And finding genuine happiness. 3)Make it part of your self care routine to touch base with support system! Dont have one? Make one...even if thats with people outside your network (infact, thats better!) Talk to a life coach or therapist... talk to someone who can listen and recieve you but can also respond to you while keeping it 100! By practicing these, you are confident in your responses to the world and the actions you take. 4)Be Mindful! Do a body scan, mind scan, environment scan, social scan, health scan, financial scan, spiritual scan....SCAN yourself meticulously! Notice how you are feeling, mentally and physically! Be aware and be present. Take time to actually PROCESS. Literally say ok, scanning my body head to toe now. Swallowing a couple times...my throat kinda hurts, maybe cuz i talked a lot today. My heart feels heavy... why? Cuz im scared about my exam maybe? Process your thoughts... you are confident in your feelings and thus the way you choose to act. 5)Take Care Of yourself. Like actually. Make sure you have your protected times in your week for self care! As you all know wednesday and sundays are my self care days. Wednesdays are geared towards my womanhood, my feminine self care and sundays are geared towards my creative social selfcare. Tap in with yourself. This exact time last year I was in Ohio for Monations (our company’s annual conference) and had no clue what I was getting into. I only knew one person and had been in the business for just a few weeks. But almost upon meeting these women they became family. I soaked up as much knowledge as possible about Monat - the company, it’s leaders and all the incredible products. I learned how each woman on my team struggled with their business at some point but it was all about pushing through and stepping out of your comfort zone. I will forever cherish every single memory of that trip and how hard I laughed, how encouraged and loved I felt, and how I saw with my own eyes how much Monat really believes in giving back and changing lives. I started working at a young age and I’ve been a self-diagnosed workaholic ever since. I’m used to being a full time student, having a full time job, and juggling a couple gigs on the side. This year has been a huge adjustment for me and I’ve had to learn to find value in the downtime. That’s not easy for someone who measures success by accomplishments and finds identity in their work like I do. Our culture is so obsessed with productivity and I’ve internalized that pressure for a long time- that combined with the fact that I truly love what I do means I’m almost always in work mode. I said on January 1st, 2020 that my word of intention for this year was balance- funny how life has a way of delivering what you need in the most unexpected ways sometimes. A little while ago I went a little wild on my stories about the @hm plus range. I couldn’t believe how much better it looked compared to a few years ago. So it was only right I actually gave it a go to see if it was just as good in person. 👀😂 The answer... Yes. Yes it’s bloody great! The sizes are pretty generous (imagine that!) and the prices are reasonable (they have great sales too). I fell in love with this shirt & luckily it didn’t let me down when it arrived. Ive decided to not do typical Yom Kippur prep by writing everything Ive done wrong this year. Starting this evening, for 25 hours we will be saying sorry. I want to use this space to write out what Im thankful for. During Yom Kippur we are asking Hashem to give us life and we should be grateful for that.⠀ Here is the list (but I will be adding to this list all day so this is what I have at this moment.)⠀ Thank you for: • Giving me life⠀ • Giving me a second chance⠀ • Sending me people who belive in me⠀ • Giving me the chance to he living in Israel, specifically Jerusalem meaning Im able to see har habay (Temple mount) from the roof. • Being surrounded by people who care about me • Giving me family who loves me. • Teaching me how to control my pain • Loving me even if Im angry at you • Teaching me how to appreciate my body • Showing me its okay to take care of myself • Giving me the ability to keep going when I feel like I just cant • Allowing me to work on myself in a judge free zone⠀ • Still loving me even if Im doing something wrong • Giving me the ability to fix my mistakes • Giving the opportunity to ask for repentance • Giving me enough money to not struggle and live a comfortable life. • Being there when I need to speak to someone • Giving the ability to cook • Allowing me to enhance peoples shabbos tables with yummy challah • For the roof over my head and food on my table • A phone to talk to people around the world • Clothes to wear • A fan to survive the Israeli summers • Giving me time to work on myself There is so much more Im thankful for but Id like to share this activity with yall before its too late. I believe its so important to thank Hashem for what he has given us. We may or may not see it because we have been given so much. There is only one more 80-degree day for the next couple of weeks. My dad once told me, “change is always good,” when he broke the news that we were moving from California to Idaho. As a teenager, I thought he was crazy (and ruining my life). But as I’ve dealt with many life changes and grown from each one, I realize he is right. Change may be scary, but it’s what makes life worth living. Throughout our lives, one thing that we can count on to change is our bodies. And instead of trying to fight or prevent that change, welcome it. Take it as an opportunity to get to know yourself on a deeper level. Just so you know, your body is pretty remarkable. If life has taught me anything it’s that change is inevitable and that hating my body never got me anywhere. So as the leaves change colors, reflect on how you may be changing, too. It so hard to believe that one thing can totally change your whole perspective. This fall season rolled in so quickly one day it was still bikini weather and the next BAM fall. This summer I put away all the leggings I was accustomed to wearing and tunic shirts and fell in love with dresses.
