Guru Amar Das ji (Part 1)- Sri Guru Amar Das, though born in 1479, became the Guru in 1552 when he was in his seventies. Guru Amardas ji were born as Bhalla Khatri at village Basarke about 13 kms south-west of Amritsar. His father was Tej Bhan Bhalla,, a local petty trader. They were all staunch sanatanists, and vegetarians. Guru Amar das had a wife, two sons and two daughters. He often went to Haridwar and Jwalamukhi on pilgrimages and strictly observed all religious rites and ceromonies. Before coming into contact with Sikhkism Guru Amar Das had crossed sixty years of age. His brother Manak chand lived nearby his house, Manak Chands wife Bibi Amro use to sing Guru Nanaks hymns. Bhai Amar Das (Later Guru) must have heard her singing many times before. He engquired whose hymns she was singing and immediately made up his mind to call on Guru Angad. It was in 1541, when Amardas was 62 years old. Guru Amardas ji were on Guruship from 1552 to 1574, he moved to Goindwal from Khadur to avoid conflict with Guru Angads sons., elder of whom named Datu had declared himself as a Guru. #sikhhistory #history #waheguru #sikhism - @sikh.history on Instagram

A look back to 2014 when I was helping with some repair work on the Cabinet office. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The outside was damaged when a crane collapsed on the roof during high winds. Thankfully it happened early in the morning and no one was injured, the enormous hook smashed some paving slabs and damaged the exterior but thankfully nothing else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We took moulds of the existing carvings and cut away the damaged sections before offering up new pieces of stone. Once those pieces fitted well we took them back to the workshop to carve on the detail. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Such beautiful carving on the building, great to be so up close to see the detail and the amount of work which went into it. गडवाट - प्रवास सह्याद्रीचा 👑अंतुर किल्ला👑 *गडाची माहिती* गडाची उंची: २७०० फूट या भक्कम आणि बलदंड किल्ल्याची उभारणी एका मराठा सरदाराने केली होती. पुढे हा किल्ला अहमदनगरच्या निजामशाहीच्या ताब्यात गेला. मलीक अंबरच्या काळात येथे काही बांधकामे झाली. पुढे मोगली वावटळीत हा किल्ला मोगलांच्या ताब्यात गेला. इंग्रजांनी इतर किल्ल्याबरोबर याचाही ताबा मिळवला. *गडावरील पहाण्यासारखी ठिकाणे* प्रेक्षणीय दरवाजा, तटबंदी,शिल्पे,तोफेचे गोळे,बुरुज,तलाव,पाण्याचे टाके *गडावर जाण्याच्या वाटा* अंतूरच्या किल्ल्याला जाण्यासाठी दोन मार्ग आहेत. एक कन्नड कडून गौताळा अभयारण्यामधून एक रस्ता नागदकडे जातो. या रस्त्याला पुढे सिल्लोडकडे जाणारा एक उपरस्ता आहे. या रस्त्यावर आठ नऊ कि.मी. वर नागापूर नावाचे लहानसे गाव आहे. या गावातून अंतुरगडाकडे कच्चा रस्ता जातो. या मार्गावर खोलापूर म्हणून लहानशी वस्तीही वाटेत आहे. खोलापूरच्या पुढे असलेला रस्ता पावसाळ्यात खराब होतो. खोलापूरपासून सहा कि.मी. अंतरावर अंतुरगड आहे. हा मैलाचा चौकोनी दगड आहे. त्यावर काही शहरांच्या दिशा सांगितल्या असून हा इ.स. १६०८ मध्ये बसविल्याचा उल्लेख आहे. साधारण सपाटी असलेल्या या मार्गावरून चालत पाच एक किलोमीटर गेल्यावर अंतुरगडाचे दर्शन होते. अजंठा सातमाळा रांगेचे एक शृंग थोडे उत्तरेकडे घुसले आहे. या शृंगावरच अंतुरगड आहे. दुसरा मार्ग जळगाव जिल्ह्यातील चाळीसगाव तालुक्यामधून आहे. नागोद गावाकडून म्हैसघाटमार्गे दस्तापूरला पोहोचून तेथून अंतूरचा पायथा गाठता येतो. नंतर डोंगर चढल्यावर किल्ला येतो. हे दोन्ही मार्ग अंतूरच्या प्रवेशद्वाराजवळ एकत्र येतात. अंतूरच्या किल्ल्यामध्ये प्रवेश करण्यासाठी हाच एकमेव मार्ग आहे. डोंगर उतारावर भरपूर झाडी आहे. *अधिक माहिती* जेवणाची सोय नाही राहण्याची सोय नाही पिण्याच्या पाण्याची सोय नाही - @gadwat__ on Instagram
