One step at a time, the approach to this particular “summit” is a long one. As most of you know, we’ve been filming ‘La Liste - Everything Or Nothing’ with @jeremieheitz and @samanthamatten for the last two winters. The film was set to release this fall, but #Covid19 has forced us to postpone production for a year. The good news is that the project’s still going forward, and we have one more year to slot ourselves into the high alpine with Sam and Jérémie. And it also gives the lines on Jeremie’s new list another year to come into condition. From our friend Jade Davis! Please be careful out there everyone! I had a buddy trigger a small slab avalanche today in North Idaho. He was testing a South facing aspect on a small hill and it released a 40 foot wide slab that slid 25 feet. Slab broke at a Depth of around 12 inches as you can see it the picture. Be careful out there friends all this fresh snow is fun to play in but you need to play smart. The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace. Mahatma Ghandi I have felt all sorts of emotions in the recent few days, may that be sadness, sorrow, anger, and frustration. Being a privileged white male I obviously cannot begin to fathom the oppression, hatred, and racism against Black Lives, POC, and LGBTQ that has gone on for generations for far too long. I have had my own personal “speed bumps” with the law and to think that if I didn’t happen to be a white male that chances are the outcomes would have been much different. This realization makes me want to cry, and is simply not fair. Why should I get treated differently? The needle is getting moved before our eyes, for the better. When I look back at this time I know I want to be standing on the right side of history right behind our modern day MLK’s, Nelson Mandelas, Ghandis, and Rosa Parks. I will not be silent. Winter stoke....... here’s a real fun step down I spied outside of Braylorn BC while filming for #FSOT 📸 @rickard.lovgren with the new season approaching the stoke builds and I love stoking it up!! @freshsetoftracks is a documentary about that stoke, about some amazing locations with a group of really fun people from all over the world. We set out to do something different and we did.!! We (well the producers @simon_selberg @rickard.lovgren @jockeshygglo ) are still hard at work trying to finalize the music rights so the film can be released on ITunes. One step at a time, the approach to this particular “summit” is a long one. As most of you know, @sherpascinema has been filming ‘La Liste - Everything Or Nothing’ with @jeremieheitz and @samanthamatten for the last two winters. The film was set to release this fall, but #Covid19 has forced them to postpone production for a year. The good news is that the project’s still going forward, and they have one more year to slot themselves into the high alpine with Sam and Jeremie. And it also gives the lines on Jeremie’s new list another year to come into condition. It’s likely the snowpack has reached peak SWE in mountains around SW Montana. This means the pack has reached its maximum depth for the season at upper elevations. With a significant warming trend in the forecast, the snowpack will begin to transition towards a warmer, wetter spring pack. This trend will increases the wet snow avalanche danger. A good approach to managing wet snow avalanche problems is to start early and end early.
