“Sweetest” private wine tasting for lunch! @lincoln_vu Highlights of the tasting were Michele Chiarlo Nivole Moscato d’Asti and Tosti Moscato d’Asti Organic. The Nivole showed itself as a top one of its game with clean ripe green fruits coped with elderflowers, fresh peppercorn’s skin and good minerality. The finish was elegant, not cloying yet very long-lasting! The discovery of the day was the organic Moscato d’Asti from Tosti. Normally (and Easily) the funkiness of organic wines turn people away. However the freshness of this organic Moscato d’Asti surprised the participants with wild gooseberry, chamomile and interesting shiso/coriander touch. The colour changes slightly every year but it’s always pretty epic... this rosé of Blaufränkisch from Burgenland, Austria spends a short time on skins and 7-8 months in barrels. This new vintage is a bit wild and fizzy, a bit less creamy than previous years though still textured, with the soft bubbles giving it that extra layer of tongue tingling freshness. How do you toast the twilight? ✨ Sound 🔊 for tranquil waves💧 ⠀ When we drove out to Presquile two weeks ago, we got turned around trying to find our campsite 🏕 After a few twists, our car emerged facing Lake Ontario right at twilight 😲🌟 I was so overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of this vast expanse of dusky lavender and egg shell hues, that I knew we needed to get back out there and enjoy it properly (and not while panicking over the incoming darkness and need to set up camp 🙃)⠀ ⠀ It took a lot of ice, but we managed to keep our 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟖 @featherstonewinery 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒔é cold for 2 days in anticipation of our little journey. Against the dwindling light, the gentle roar of the lake, skipping stones, this stellar blend of Cabernet Franc (42%) 🌹 Gamay (26%) 🌹 Pinot Noir (24%) 🌹 and Merlot (8%) 🌹 was the perfect way to just soak in the present moment. With this very mucky week we have been having, memories of this splash of colour on a cooling summer evening was definitely worth reminiscing about.⠀ ⠀ What is your favourite summer memory? Im reserving this one for the big day... 🍻 Day 12 was from the magic makers at @mikkellerbeer - straight outta #Copenhagen no less. This beautifully-designed can houses a pale ale inside that surprisingly, is only 2.2% ABV. Quite freaked out by the low alcohol level but keen to try it out soon - looks so good! 🍺 Day 13 arrived in bottle form from the dudes at @gooseisland with this Belgian style wild ale fermented in wine barrels with 🍒 - the idea has me hooked and at 6.7% strong, could well have me cooked too. A very nice looking bottle indeed. 🍻 And finally Day 14 yesterday supplied me with a cool little can that contains a fresh take on best bitter + some New World hops. Here’s a little something you all might fancy with that lovely liquid alchemist strawberry as inspiration... it looks tricky but it’s really easy!! It’s called Strawberry Blonde Ingredients: 1oz mulholland vodka 3/4oz liquid alchemist strawberry 3/4oz half & half 3/4oz lemon juice Top with cava Strawberry powder Rose water Process: 1. Combine mulholland vodka, liquid alchemist strawberry, half & half, and lemon juice in a shaker. The ingredients should be poured in that order and ideally cold (it’s fine if they’re not though). 2. Add light ice and shake cocktail 3. Fine strain into small tin and then dryshake 4. Pour into flute 5. Top with cava Strawberry powder and dressing the glass: The strawberry powder is just freeze dried strawberry’s from Trader Joe’s ground slowly in a mortar and pestle. It’s so easy!! As for the glass, you just spray the glass with rose water and salt bae the strawberry powder on top! Zurcator Xmas edition - una lager estilo Dopplebock, peanut butter cup. Una Lager navideña con objetivo de balancear las maltas ricas de chocolate con nueces. Va a ser cremosa de medium to high body. Estoy trabajando para traérselas peanut allergy free. Vendra con un Logo / pintura nueva. 3. Zurclaus rauchbier. Sera una cerveza ahumada estilo lager aleman oscura de sabores fuertes con sabor y aromas ahumado fuerte. Coming in time for Fall - two net pet nats from Gilbert Family Wines in New South Wales. The Gilbert family dates back to Australia since 1839, and as winemakers since 1847. In 2004 father and son team, Simon and Will, began Gilbert Family Wines.⠀ ⠀ RIESLING 2020: zippy and zingy, loaded with fresh citrus, lemon curd flavors. A fine bead and cloudy to boot. Fruit was destemmed, pressed and then racked, where fermentation was then initiated. Happy Tuesday! Today on Cocktails with Keelin I’m showing you how to make a boozy watermelon granita. This is the perfect adult treat for the holiday weekend coming up or just summer in general. Who doesn’t love an adult slushee?! Ingredients 2-3 cups of watermelon 4 oz. light rum 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 lime squeezed Slice of watermelon as garnish Directions- In a blender add in all the ingredients. Blend until completely smooth. Pour into an 9x9 metal baking pan. Put in the freezer so it sits flat and take out every 1-2 hours and break up with a fork. Repeat until you have a really crunchy pieces that can be broken up into flakes. This okay to do overnight, my pan had a cover but if leaving out might cover with cling wrap if you pant doesn’t have a cover. Serve in a glass or bowl with a spoon and garnish with a slice of watermelon. Without a doubt this was the single busiest day we have had at LP since Nadia and I bought the property! . . We picked our #SenchukVineyard Pinot Noir, which is actually the 6th(!) vintage from our vines. Thought it would be fun to check in on the first vintage (2015)... absolutely delicious! (pic 1 & 2) . . Put some of our 777 clone Pinot in Amphora for #TheFreak, and the rest into tank for ferment (pics 3,4 &5) . .
