(No idea what took us so long... when we first moved in we tried to fit the bed across from the doors like this but our bedside dresser and writing desk wouldn’t both fit so we put it all on another wall, thinking we’d eventually get a smaller nightstand on one side and move back but forgot all about it. Правда ли, что люди, ищущие смысл жизни в религии и приобретающие духовные знания, скорее помогут другому человеку, чем те, кто обращается к религии ради личной выгоды? ⠀ Для проведения эксперимента были выбраны студенты богословской семинарии, после чего им нужно было перейти в другой корпус университета. По дороге сидел, скорчившись, актер, изображавший человека, нуждающегося в помощи. Психологов интересовало, окажут ли семинаристы ему помощь? Чтобы узнать, влияет ли спешка на поведение, одним студентам говорили, что им пора торопиться, так как у них в запасе всего несколько минут. Других уверяли, что торопиться не нужно. Для усиления эксперимента одной группе студентов поручили провести краткую беседу на тему библейского предания о добром самаритянине. Другой — что они будут говорить о процедуре проведения семинаров. Результаты эксперимента и выводы Всего лишь 10% из всех студентов, которые торопились, подошли к бедняге и постарались оказать ему помощь. Из тех студентов, кому не нужно было спешить, решили помочь уже 63%. Среди тех, кому поручили прочитать доклад о добром самаритянине оказалось в два раза больше готовых остановиться и помочь нуждающемуся, чем те, кому поручили прочитать лекцию о ведении семинаров. ⠀ На основании полученных результатов психологи сделали следующие выводы: 1) Поглощенность своими мыслями и спешка может привести к тому, что мы не замечаем очевидных вещей. 2) Истории о доброте и самопожертвовании других людей влияют на наше мировоззрение, и побуждают быть более чуткими к чужим страданиям. 3) Желание оказать помощь не зависит от религиозных убеждений, это осознанный выбор каждого человека. ⠀ Интересны вам такие исследования?🤔 - @liana_buvaltseva on Instagram

This is now the time of year when my feed is more about “paddleportsmouth“ than “walkportsmouth”😁. I dared to paddle just a wee bit into the river, albeit hugging the shoreline, to just wiggle ‘round the corner from Goat Island to Peirce Island for a different view as I headed back to the public landing. It’s always a site to behold—that former prison on the PNSY. I once took a tour of the building just outside around its perimeter at least 15 years ago😳. That was pretty neato as I absolutely love old abandoned buildings. Seems a shame it will never be rehab’d for use. Luckily it is on the NR as an historic building so hopefully will forever remain part of the Seacoast landscape.
