[Part1]The Wasteland lay spread out before me from my vantage point. The air was still, everything about the day was perfect for shooting. Staring through the scope of my M24 I lined up the sights on our target area. My four-man team moved slowly through the apocalyptic Wasteland, this was unlike anything they had ever experienced before. The howls came again, this time closer. I could hear the franticness in my seconds voice as it came over the radio I think theyre getting a little bit closer this time boss.... Pulling the bolt back on the rifle I put a 300 Win Mag round in the chamber. Hard-copy Bravo 2, Ive got you boys covered from up here. I said sternly Just keep moving towards the AO the signal Beacon should be close. The men continued edging forward through the ruins of what used to be Pueblo, Colorado. It appeared to be a bleak desolate graveyard for my vantage point, a ghost of the past. Destroyed nearly 20 years ago by the war, yet not fully destroyed. Some of the building still stood, the roads were somewhat intact. Nature had just begun to take back over. I repositioned my gas mask to get a better seal, and peered back through the scope of my rifle. The howls came again, this time way closer than before, my men froze. Weapons at the ready, they scanned their surroundings. There was a flash of movement out of the corner of my eye, it was about three hundred yards south of my position, and I had to clean View of the target. It was humanoid, but it wasnt acting human. The creature would move forward on all fours, then stand up on its two legs every now and then to peer around. I saw Vapor erupt from its mouth as it released a blood-curdling howl. Lining my sights up, compensating for the range, I aimed slightly over the target . With a deep breath I placed my finger on the trigger. On my exhale I squeezed, the shot rang out. The Recoil of the rifle slightly pushed my shoulder back as my eyes followed the vapor trail of the round. The round struck with maximum efficiency. The entire back of the creatures head was blown out in a mist of red, and brain matter. Several howls rang out, then all hell broke loose... The Gasoline (3D/CGI) 2D Concept by @sheer_madness_art The goal of this project was to replicate a 2D concept into a 3D/CGI scene . This project really opened my eyes towards a lot of aspects which I was missing out while working on a 3D project as this was completely done in a 3D/CGI production pipeline starting from modelling & UV unwrapping (MAYA), texturing ( SUBSTANCE PAINTER ), lighting & rendering (MAYA & REDSHIFT RENDER ), Compositing & Post ( NUKE) , HOUDINI for detailed procedural fog volumes. All passes were rendered in 4K res as 32 Bit EXR linear which gave me a lot of freedom while composting the entire shot in Nuke. Used some @quixelofficial megascan assets for additional details like Rock/ Stone scattering. A big thank you to @nikhilkedige who helped me a lot through out the process.
