They are documenting the Bonneville (Bear River) Cutthroat Trout that migrate up to spawn by recording length, weight, sex and taking a fin clipping for genetic research. Non native trout are returned down stream below the dam to prevent their invasion up stream in prime cutthroat spawning habitat. Tylers work was part of QCNRs collaborative summer employment program. Well there were a few that guessed DaBryan correctly. Here is what I know from my research. There were 3 builders of 4 door broncos Centurion, Magnum and DaBryan. With Centurion and Magnum not truly being a Bronco at all like most people think. Centurion and Magnum started with a truck chassis and just used Bronco sheet metal from Ford and they built everything else. Nothing about them are truly Bronco. So DaBryan only built a total of 35 - 4 door Broncos. These are truly 4 door broncos unlike thier counterparts. DaBryan actually started with a Bronco chassis rather than a truck and went from there. Up until last week there were only 2 DaBryan Broncos known to exist. Both of those were the Brick(87-91) body. This one was sent to us by a friend and it turned out to be a THIRD DaBryan and currently the ONLY known OBS bodied DaBryan known to still exist. It was sitting in a field in Arkansas. We got it picked up and headed to get up and running. Story is it was parked because the battery wouldnt hold a charge. Needless to say we are pretty stoked to own one of these rare pieces of history. We will keep everyone posted about its progress. Searun Cutthroat # 59 was born in the Spring of 2011 in Johns Creek Mason county, died in the Fall of 2015 chasing chum salmon in freshwater, was the daughter of a mother that had never entered saltwater, and migrated to the ocean 4 separate times during its 4 year life. Since the expeditions of Lewis and Clark, Cutthroat Trout anglers have recognized this species ability to express diverse life histories and told the stories of their observations in journals, newspapers and notebooks. Over 200 years later, anglers, scientists and managers are using otoliths (earbones) from cutthroat to build on what others have documented and fill important gaps in our management. With the help of all those supporting this effort, this study told the story of 48 individual searun cutthroat and highlights the role of small, resident trout in our streams. The existing tracks were installed in the 1970s and are beyond their serviceable lifespan. The street structure supporting the tracks has deteriorated due to water leaks, traffic, and overall age of the existing street surface, which requires increased maintenance to operate safe and reliable service. There are a number of different ways to understand what Kenny is about. : You can look at a map of his 42 vineyards: 240 miles between his most southerly parcels in Arroyo Seco and his most northerly vyds in Redwood Valley. That’s roughly Greenwich CT to Alexandria VA. Kenny has cultivated relationships with 27 different farmers across 14 or more AVAs. : You can look at his bottles: eye-catching labels; aesthetics anticipated the rage of craft beer. No capsule to reduce waste. His back label has “1% for the Planet,” which means he donates 1% of his gross sales to non-profits supporting the environment. : You can observe the man himself. Shorts. Hooded sweatshirt. Baseball hat. A bit weather-beaten. Some scruff. Athletic. (Yes, Kenny is an avid boarder on surf, snow and streets.) A silver hoop adorns one ear. You may notice his Thai ancestry and consider the unique vision and determination he must possess to establish a winery, now 18 years old, which comprises apx 25 wines from more than 20 different varietals. : You can taste the many offerings: wines connected to their varietal but a zippy, more fruit-driven, more complex, lighter-bodied profile than most other CA wines. You’ll notice how every single wine gracefully syncs with food. You may also notice that his wines can be more copiously enjoyed because they have lower alcohol levels, supporting spontaneous fermentation (he only inoculates for one wine). : You can notice who appreciates his wines. Oh, my, what an adventure yesterday - we often hook big pike and muskies while fishing for walleye, crappies and bass - but usually they bite you off and you never get to see them. Not yesterday. Buddy John Monteith was jigging a 1/4 oz jig tipped with a minnow and using 6 pound test line. We both spot-locked our boats side-by-side, so there was a narrow lane between us. Then I netted this girl for John in my walleye net. And the hook fell out of her mouth the second she went into the net! Talk about good luck! I put her on the bumpboard and she was 48 and change, with the most massive sides / girth Ive ever seen. I could barely lift her up. And when I did, she went berserk because she was so fresh, and leapt right out of my hands and back into the lake. So this is the only shot we got of her as she was air bound and leaving!
