14 years ago today, me and my friend @jamiemoore777 went to war in Salford for the British Super-Welterweight title. It was a highly anticipated fight at the time with both of us having aggressive, exciting, all-action styles. But I think it’s fair to say that it exceeded all expectations and has gone down as one of the best domestic clashes of all-time. Fathers are understandably protective of their partners and babies, but if this impulse means they want to ‘save’ their partner from the pain of labour it will undermine the support they give. On 8.23.2019, Emiliano Rey Hernandez made his way into MY world❤. One which has seen me go through much struggles, pitfalls, moments of happiness and ultimately, the great journey I am on now. I’ve never known a joy like this. What an interesting journey it has been to find and create my tribe. While we plan and plan, God has other plans for us🙏🏻 Yesterday we received the news that my father in law does not have long to live, and within a few hours we decided to grant him his final wish of seeing Joe and myself get married. It’s not how we had planned for it to happen, but it was a decision made whole heartedly. Parenting during a pandemic is… interesting. 1. Most of our family has only met Nia online. In fact, it wasn’t until she was four months old that my grandmother got to hold her. Every single one of my aunts, uncles, and cousins are still waiting to see her in-person. 2. Vaccinations have been hard to come by. Nia’s totally up to date (anti-vaxxers can see themselves out), but walk-in clinics haven’t been super accommodating. We’re still waiting to snag a paediatrician. 3. I’ll finish on a positive. I worked from home for nearly five months and got to spend SO MUCH TIME with my daughter. During my radio show, I was able to give my wife a break and even squeeze in bath time during commercials!
