted this in our story a couple of days ago but it’s worth sharing here as well as a means to further educate you all on how we function as a bail fund. This is what some of our gift baskets look like, our bail agitators give these to individuals when we do bailouts. Many people think we only bail people out of jail and then our work is done, that is not the case. We believe in meeting people where they’re at and we do all we can to meet their basic needs and long-term needs if and whenever possible. Meeting basics needs can help to prevent people from cycling back into the jail/prison system. How can we expect anyone in this world to be well and whole if they don’t have access to nutritious food to eat, if they don’t have access to transportation, if they are unhoused, if they don’t have healthcare, if they don’t have access to mental health, if they don’t have clothes or hygiene products? Meeting basic needs can also help prevent recidivism. This is also a part of how we keep our communities safe! When we bail people out we are also connecting them to resources and attorneys. We see them through to their court dates and talk with them about the racist and predatory bail system that puts poor and working class people in a poverty and debt trap. This is true abolitionist work. So, when you donate to us, know that we are never just bailing people out, we are taking care of people. ⁣This morning’s project is our a drawer in our second bathroom. Untouched since we moved in when I just dumped the contents of a box into it! Here is my process for organizing a drawer: ⠀ ⠀ 1⃣ Gather any unused storage containers so you have them all at your fingertips to utilize. Don’t buy storage stuff ahead of time! Use what you have! ⠀ 2⃣ Empty contents of drawer. Everything. ⠀ 3⃣ Sort items into like products — example: toothbrushing items, liquid medicines, etc. ⠀ 4⃣ Cull out anything that is trash, recycling, donate, and items that you want to keep but can live somewhere else. ⠀ 5⃣ Use your storage containers to make it work! I try not to have anything loose in the drawer. Even one item in a storage container is okay! ⭐MI DESPENSA MÍNIMA⭐. . 📷En la foto veis mi despensa mínima, donde guardo el producto abierto.  Le llamo mínima, porque contiene justo lo que utilizo, ni ➕ ni ➖. . ✅Os dejo mis #tips de orden en la despensa: . 1️⃣VACIALO TODO A LO MARIE KONDO:  Saca todo el contenido de tu despensa y colócalo sobre una mesa o la encimera. Vas a alucinar de todo lo que guardas. . 2️⃣HAZ LIMPIEZA: Una vez vacía, toca limpiar a fondo la despensa. Yo la limpio con mi fórmula de la abuela ➡️ Rellena una botella en spray con agua, chorrito de jabón de los platos, vinagre de limpieza y unas gotitas de aceite esencial de limón 🍋 . 3️⃣TIRA Y DESHECHA: Todo lo caducado a la basura, pero haciendo el reciclaje correcto ♻️Y ese bote de curry en polvo que lleva siglos ahí,  regalalo o busca alguna receta para hacer con él. . 4️⃣ORDENA POR GRUPOS: Agrupa tus alimentos x grupos ➡️legumbres, pasta, arroz, semillas, frutos secos...Así te será más fácil tener el control de lo que tienes y localizar lo que buscas. . 5️⃣UTILIZA CESTAS para guardar botes pequeños y paquetes abiertos.  Así te será  ➕ fácil limpiar y mantener el orden. . 6️⃣GUARDA EN BOTES TRANSPARENTES todos los paquetes de comida abiertos. Fuera ruido visual y tu despensa lucirá más bonita 😉 . 7️⃣CIERRA CON PINZAS HERMÉTICAS: Cuando rellenes tus botes de comida, puede ser que no te quepa todo el paquete.  Yo lo que hago es cerrarlo con una pinza (ojo no de ropa) y guardarlo en un par de cestas en el estante superior para este fin (como se ve en la foto). . 7️⃣ETIQUETA tus botes de comida con una pegatina que indique la fecha de caducidad y el tiempo de cocción.  Yo las pongo en la tapa, pero se pueden poner más visibles. . 8️⃣NO ACUMULES exceso de comida!! CONFESSION!!! My original plan was to sell this type of syrup due to the profit margin🤑 and the little time it takes to make these syrups. I couldve been ordering them in bulk, having it delivered to my house, and mix the sugar and concentrate on my own but....
