There’s nothing like a trip out to the movies – but social distancing makes it a challenge. So how about this then? The return of the good ol’ drive-in cinema, just like in 1950s America. And what a stunning location! @watergatebay in Cornwall, overlooking the coast. The mean-looking Touareg Black Edition that I am sampling from @Volkswagen_UK was a great car to take – its interior is like a luxury lounge. Much more comfy than the local multiplex. Obviously I had to watch something appropriate to the surroundings – which meant ‘Point Break’ of course. On this day two years ago, I had the incredible opportunity of giving a TEDx talk. It’s an experience I still look back on and am proud of because of the determination and resilience it took to get to the point of standing on a stage and talking to an audience about (what I once thought) was one of my biggest failures, as well as how I was able to apply a growth mindset to work towards a purpose in life that’s not contingent on a leadership position, specific career path or goal 🌱 I’m all for looking towards the future, but sometimes it’s really nice to look back and reflect on how far you’ve come. 16 year old Charlotte couldn’t see a life past a specific leadership position, the 17 year old gave a talk about it and at the sage age of 19 (irony intended), I look back on that girl with smile and pride, still determined as ever to help people connect the dots so that they can be empowered to lead themselves. ❤️ - @goodforcharlie on Instagram

Yesterday evening one of my long-term dreams came true as I got to debut in the role of Lucia di Lammermoor in Donizetti’s opera of the same name. This role is absolutely incredible - a huge challenge both vocally and dramatically for a soprano! - and I feel so lucky and privileged to have had the chance to interpret this amazing bel canto heroine! 😍🎶❤️ Already before I was into opera, I was mesmerized by the little clip of Lucia’s mad-scene in the 90s classic film Fifth Element, where the blue Diva performs... 👽💫😅 And as I got to know this music more and more, I was simply hooked! I want to thank everybody who has coached me into this role over the years, and a special thanks to my fabulous colleagues on stage and in the pit! ❤️🙏 It’s an absolute pleasure to perform with all of you!
