The Platoon Assault Course (PAC) is an exercise that concludes the Infantry Professional Term. It is a true test of teamwork and mettle that they have built over the preceding eight months. The inter-platoon race started off with Combat Evaluation Task List (CETL) where the cadets are required to complete combat tasking such as leopard crawl and carrying of jerry cans within a stipulated duration. The cadets then proceeded to skills at arms whereby the cadets have to complete various combat tasking. Cadets also competed with each other to strip and reassemble their SAR21 rifles, all with the additional twist of being blindfolded; relying solely on their partner’s instructions to complete the task. Next, the cadets tackled the SAFTI Endurance Obstacle Course (SEOC). A cognitive test followed immediately after, to test their mental capacity while experiencing great fatigue. The cadets then raced to the SAFTI Live Firing Range for a 100m shoot. Finally, they raced to the finishing line at SAFTI MI Parade Square, burning every single ounce of energy they had in them. In the face of stiff competition, Platoon 1 from Hotel Wing emerged victorious in this rendition of the event with their Platoon legacy engraved on the coveted Goh Keng Swee Challenge Trophy. Congratulations to the winners and all Professional Term Infantry cadets for making it thus far! A few days ago, my roommate Olivia and I went to Klyde Warren Park to check out the @saytheirnamesmemorial before it was gone to a different location. And it was very moving. Seeing the photos shows that we must stand for justice and stand together as mentioned in the piece. Everyone was very respectful towards one another while walking around. The gentleman in the last photo caught my attention because of his shirt, and I talked to him afterwards with my roommate. After I showed him the photo, he told me his name, which was Brandon McKinney and that if I posted the photo to mention his name so he can find this.
