The Raleigh Police Department is aware of the video circulating on social media involving a traffic stop during the January 14 arrest of Braily Andres Batista-Concepcion. On January 14, 2020 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a report of a hit and run in the 3500 block of Wake Forest Road. Before officers arrived on the scene the suspect vehicle fled the area and was involved in a second hit and run in a parking lot at St. Albans Drive and Wake Forest Road. While fleeing the scene of the second collision the vehicle struck a pole at 4320 Wingate Drive. A short time later, an officer spotted a vehicle matching the description from the three earlier hit and run incidents driving erratically on Navaho Drive. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed that the driver appeared to be impaired while transporting three passengers. When Mr. Batista-Concepcion ignored repeated commands to place his hands on the wheel, the officer ordered him to get out of the vehicle. Mr. Batista-Concepcion failed to follow the officer’s commands and officers used force to remove him from the vehicle. Braily Andres Batista-Concepcion was subsequently charged with DWI, three counts of Hit and Run, two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Resist, Delay and Obstruct. As is the case with all uses of force, the Raleigh Police Department is reviewing this matter. If anyone has additional information about this incident or witnessed any other hit and runs involving this vehicle, they are encouraged to call 911. 🔺Un menor sustrae una moto y lo localizan por las avenidas haciendo zig zag con la misma, Palma La madrugada del pasado sábado, agentes de la Policía Nacional procedieron a la detención de un joven menor de edad, por un delito de robo de una motocicleta, y contra la seguridad del tráfico. Los hechos ocurrieron la madrugada del pasado sábado, a las 2.30 horas, cuando una patrulla de la Policía Nacional estaba circulando por las avenidas de Palma, y observó como una persona a bordo de una motocicleta, iba haciendo zig zag, y no respetando las normas de circulación. Los agentes observaron como la moto no llevaba la llave en el bombín Cuando la patrulla observó la maniobra, se acercó a la moto y visualizó como tampoco llevaba la llave en el bombín, por lo que se interpretó que llevaba el puente hecho, a lo que le dieron el alto. El conductor inicialmente hizo caso omiso, hasta que después de varios intentos los agentes consiguieron detener al presunto autor, el cual tenía los ojos vidriosos, dificultad en el habla, e incluso los agentes lo asistieron para que le mismo se pudiera sentar en la acera. Los policías hicieron gestiones con el vehículo, al ver que el mismo tenía el bombín del motor de arranque manipulado Tras las diversas investigaciones realizadas, comprobaron que había sustraído la moto en la zona de la barriada de Porto Pi, horas antes al suceso producido, por lo que el responsable, menor de edad, fue detenido por una presunta participación en un robo de vehículo, y contra la seguridad del tráfico. All I can say from what I know is Officer Hendrix was an outstanding officer, and gave his life protecting those he had sworn to serve. Mit ca. 4/5 Jahren bin ich das erste mal aktiv mit Rassismus in Kontakt gekommen. Es hat mich damals genauso getroffen wie heute und war genauso unbegreiflich. Ich hatte/habe so viele Freunde aus allen möglichen Teilen der Welt und konnte mir einfach nicht vorstellen dass wir uns wenn wir mal erwachsen sind Aufgrund unserer Herkunft ernsthaft diskriminieren. Naja, man wird erwachsen... Mittlerweile leben wir in einer Welt in der sowas wie die Geschichte in dem Video gestern, in ein paar Wochen leider schon wieder vergessen wird. Wer denkt das im Jahr 2020 Rassismus kein Thema mehr ist lebt in einer Blase oder ist noch nie ernsthaft damit in Kontakt gekommen. Ich bin grade in einem Alter in dem viele meiner Freunde Kinder haben die bald in das selbe Alter kommen das ich damals hatte und die Vorstellung dass sie in 20/25 Jahren die selbe traurige Erkenntnis haben, weil immer noch Menschen sterben müssen weil Sie anders aussehen, macht mich unfassbar traurig und wütend... The sweep is part of a strategic plan launched by the MSP Second District to prioritize locating at-risk youth and missing children, MSP wrote in a Twitter post Wednesday. Troops tracked down background names, photos and last known locations to locate the youth. The recover cases included a 9-year-old runaway from foster care, as well as two teen girls who may have been victims of sex trafficking.
