“O bell’anni dell’oro” recita in alto il cartiglio sorretto da due fanciulle!Secondo la mitologia classica l’Età dell’oro fu un tempo leggendario in cui sulla Terra regnava una perpetua felicità. Gli essere umani vivevano in pace senza bisogno di leggi, non dovevano affaticarsi a coltivare la terra perché essa regalava spontaneamente i suoi frutti, non avevano bisogno di ripari perché la primavera era eterna. Il motto che accompagna la seducente immagine era stato scelto come titolo dell’intermezzo teatrale cantato nel 1539 durante i festeggiamenti per le nozze di Cosimo I e la bella Eleonora di Toledo. I Medici si sentivano I fautori dell’età dell’oro di Firenze fin dai tempi di Lorenzo il Magnifico e utilizzarono sovente questo tema per alludere alla prosperità del loro buon governo. Allievo di Vasari, #JacopoZucchi fu il suo principale collaboratore partecipando alla decorazione del Salone dei Cinquecento e dello Studiolo di Francesco I in Palazzo Vecchio. Nel 1572 si stabilì a Roma diventando l’artista prediletto di Ferdinando #deMedici per cui dipinse intorno al 1575 questo raffinato quadretto, popolato di un’umanità nuda, giocosa e danzante, in armonia con la natura. EN The motto “O bell’anni dell’oro” [beautiful years of a golden age]that appears in the scroll held by two young girls hovering in the air is a reference to the title of the musical interlude sung in 1539 during the celebrations for the nuptials of Cosimo I #deMedici and Eleonora di Toledo. According to classical mythology, the Golden Age was a legendary time in which eternal happiness reined on the Earth. Humans lived in peace with no need for laws. They did not have to tire themselves out by cultivating the land, which spontaneously offered its fruits. And there was no need to build shelters, as it was always springtime. Today my bone marrow is singing like a lovebird a wounded deer trying for resurrection a polar bear trying for food sky and ice its teeth tearing open the flesh of my back. Without the blossom of the land I will turn into a fossil or a marble angel on a pedestal above a human grave. Wolves are expecting a new birth in the woods they are also hoping for the hunters death for I cant be born again without a humans death. My own death doesnt count I would turn into a fossil a language for the blind a sparrow mute song. I no longer need my body as it was once. Sing me eat me dream me up like the Big Dipper. Blinking with blood soaked wings I am born from my spine like some wondrous freak from her own flesh. I have become voracious a nuptial of wild animal wounds. In the darkness of seedy streets I lost my arms thighs and mouth. My veins dont need their beacon of heroin my crotch of assorted features is like a frozen flag. Soon love will be a fury of cartilages nerves blood and skin. The woman that I am becoming doesnt need a glass slipper or a Rapunzels braid nor Sleeping Beautys lips to attract a man. Men have become useless like kitchen utensils in my new world. Making love to me is to become one with that winged thing on my back hungry for blood. Stories of Lord Krishna with Morals : 6️⃣ Krishna killing Aristasura : One day, a massive bull came to Vrindavan and started attacking the villagers. Nobody knew where it had come from. Everybody started running helter-skelter to save their lives. They went to Krishna for help. When Krishna faced the bull, he realised that it was possessed by a demon called Arishthasura. Krishna managed to tackle the bull and pierce its horns! Finally, the demon left the bull’s body and bowed to the Lord. He said that he was a disciple of Lord Brihaspati and had been cursed to become a bull as he had disrespected his teacher. Moral - Always respect your Teacher. Weve asked you which painting can be seen on the wall behind Elena Luksch-Makowsky on the photograph. Et voilà! Here it is (almost) in full size! As the title Adolescentia suggests, the painting shows an allegory of adolescence. A naked young woman standing in a garden is surrounded by a group of curious boys. In her hand she holds a saffron crocus – symbol of an ancient aphrodisiac – which is also blossoming in the vernal meadow around her. The painting was part of the XVII exhibition of the Vienna Secession and might contain an allusion to the idea of Ver Sacrum (Sacred Spring). The motto of the Union of Austrian Artists refers to a religious practice of ancient Italic peoples, that sent out the young generation to build new colonies. “Echo” In a dream she walks towards her own death, the great “Gajavahini” the river bearing one, the all Mother, walks towards the end. We follow her gentle stride. Petals are petrified, but the mother calms them : If obscurity is Darkness, than clarity is Light. If Clarity is the destination than Obscurity is the Journey. Just Breath, you’ll get to the light through this darkness. This darkness is not an obstacle but instead a pathway. They both are connected, life gestating inside the womb in tranquil darkness and beings born into an illusionary world with their eyes closed. Where eyes believe what they see, the ears get seduced by words, taste is enslaved to habits and the mind procrastinates relentlessly. Soon which disconnects us from our deeper unity and through our suffering we urge the calming darkness to show us the way again, the way to the Mother. It is one, this light & dark, encircled . It’s the darkness of hate which needs to be confronted with the light of love and it’s the sensory world of light, which needs to be absolved by diving back into the ethereal darkness. With that the Elephant mother, draped in premonition, kept walking towards her own death, accepting it, imagining how a forest will emerge out of her. In deep meditation we who loved her, found ourselves walking alongside her. “Can we too gift our bodies back to the Earth?” From her heart a ripple echoed, she put her trunk on our shoulders. We felt her burden but we also felt her strength. The flowers were not petrified anymore of the torrential rain, they soothed the blistered feet of the mother. That’s why the Earth cracks without water. And when we woke up, a forest had sprouted where she stood yesterday. Her words echoed. To walk through the dark, like it’s love and to embrace the light, like it’s a new beginning. Rivers poured forth from the eyes and lurched forth towards the forest. [...] La historiadora del arte estadounidense Merlin Stone recoge en su libro When God Was a Woman, la idea de cómo las sociedades matriarcales, de pacíficas y benevolentes tradiciones de adoración a la Diosa (incluyendo la sociedad del Antiguo Egipto) fueron atacadas, minadas y, finalmente, destruidas casi por completo por las antiguas tribus, incluyendo los hebreos, y más tarde por los primeros cristianos. Para ello, intentaron destruir cualquier símbolo visible de lo sagrado femenino, incluyendo obras de arte, esculturas, tejidos y literatura. La razón es que querían que el Sagrado Masculino se convirtiera en la potencia dominante y gobernara sobre las mujeres y las energías de la Diosa. Según Stone, la Torá o Antiguo Testamento fue en muchos sentidos un intento masculino de volver a escribir la historia de la sociedad humana, el cambio del simbolismo femenino al masculino. Si pensamos un poco sobre todo este asunto, todas deberíamos estar un poco cabreadas con la idea de haber sido creadas por dioses barbudos a partir de la costilla de un hombre y por otras mil historias similares que nos relegan a meras figuras reproductoras de pechos fecundos. Krishnas appearance is significant on many levels, and is something of a paradox. Hes the beginningless Supreme Person, eternally existing everywhere at all times. He isnt born like we are—forced by karma into a succession of material bodies. Krishna appears in His same permanent, spiritual form whenever and wherever He likes. When He does appear, He chooses His devotees to play the roles of His father and mother. He Himself plays the role of their child, and acts like a human being, while also performing superhuman activities that are impossible for anyone else to imitate. “A Mermaid” was painted in 1900 by John William Waterhouse. It’s possible that Waterhouses painting was inspired by Alfred Lord Tennysons poem The Mermaid (1830) which includes the lines: . Who would be A mermaid fair, Singing alone, Combing her hair . Waterhouse was also interested in the darker mythology of the mermaid as an enchantress. Mermaids traditionally were sirens who lured sailors to their death through their captivating song. They were also tragic figures as mermaids could not survive in the human world which they yearned for and men could not exist in their watery realm, so any relationship was doomed. In Waterhouses painting no sailors are depicted so that despite being a siren the mermaid is shown as an alluring rather lonely figure. The atmosphere evoked is one of gentle melancholy as the mermaid sits alone in an isolated inlet, dreamily combing out her long hair with her lips parted in song.
