It is your decision if you want to show someone who exhibits this type of behavior. I’m sure you don’t mind, as long as it gets you paid. But, for the sake of optics and waiting for this situation to blow over, you have decided to postpone his opening. That’s fine, do you. What you NOT gonna do is have me sit down and MEDIATE with the man who told me “sorry I stretched your pussy out but idk” and “most girls like being fucked mercilessly” in response to me telling him he hurt me. Just found out recently that one of my murals was used as a backdrop for a music video that went viral globally! The music video by the Bonaire’s singer @irsais and @rauwalejandro was partly shot in front murals done by me and other talented artists like @jhomarloaiza, and went viral with over 130Million views. This mural was done back in 2017 and was an initiative of the Casa Vivas foundation to help cleanup and beautify the neighborhood of Seru Otrobanda, Curaçao. This little house was abandoned for a long time and ended up being used as a garbage dumpster. The foundation cleaned it up and hired me to design and paint on it. As part of the project I offered to coach and give a short mural and drawing workshop to a few talented youth from the bario. I was inspired by the layout of the two windows and the door of the house and found the perfect fit in a photo of a Peregrine falcon by William Zhang. Creating cosplay and coming up with ideas to fit my body shape and hair type has been so fun! Putting my own spin on characters I love has taken my creativity to new heights. It doesn’t matter if I look like the character or if I’m even the same gender or species of a character I like, If I like them I can cosplay them and make it work for me. Cosplay is about having fun and expressing yourself through that medium and its such a unique type of fun immersing yourself into another world, dressing up, acting out and just living. YOLO right? I have been making an effort to help others be fearless with things they are passionate about. Who I am now has brought so many amazing people into my life who I admire, who I draw strength from and we mutually cheer each other on. I had to go through a lot of hardships and feeling like crap to get here, but I keep reminding myself that it’s ok to be unapologetically me. I have to inspire myself to be great and to not revert back to who I was and I have to motivate myself to keep pushing forward to help others push forward. I basically had to fight myself to find my best self.
