One year ago we left our home and set on a journey into the unknown in our RV. Little did we know that our full time traveling RV life would be cut short. We didn’t HAVE to stop traveling, we chose to and sometimes I miss it. We had a lot of dreams and plans and it would have been some amazing adventures. But that’s ok! We can always travel in the future. But now we’re living new adventures that I thought wouldn’t happen for years. We’re building a homestead from scratch, living off grid and truly loving every minute of it, even the tough stuff. We’re still living in the RV but hopefully we’ll start building our Adobe home soon. I’m excited to experience a new adventure each new day. - @roguepreparedness on Instagram

The campground does not take reservations, it is a first-come first-served situation. $20 per night. It has no hookups and no RV dump, so make sure your RV is prepared before you arrive. Arizona Road Trip: Jerome⁠ Jerome was founded in 1876 and was once the 4th largest town in Arizona Territory. The population peaked at 15,000 but is now a mere 450. Jerome is an old mining town turned into a trendy, eclectic hilltop artist community. Not far from Sedona, Jerome boasts sweeping views and many art studios, galleries, and saloons/biker bars. The drive to Jerome is not one you’ll soon forget given the narrow and steep ascent, but the views once you arrive are breathtaking. Should you be a fan of ghost stories, be sure to stay at The Jerome Grand Hotel which sits atop the hill overlooking the Verde Valley. Formerly the United Verde Hospital, the five-story Spanish Mission-style building projects the coolest Frankensteinesque-castle vibe in Arizona. The hospital closed in 1950 and remained empty for decades until it was reinvented as a hotel. If you are looking for a great place to eat, the Asylum restaurant at the Jerome Grand Hotel occupies the lower floor. מחזור נובמבר בבה״ד 1 הוא הקשה ביותר. שלושה וחצי חודשים של כפור. הצוערים שמגיעים מהחום והלחות של המרכז מקבלים את ההזהרות מראש. דרך שמועות, דרך חברים שהיו. יפלו לך האצבעות. יקפא לך האף. מה יכלתי לעשות? נפלתי על מחזור נובמבר. לקחתי בגדים חמים. * השנה 1990. נחלצתי מהחפ״שיות לטובת עתיד טוב יותר. אבל צריך היה לעבור את זה בשלום. זה אומר לא לחטוף עבירת משמעת. * באתי מחוגי הסיירות, אבל ניווטים אף פעם לא באו לי בזרימה. אפילו בבית אני מסוגל להתבלבל בניווט, אז בטח שבואדיות הר הנגב. היינו משננים את המסלול בעל פה, מתחלקים לזוגות, חובשים מכשיר קשר על הגב ויוצאים אל החושך. אחד מנווט, השני גולם - מלווה. נהנתי להיות גולם. אני אוהב את המדבר. * אני זוכר את הניווט עם אורי ישראלי. אורי הוא נווט מצוין. הוא גבוה ממני ונחוש. כל אלה גרמו לכך שעבדתי קשה במהלך הניווט שלו. הוא פשוט שעט. אני זוכר את הרגע הזה במישור הרוחות שבו משום מה הוא מיהר. אולי כי הניווט שלי נמרח. צעדתי אחריו בצעדי ריצה והקור - - * הקור של הר הנגב הוא קור עז. קור חודר. קור דוקר וכואב. זהו קור צלול שהאויר אינו מסרב לו, אלא להיפך - הוא מסייע ומוליך אותו בחדווה לכל פינה במדבר, סייען מטעם הטבע. אבל זה בכלל לא הסוף. יש חברה שמצטרפת והופכת את החוויה לבלתי אפשרית: הרוח. כשהרוח נוסעת באויר הקר ממילא, הקור מקבל משמעויות שקשה להסביר. המילים לכך צריכות לבוא מתחומי הכאב והסבל. בקור הזה אתה מגלה את הפלא של השפה כי האף שלך באמת קופא. האזניים משדרות מצוקה באופן קבוע כסירה שעלתה על שרטון אי שם בקוטב הצפוני. הזיעה החמה מציצה מבעד לחרכים שבבד והופכת לפסים מייסרים על הצואר ובעורף. כזה הוא הקור במישור הרוחות אשר צמוד למצפה רמון. * אורי צעד בבטחה נחושה. אני רצתי בייסורים של אבדן עשתונות וחשבתי לעצמי שאולי, אולי אני לא אוהב עכשיו את המדבר. רק רוצה את הטיולית המעופשת. להכנס לדובון. להיות עטוף. להיות בבית כלשהו. * כעבור שבוע חטפתי עבירת משמעת. אורי סיים את הקורס. אני הגעתי למחזור מרץ לנסיון שני. בתמונה: כאן חיכתה הטיולית לפני שלושים שנה. #מצפהרמון #קורסקצינים #מישורהרוחות #בהד1 #קור #מדבר #נגב #סיפור #ניווט - @mitzpe.ramon.experience on Instagram

Greetings from Benton Hot Springs! We want to reaffirm our dedication to providing a safe and clean place for you and our staff during this current situation with the coronavirus. It has been and still is our top priority. While our remote facilities, generally provide ample space and limited public interaction, we our stepping up our cleaning efforts in the midst of this situation. Currently there is little evidence that indicates the coronavirus can survive in outside elements. Nevertheless, we continue to clean each tub after every use with a strong bleach solution. We will disinfect all portable toilets daily. We have just completed deep cleaning in all the rooms, houses and common areas. Additionally we are disinfecting all surfaces and linens after each use and common areas continually. We hope these further cleaning processes with ease concerns. This situation is fluid and we will reassess our procedures and operations as conditions warrant. We understand everyone is in a different place when it comes to this situation. However, we would like to reiterate that the director of the CDC stated that the risk is low and encouraged people to go about their life with a common sense approach. TRAVESÍA🎿🏔 . . Esta vez por la localidad de📍Leleque, ubicada al noroeste de la provincia de Chubut, Argentina. Gran parte de la historia de este lugar tiene que ver con una de las mayores expropiaciones de tierras a los aborígenes del sur, la “Conquista del Desierto”. Antes de emprender cuesta arriba @lopezechavarri , @juancruzsnow y @pablofirpo1 visitaron a un Mapuche, llamado “Curiñanco” quien les contó anécdotas e historias del lugar, una de ellas es cuando viajo a Italia para poder pelearle a Benetton sus tierra donde sus ancestros transitaban. También le pidieron permiso para poder seguir camino ya que el lugar por donde tenían que seguir estaba interrumpido por tierras de Curiñanco, quien respondió; a quien tienen que pedirles permiso es a la Pachamama y no a un alambrado. - @dukeonline on Instagram

What do teepees and stationery have to do with one another? Although that sounds like the beginning of a joke, for me it’s about crafting something by ones own hands. It’s what my work is all about. This teepee was made by the Hualapai tribe here in Arizona. They set this up for people to see how they made homes through the years. I am always moved by HAND made necessities. Why are we as humans moved to adorn and decorate something so essential? Why does the form change when the function hasn’t? Why do we go to great lengths to throw beautiful elaborate parties when it’s only a day in life? But we do and have so for thousands of years. Every day the impulse to create useful, beautiful things and share them pulses through me and yet I still question why. My logical mind can’t make sense of it, but my hands continue creating.
