I am going to post this and not read the comments or personal messages I receive because of it. I regretfully took it down, and I am here putting it back up thanks to @keeepelevating People pick the words this woman wrote apart all you want. I for one feel the medical system is completely flawed and ass backwards, a place where big pharma makes a buck off your dis-ease when I know damn well from personal experience that all dis-eases can be cured with raw foods, hydration, movement and breath, but I let needing to express that in that moment go because her message speaks volumes of truth when it comes to police brutality. Yes. Some nurses are shit and drug people as restraint. I would like to hope thats not what she does. If his windpipe was infact not crushed and you want to argue that and deter from the message this woman was doing her best from her heart to show solidarity then go ahead, I dont have the time for petty arguments. Bottom line is, death doesnt need to be a result. We literally all watched him die and we all know it didnt have to go down that way. Period. This brings me to breath. I have been contemplating for days on how to address this. I have let so many hateful personal messages from family, friends, aquaintences and strangers really get under my skin the past few days and thats my bad. But I saw a post from @audrabear sharing what I have been so fearful of sharing because of the backlash I have recieved. But here it is. Be so mindful of the mantras we are creating surrounding our breath. Do not give away your power. Celebrate that we all have breath and are working in unison to create change that is long overdue. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there. I’ve been blessed to go through this journey 3X and honestly I’d do it again but I’m gonna have a seat. AJ would cry 😭. I remember in each of these pictures looking at my body in disbelief like how am I gonna come back from this?!?!?! 😫 Are you gonna be cool with these kids after they leave you with all this baggage?!?! F$&king saggy tits, extra weight, varicose veins, bald edges, fat feet, etc. I mean really! But you get past all that once you see their face. I’m so thankful that God chose me to be the mother of these 3 kids because I don’t know where I’d be without them. They complete me. They make me feel like I have a purpose and like no matter how hard things get, they cheer me on as if I came in first place. This Mom life is hard y’all. Some people make it look easy but I would never say it is. It’s easy to love them, no doubt. But when you want to be selfish, irresponsible, alone, cute, in shape, drunk, and the list goes on..... they throw a wrench in your shit so quick. They’re demanding! Before and after - Pregnancy in a Pandemic! I took these by myself during ISO with a tripod and self timer. Lock down started at the end of our pregnancy so there was no opportunity to do the normal ‘mum to be’ things like get your nails done, catch up with friends one last time before life changes forever etc! A few weeks later we are back in lock down so photos and videos are the only way to keep family and friends up to date on this growing little munchkin. The after shot was super tricky - we look peaceful but the reality was hectic trying to settle Olivia! Hello! Ive been paying taxes atleast since I began working as a MCDONALDS employee when I was 15 years old. I literally needed a workers permit, and to have a signed note from my mother, just so I could wake up at 4am on a Saturday & make $8.65 an hour and Ive been paying and doing my taxes ever since. As my wages have increased, and as someone who has worked as an educator I have increasingly been taxed at around 33 percent of what Ive grossed. So with that in mind - My unemployment benefits, the little bit of money gained weekly $15.00 an hour x 40 hours $600 dollars is really nothing compared to what Ive paid into it, and what other countries have done for their people. Fam, whatever the fuck you do with that money is your business. If you are currently an #educator, #instructor, #teacher and you fear for your life, you should be able to stay home and stay safe. You should not be blamed for a government that has failed you, the citizen who have continued to pay your taxes! You should not be made to blame because the government is willing to sacrifice 150,000 children, most likely black and brown students, for them to continue gutting education. Oh! This weekend I’m incredibly grateful for this human I get to call a husband. For the visionary of our home and family. For my greatest spiritual assignment. We are still fighting & waiting on immigration offices on both sides of the Atlantic. Day by day we are fighting to be re-united. This has been a painful & difficult time for us, a real challenge for any newly married couple but I’m lucky to have someone that shows up like her. In these Lock Down months she has shown me that love truly is hard work, commitment & sacrifice. She writes letters, leaves voice notes in the mornings, sends thoughtful gifts & chooses films to watch online for dates. She has had to sleep in hotels, hide from storms, cross States during this pandemic to deliver paperwork. She’s gone above & beyond. #repost @itstashhaynes: One is 18 months out, while the other is 18 weeks in 😍 What a privilege to have this picture of me, in real time, providing nourishment for two of my babies, both in and outside of the womb. When Wisdom was born, I nursed for 2 years and was shamed by most of my family because no one before me had chosen to breastfeed and it didn’t make sense to them. With Courage, I have nursed for the last 18-months and I have served as a milk donor, helping to provide supplements for my girls and 3 other babies. Although I love the benefits of feeding in this way, so much more has come from my experience. Growing up in foster care, without the nurturing of a mom and being completely detached from what it meant to be a mother, it was a very slow and hard journey for me to connect. The utter reliance that a baby has on you when you’re nursing taught me to surrender my own longings for a mom and to step into the role of being one. Breastfeeding was and has been my saving grace. I struggled so much those first couple of months as a mother, learning, healing and growing, but nursing quickly became my most cherished time with my children. It taught me what mothering was all about, an unspoken lesson that I needed so badly that could only come by experience and it has been instrumental in helping me to bond with my babies.
