It’s been a week since the New York Times publishes this article (see link in bio). I’d be lying if I said that seeing my face on the front of page of an article that was reaching tens of thousands of people didn’t leave me feeling a little vulnerable. . It is not the multitudes of people who have reached out to me (old friends, other veterans and sometimes complete strangers) all asking questions, that made me nervous. . It’s the fact that I know military leaders very high up my chain of command will/have already read this article as well. This poses an interesting conundrum as I am in fact still an active member of the Special Forces Regiment. . To be clear Ernesto and Adam were absolutely straightforward in briefing their intentions and I am under no illusion as to the possible repercussions for violating DOD policies. . Some friends have ask why I would risk losing everything I’ve fought for in the last 17 years of military service? . The answer to that is in the face of every brother and sister I went to the jungle with. To hear theirs stories, to see their pain and then to behold the made complete again, is unlikely anything I’ve ever seen. . As we make a push for equality, we must remember areas where we also have privilege. According to our most recent census, the transgender population in our country is over 10,000 people strong, and that’s just the people with ID cards. The real number is likely to be much higher. A 2016 report found that a majority of this population earns less than PKR10,000 a month. Transgenders in Pakistan are denied healthcare, equal access to education and jobs, are actively persecuted and are rendered invisible in our social structure. They are sidelined, ridiculed, harassed, sexually abused and completely unprotected and unseen by our law enforcement. It is vital that we stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s transgender community as we push for equality, safety, a decrease in sexual harassment and access to jobs and healthcare. We know that there is no gain from national development if it leaves a segment of the population behind. We must now make sure that as we take back some of the power that has been snatched from us, that we are leaving no one behind. The organisation said it had been necessitated to let go of staff in India and pause all its ongoing campaign and research work. This comes after Amnesty linked all govt action to its reports evaluative of the government. Its recent reports raised questions on alleged rights violations during the February Delhi riots and in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Denying the allegations, top government officials said Amnesty is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate over alleged irregularities in receiving foreign funds. It is unclear what specific violations Amnesty’s Indian arm committed, but the group said it is in full compliance of all the laws, and criticised the government for allegedly portraying its fundraising model as a money laundering operation. According to the home ministry, the organization got money into India through the FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) route, which is not allowed in the case of non-profits. Amnesty India did get the governments permission to receive around Rs 1.69 crore from Amnesty UK in 2011-12. But since 2013, that permission has been denied, say sources. In 2018, the Enforcement Directorate froze their accounts, after which Amnesty approached the court and won reprieve. But their accounts were sealed. Last year, the CBI also registered a case a based on a complaint that Amnesty International UK allegedly transferred Rs 10 crore to Amnesty India entities as FDI without the ministrys approval. Another Rs 26 crore has been remitted to Amnesty (India) primarily from UK-based entities without the home ministrys approval. What’s your view on this..comments Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has recently issued notifications regarding various amendments in Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 requiring the implementation of enforcement, Maintenance of Vehicular Documents and E-Challans through portal w.e.f 1.10.2020 for better monitoring and enforcement of MV Rules, MoRTH said in a statement. Use of IT services and electronic monitoring will result in better enforcement of traffic rules in the country and will lead to removing harassment of drivers and would facilitate the citizens, it said. This was required after the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 was passed and was published on 9th August, 2019, the government said. . The amendment inter-alia provides for the definition for Challan, Portal inserted as a requirement for providing the services through IT and further the enforcement of electronic monitoring and enforcement, it added. Details of driving licences disqualified or revoked by the licensing authority shall be recorded chronologically in the portal and such record shall be reflected on a regular basis on the portal has been provided for, the government said and added, thus the record shall be maintained electronically and further the driver behaviour would be monitored. . Provisions have been made for the procedure for Production and Obtaining Certificates in physical as well as electronic form, the validity, issuance of such documents and further the date and time stamping of inspection and identity of the Officer will be recorded, the statement said. It has been provided that if the details of the documents are found validated through the electronic means by the enforcement officer then physical forms of such documents shall not be demanded for inspection, including in cases where there is an offence made out necessitating seizure of any such documents, the statement said. . Many of us (myself included) often honour Imam Hussain’s sacrifice for the first 10 days of Muharram and then that’s it. We stop bad habits for those 10 days and then pick them up again. We decide to watch lectures and learn for the 10 days and then stop until the next mosque program. We think about Imam Hussain, his companions and the women and children for the 10 days and then we send them to the back of our minds. Someone beautifully put it, “the tragedy doesn’t end on the 10th of Muharram - that’s when it begins”. It is now that Imam Zaynul Abideen (AS), the ladies and children are being taken captive and they now have even more hardship to endure. 💥Imam Hussain (AS) did not sacrifice his life for us to remember him for only 10 days throughout the year💥 That being said, we’re going to continue making highlight videos for the amazing and insightful lectures we’ve had this year. City officials said Tuesday they will not prosecute nine people charged with trespassing on a private and gated street where they were met by gun-wielding homeowners. The nine had been issued summonses earlier this month, but Deputy City Counselor Michael Garvin said in a statement that prosecution is not warranted and charges would be refused. Garvin wrote that the cases had been investigated by municipal court prosecutors, who reviewed video of the June incident, conducted interviews and examined property records of the street, Portland Place. He also said residents who are trustees of Portland Place said through their lawyer that they did not want to pursue trespassing charges. Still pending is one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon-exhibiting against two Portland Place homeowners, Mark and Patricia McCloskey. He was armed with an AR-15 rifle and his wife had a semiautomatic handgun. Charging documents say they pointed the guns at protesters, placing the demonstrators in fear of injury. Uniglitterlabs, which is pretty popular in the cosplay community, has pretty much decided to side with the oppressor. They stated they wouldn’t post to their feed this week and want a safe space, but they’re out here posting to their stories with a new color that’s in bad taste to the current situation. When I asked them about what they’re trying to promote and told them about how bad of a timing this is, it was met with a tone deaf answer. They also deleted a reply that was much more politically clear, that they did not care and do not want to understand the importance of Black Live Matter. I was unable to read all of it since they deleted their answer faster than I could open Instagram. What I got from my notifications was that they essentially said George Floyd had already gotten justice. In which he has not the cops still need to be prosecuted. A day after a special CBI court in Lucknow acquitted all 32 accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case, including former deputy prime minister L.K. Advani, former Union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh, newspaper editorials expressed concern over the judgement and pushed the CBI to challenge the verdict. On Wednesday, the special court judge said that the demolition was not pre-planned and that the accused were “trying to stop the mob and not incite them”. He added that there was not enough evidence against the accused and that the court could not probe the authenticity of the audio and video evidence provided by the CBI. In a landmark decision, the Senate has approved the Fast Pace programme for B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc students. In the final semester, students can now go for long Internship programs, or engage in Entrepreneurship endeavours, or do research within the Institute itself. Departments have been instructed to readjust the courses such that there are no laboratory courses in the final semester. Students from 3rd semester onwards will be allowed to take one extra theory course in each semester in addition to the regular academic load provided he/ she has a CGPA greater than or equal to 8. So, you know the vegan memes that say animal protein will destroy your bones because “acid?” Yea, it was goofy thinking a decade ago, and is doubly so now. Bone mineral loss is ACCELERATED by replacing animal protein with “plant based” sources. This is not the first, nor only paper to demonstrate this. In the 2nd photo we have a protein overfeeding study. In Vegan Land, these women should have seen terrible deterioration of their bone density due to “acid.” In fact, we see nothing of the kind, the only downside appears to have been an improvement in lean body mass. This is looking at some more end of life considerations, but inadequate protein and nutrients really make a splash when introduced early in life. The 3rd photo is from entering “vegan diet children failure to thrive” into pubmed. The results one finds there are pretty shocking, but I’m actually taking a different stand: Yes, PLESE DO feed your infants and children a vegan diet. Do it for the planet, do it for climate change. Do it for whatever shortsighted sense of morality you may have on this topic. You see, it’s easy to obscure the downsides of these dietary approaches in adults. We can torture the “data” in terrible studies that suggest veganism is a boon. But kids. KIDS! Oh, Gato! Kids will show what a farce this is in just a few short years. In addition to the run of the mill problems of decreased stature, increased infectious disease susceptibility and decreased cognitive ability (please see photos 3) we will see things worse than all that. If you research this sufficiently, you’ll know what I’m talking about. | Pithoragarh Sexual harassment turns to self-immolation Case of 16 year old girl attempting self-immolation in alleges of rape by elderly people. Girl took this extreme step on April 30 as being harrased by 59 year old man from long time. Father of victim tried to hide the case but came in light when she had been admitted in hospital and gave her statement to doctor. Father admitted her daughter with excuse that she got brunt while cooking meal. 60% of victim body was brunt and after this critical condition doctors of pithoragarh referred her to Susheela Tiwari Government Hospital Haldwani on 1st May . Then She was finally able to give her statement to police on, following which Haldwani police registered a case against the accused elderly person, who works in a government department. Victim was living with in her grandmother in Munsyari where she got sexually harrased by elderly Man and gave threat to hide the circumstances. Senior sub-inspector of Haldwani police Station had registered the case aganist culprit, under:- POCSO Act and IPC section 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentionally insulting any person).
