But that’s not something we can afford to do, and indeed, there are easy, pragmatic solutions which we can all enact in order to turn the ship around. Indeed, it would take just 1% (but not that 1%!) of our economy to fix much of the problem. Ahead of #TerraMadre we talk to Anthony Myint, chef, activist and author originally from Virginia and now residing in San Francisco, where he is a founder of Mission Chinese Food and Zero Foodprint, a nonprofit organization mobilizing the food world around agricultural climate solutions. 01.15.2020 The U.S. CDC and FDA declared multiple e. Coli outbreaks associated with romaine lettuce over. The agencies also lifted the advisory to avoid romaine lettuce grown in the Salinas, CA region. Since the advisory was first issued on November 21, 2019 California leafy greens farmers have taken action to prevent future outbreaks. The LGMA is currently conducting a systematic overhaul of the food safety practices included in our program. We’re working with our industry partner Western Growers to conduct an open, transparent review of the required food safety practices under the LGMA. We will be bringing in outside expertise so that we can incorporate new knowledge and research. The benefit of the LGMA system is that when we make changes to our requirements, they are implemented on thousands of farms that produce over 90% of leafy greens grown in the U.S. Government auditors will then verify growers are following the new practices through mandatory government audits. This potato salad in a jar is so good to rustle up on a Sunday afternoon and, as it keeps in the fridge for 4-5 days, its perfect for a quick weekday lunch. And with this gorgeous autumnal sun looking like its staying for at least the next couple of days, it will leave you with a bit more time to spend outdoors if you can! ☀️ Method: Make a dressing with finely chopped chives, olive oil, apple cider vinegar and honey then season with a little bit of salt and pepper. Fill up your jar by layering the different ingredients: potatoes and eggs are first, then the dressing. You can then add cherry tomatoes, pepper and green beans. QUICK AND EASY CHILLI PANEER RECIPE🧀🌶❤️: So for the food bloggers collab group, this week’s theme is #meatlessmonday so I thought I’d share a quick veggie recipe with you guys that is so so simple! INGREDIENTS: - 2 cups of paneer chopped into cubes - 3 tbsp corn flour ( or enough to evenly coat each cube, shaking off any excess) - vegetable oil - 1 large red onion sliced - 2 bell peppers sliced (any colours of your choice) - 3 tsp chopped corriander - 1/8 tsp salt - Sprinkle of ground black pepper - 1/4 tsp cajun seasoning - Sprinkle of dried mixed herbs - 1/4 tsp garlic salt - 3/4 cup sweet chilli sauce - 1/2 cup hot sauce, I used @lazyferments sauces ‘wing ting’ and ‘brixton’ - Generous squeeze of runny honey - Dollop of ketchup METHOD: 1. Add your paneer cubes into a bowl and sprinkle the corn flour all over. Use your hands to evenly coat all of the cubes. 2. Next add the cubes into a frying pan, heat with some oil and fry. Continue to fry on medium-heat until the paneer is brown and crispy. 3. Take the paneer out of the pan and leave it to one side in a bowl. 4. In the same pan add some more oil, and cook the onion and peppers until the onion is clear and has browned. 5. Next add in the paneer and add the sweet chilli sauce and the hot sauce. Stir until all the paneer is coated in sauce. 6. Next add the ketchup, honey, salt, pepper, garlic salt, cajun seasoning and mixed herbs. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium-low heat. 7. Once all of the spices have cooked and the paneer is all coated, add some freshly chopped coriander and you are done! Hope you guys can all enjoy this recipe and please remember to adjust some of the ingredients according to your preference , (salt/ chilli etc). Wir empfehlen eine Salzlake a 3,5 %. Das heißt 35 g Salz auf 1 l Wasser. ☀️ Nicht zu warm lagern: je wärmer, desto schneller fermentiert das Gemüse. Unsere Empfehlung: Lagere dein Ferment die erste Woche bei Raumtemperatur (20° C) und danach im Kühlschrank oder Keller. 🥒 Schneide das Gemüse etwas gröber, damit es bissfest bleibt. 🥕 Festes Gemüse verwenden: Kohlarten, Wurzel- und Knollengemüse, Stangensellerie, Fenchel und Spargel eignen sich z.B. sehr gut.
