Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, the statues designer, was enamored with Egyptian pyramids and monumental sculpture and wanted to build something special to commemorate the opening of Egypts Suez Canal in the late 1800s. In 1876 Anne Whitney became the first woman to create a statue representing a state in the National Statuary Hall Collection. Her statue paid tribute to #SamuelAdams, the Father of the American Revolution from #Massachusetts who was born OTD in 1722. The statue was so popular, the city of Boston commissioned a bronze copy that stands outside of #FaneuilHall. After a fruitful few years of learning how to run and operate a design studio, it’s with the utmost excitement and pleasure that we announce that, well, we’re done. As a studio, we have always strived to make honest and interesting work for clients and ourselves. We had the immense privilege of learning everything from the fine art of proposal writing to creating identity systems that react to music. And we tried to share what we learned, too.
