Heres an absolute cream puff 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V. Things weve learned in recent months from posting these battle ships: They were sold as Continental Mark Vs, and the Lincoln badging/branding wasnt added until the mid 80s. The Mark V was STILL build on the older Mark IV platform, and thus different from the smaller Cougar and Thunderbird models offered by Ford. I always thought they all shared the same platform, but they didnt, and we even dug up some original design interviews on it. Hoovie posted a video recently, and brought up a good point on these classic luxury cars. its okay that theyre floaty and boaty. Thats a huge part of the charm of that market segment, and a lot of people love that handling. So when Im going on about wanting a pro-touring or sporty build of these big luxury cruisers, that doesnt mean theres anything wrong with how they are stock.
