I left art school at FSU because 1. I hated the public critique part (*slams canvas down and walks out yelling “F you Todd, your nude drawing sucks too”) and 2. I didn’t think I could ever make money. So I happily became a teacher, where I definitely did not make any money. But then I had a million little girls and quit teaching. Now I work my ass off in the heat and the bugs all day in my backyard doing what I love and while I’m still a little short for the yacht in San Tropez that I’ve been eyeing, I can still put braces on my kids teeth and afford organic fruit and treat myself to cashmere pants when I want to (seriously amazing...it’s all Stevie Nicks wears) and I realize the plan all along was to come back to art. I just had to figure out how to do it, and also have a ton of people to support and help me. I thank you for that. I hope the path you are on leads you to where you are supposed to be. I didn’t happen for me until I was almost 40-so just keep plugging along... you’ll get there. . . For immunity boost, residents turn to organic food products The fear of Covid is making a large number of people approach organic farmers in the state. The demand for organic vegetables, jaggery made from organically-grown sugarcane and other products like wheat, basmati, pulses and millets has risen. To increase their immunity against the coronavirus, people now have turned to organic products. “Several business class people have approached me and asked me about growing organic vegetables. They say that they don’t want to feel helpless in the future too. Having a strong immune system is the only solution to this Covid problem. So, if they eat healthy, they would have good immunity to deal with such health issues,” said Kamaljit Hayer �from Muktsar district who has been doing organic farming for long. The demand has increased so much that the organic farmers from districts like Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr have been seeking permission from the administration to deliver vegetables and jaggery at the doorsteps of the customers. A woman farmer from Hoshiarpur Manjit Kaur said she was getting several calls daily since the lockdown was announced. She used to come to Jalandhar every Sunday to sell organic vegetables. “My customers do not want to buy vegetables or any other products from market. There is a fear that at this point, everyone should eat organic things that are grown without any insecticide or pesticide,” she said adding that customers had been placing bulk orders so that they did not have to go out amid the lockdown. - @himalayanflavour.india on Instagram

This has to be one of the coolest looking playgrounds in Adelaide right? Cobbler Creek Recreation Park Playground (with the main entry at Bridge/Smith Roads at Salisbury East) really does stand out with its aptly named Kites and Kestrels equipment. Designed to resemble a raptors nest it is meant to give kids the chance to get a birds eye view of things. For my kids though, that will probably bring back recent not-so-fond memories of magpie swooping season but hey, whatever doesnt kill them makes them stronger...hopefully. As well as the playground there are is over 17km of fantastic BMX and Mountain Bike tracks for all ages. Just pack a hat...there isnt much shade out that way! “Hello! My name is Brooke Toffolon and I wear periwinkle for Anorexia. I have had an eating disorder for many many years, along with anxiety and depression. I was eventually diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa 7 years ago. I got help for my eating disorder for the first time when I was 26 and life has had it’s share of ups and downs ever since. More recently, I have really begun the hard work of recovery. I have an amazing team of therapists, as well as a psychiatrist, dietitian, and primary care doctor. I am so fortunate to have such support and I know not everyone has these opportunities. And while these are important members of my team, I am learning that I am the most important member of my team. Recovery begins within US, when we learn to believe that we deserve to take up space. That has been a huge lesson I’ve been learning recently. I think for so long I have tried to shrink down, physically, mentally, and emotionally. But I have a voice, and if I want to make a change in this world, I have to be alive. I have to use my voice.
