Life isn’t meant to be a before and after shot. The first photo was taken two years ago, and the second photo was taken yesterday, on the same beach. My sister @itsmebrookec is now pregnant, and I’m healing with a completely changing body after a miscarriage. The first photo is then, and the second is now. How amazing is it that our bodies change and expand to serve its current role and needs? How powerful that life now is different than life was then, and that both are filled with beauty and joy and a purpose that is specific to that time? It’s easy to compare our bodies to others who are in completely different seasons than us. Or even compare our own body with past versions of what it was. But how is it fair for my body to be compared to the time when I was boxing daily to help heal from trauma? During that time, people would often comment on my body and ask how I was in such good shape. They didn’t know how deep my emotional pain was that was leading me to work out harder than I ever had in my life. Now, my body has asked me to rest and slow down to help heal from trauma the last few months. Not listening would be incredibly damaging to this body who has fought through so much this year. Your body wants to be listened to, not compared to an unknown stranger on the internet who’s details about the season shes in are unknown to you. Your body deserves to write her own story, and not be forced to fit into someone else’s chapter. Allow your body to write the story it needs to in this season. - @ashleyklemieux on Instagram

Del Mar Foundation approves $180,820 donation to support our community. The current Covid-19 pandemic has had devastating impacts on our country, state, county and city. Since March, we have increased our support of various Del Mar-based organizations to help mitigate the effect of this crisis. The Foundation’s Board of Directors has now approved a $180,820 donation to be made to the City, which will restore funding for budget items important to our community, connected to the Foundation’s mission, that the City had to cut from its budget because of the crisis. We hope that this funding will benefit our community as we work together to overcome the challenges Covid-19 presents to our individual and collective health and safety, and our community’s well-being. Little Athletics Victoria Update: Returning to competition & training All sporting activities are suspended in Victoria until at least 13th September. Centres are advised: • To expect a revised set of training and competition protocols to be released by LAVic upon confirmation from the Victorian State Government that community sport can resume. Note, there is currently no timeframe on the resumption of community sport in Victoria. • To plan the commencement of their season, taking into account the conditions stated in the ‘Return to Competition & Training’ (14th July version) protocols document as a guide. COVID-19 packs for Centres A number of Centres have enquired about providing materials and equipment to enhance the safety of conducting their Centre competitions during the pandemic. To this end, LAVic can advise that it is well advanced in reaching an agreement with an Australian-based manufacturer to supply Centres on a cost basis with ‘COVID-19 sports packs’ containing hand sanitiser, and surface cleaning equipment. Details are expected to be finalised very soon. LAA Transgender Policy LAA has recently released its Transgender inclusion Policy. This policy provides guidance for the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse people in athletics conducted within the Little Athletics framework. This policy and the summary ‘Transgender Policy Checklist’ can be found on the LAVic website. For queries about the policy or its application, please contact the LAVic office in the first instance. There are many appeals for help, so Ive read up and reflected on the best way to do so. Please spend 2 minutes reading this post and give to what makes sense to you. If youve already donated, consider giving more to the various causes below - which are likely to have the biggest impact. Most importantly, Im posting this to encourage others to consider their stance towards climate change and take action - not just with your money but with your voice and your vote. To help with immediate relief, consider the following causes that Ive donated to: - SA CFS and the NSW Rural Fire Service. - Red Cross, who I believe are best placed to support victims so far. - WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service) for wildlife support. SAVEM is a good alternative for those wanting to help in SA. The current situation has a longer-term cause - climate change. We should be listening to our fire chiefs and scientists. Its real, its happening in our own backyard, and we have to act. For those who think Australias emissions dont matter, consider that our coal mining industry is the worlds third-biggest exporter of fossil fuels according to emissions - our exports produce three times more global emissions than all domestic emissions. Australia is backing away from global commitments, lagging far behind for an OECD nation and ignoring the very urgent action required to avert a dark future. Advocacy is the biggest thing we can do here. To support action on climate change, donate to advocacy organisations. Ive donated to: - Australian Conservation Foundation. A good alternative is the Climate Council. - Coalition of Rainforest Nations. International advocacy is critical and this intergovernmental organisation has had a large positive impact on climate change so far. Forgot to do a Thankful Thursday post yesterday so let’s call this Forgetful Friday. Anyways I met @kkeefer120 when @lissimorephoto suggested he knew this guy that used to race that listened to & liked the show. If I ever needed a co-host, he would be great. The only thing I knew about Keefer was that he wore butt-ass ugly Acerbis gear in SX. Anyways he came up to host the show and we became great friends. When he & Dirt Rider parted ways, I was happy to get him on PulpMX.com & add a new dimension to the site. He’s so good on the show, what you hear is what you get with him. He’s as authentic as they come in an industry that isn’t always. Him & @mrskeefer120 have become close personal friends to @pookiematthes & I & we’ve had so much fun hanging with them. BE ON THE LOOKOUT!!! Hyannis FD has established a new bike unit. The bike unit will be out on patrol around the Main St and Harbor areas this summer on weekends. The unit will travel with 2 FF/EMTs and have basic life support capabilities. The goal is to supplement responses in high pedestrian and car traffic areas while being able to engage with the community. Thank you to Barnstable Police Department for allowing FF Riley and FF Omerzu to attend a quick training with them and allow us to borrow numerous bikes. One of the most important things I have learnt in my relationship with @rodjcooper is something that is so obvious but I think people tend to forget. . Men and women are very different. Men are not just bigger hairier versions of women, and women aren’t just smaller less hairy versions of men, we are sooo different. . Different in every way imaginable, our hormones, the way our brains work etc. but also different in the same way that any human is different to another. . We have grown up differently, been educated differently, we have travelled to different countries, been part of different communities, we have experienced different things, we have different genes and we look different. . We each have our own set of strengths and weaknesses and when we as a couple take the time to appreciate and understand these things about ourselves and our partner we can support each other better and feel more loved and connected. . Due to the restrictions in place for community sport due to COVID-19, things will look different this season at Nth Curly, however please rest assured that our amazing and dedicated management teams are putting the final touches to what looks like it will be an amazing season. 🌊 Jet ski training is in full swing as our clubs rev up for the coming season! Nuray & Sandra – unterwegs mit CORI Nuray und ich haben uns in unserer 1. Rehabilitation 2017 kennen und lieben gelernt. Dann haben wir uns danach nur einmal gesehen und nach 2 Jahren sahen wir uns dann 10 Tage für 24 Stunden. Unser allererste Roadtrip und dann auch noch zusammen! Ich bin von Düsseldorf aus nach Garmisch-Partenkirchen zu Nuray gefahren – ganze 9 Stunden war ich unterwegs. Es war ein so großartiges Gefühl. Ein Gefühl von Kontrolle und Freiheit. Es war einfach so so so aufregend. Wir starteten dann direkt von Garmisch aus, nach Slowenien. Wir sind Straßen gefahren, die wir uns niemals zugetraut hätten, aber wir waren zusammen. Zusammen stark. Die Krankheit rückte in den Hintergrund und wir genossen einfach alles. Wir standen im Stau, aber das war egal. Wir waren erschöpft, aber das war egal. Wir waren voller Energie, Abenteuerlust und Lebenslust. Die Sorgen waren einfach so weit weg, dass wir zwar darüber geredet haben, aber sie waren so fern und das tat uns so gut. Cori brachte uns außerdem noch nach Kroatien und erfüllte uns so einen Wunsch, der lange offenblieb. Wir waren beide schon so lange nicht mehr im Meer und hatten richtig Sehnsucht. Die erste Berührung mit dem Meer war einzigartig und dieses Erlebnis zu teilen – einfach hammer. Wir hatten auch einige Regentage und verbrachten auch viel Zeit in Cori. Wir haben Spiele gespielt, uns Kaffee und meistens Nudeln gemacht. Wir kamen gut klar und das haben wir so geschätzt, dass es so harmonisch abgelaufen ist. Auf einem Campingplatz in Österreich haben wir uns gar nicht wohl gefühlt, so dass wir einfach früher gefahren sind und 3 Stunden woanders hingefahren sind. Man ist einfach so frei in dem, was man gerade tun will. Wir wollen uns ganz ganz herzlich bei dem Heldencamper Projekt bedanken und hoffen, dass viele weitere Helden davon profitieren können. ❤ - @projekt.heldencamper on Instagram
