Sharing a super easy spoon cake recipe here to turn your favorite berry into a quick dessert. This cake is so EASY. The last step is to evenly top the batter in the pan with the sweetened berries before baking the cake. . Use any berries you want. I’ve done blackberry, raspberry blueberry and tay berry. Use wheat flour or your favorite gluten free blend. Use lemon zest (from 1 lemon) if you don’t have limes, olive oil if you don’t have coconut oil. . More options. The recipe can be baked in two glass pie pans for a thinner crispier cake. This version is super good. You can also line the baking pan with parchment for a cake you can cut with a knife and easy clean up. . I always keep frozen berries in my freezer and yes you can make this with frozen berries. Glycolic acid is a popular skincare ingredient. As well as known as a treatment for acne (see our last post for more on this), glycolic acid has also been linked to improving atopic dermatitis (AD). How does it help with AD? 💥Firstly, the ability of glycolic acid to reduce inflammation (a key part of AD development), resulting in fewer outbreaks. Glycolic acid has also been shown to repair the skin barrier. The sloughing off of damaged skin cells is critical for the healing process, and the gentle exfoliation that can be reached with lower concentration of glycolic acid is quite favorable. 🧫Further, glycolic acid exfoliation treatment helps the move up of new cells to the surface. New cells are capable of retaining suitable levels of moisture, which prevents dryness and skin barrier breakage. ⬇️A third benefit gained from the use of hydroxy acids in general, is the decrease in pH. AD skin tends to have a more alkaline pH, between 0.1 and 0.9 units higher than the average healthy skin of 4.7. The mere reduction and maintenance of the skin pH can prevent the development of AD. Overall, most relevant scientific literature points out that glycolic acid in lower concentrations substantially improves AD. However, some cases describe the aggravation of the condition after using glycolic acid so is not always suitable for use as a treatment. To date, the mechanism of action is not fully understood and more information is required to give a final verdict. Looking back on one of the most interesting weeks of my life. On the last week before I had to move out of my apartment, I embarked on an electrical journey. With zero prior experience, I spent 10 hours a day for 7 days/nights straight working with a veteran NYC electrician of 30 years. He plugged me into a world that I never thought could be so interesting. Electricity, aka power aka light! These are the things that litterally empower and enlighten us all. For every nerve in your body which allows you to do anything, is electric. It’s a massive part of our planets DNA and is crazy to think how little most ppl know about it, including me. The beginning of our full time van life could not have been more “down to the wire”. On the night of August 31st, (last night with my apartment) we finally succeeded in hooking up our fridge, lights and multiple outlets. It’s a completely different experience when you cook dinner under warm lights(that you can dim), and wake up to a cold fridge for a home made cappuccino and fully charged phones. Before now, this is the van we had only dreamt of. We believed we could do it, but now that we’ve done it, it’s hard to believe it. Special thank you to Ingyang’s incredible dad, for being so clutch with his knowledge, resources and great attitude, what a lengend you are, truly🙏🏼 Thank you to Ingyang @naniki_oceanchild for putting up with being homeless in Rockaway after you got off work and I was still on the other side of the city. Just one bite... 😛 Honestly I live for these bites I get to take when taking pictures of my creations Been loving the lemon combos for the supper so whipped up some Lemon Raspberry Cashew Cheesecake Bites 🥰 The perfect combination of tart + refreshing + sweet 🍭 Recipe: For the cheesecake: Soak raw cashews overnight - combine soaked cashews, 1/2 can of full fat coconut milk, 1/3 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup lemon juice, & 2 tbsp sugar in food processor Blend until creamy consistency For the crust: blend 1/2 pack of graham crackers & 2 tbsp melted coconut oil, press firmly into muffin tin filling 1/4 of the way up Bake at 350 for 10 mins or until golden brown, set aside to cool For the raspberry topping: combine 2 packs of raspberries, 2 tbsp sugar, & 2 tbsp chia seeds in food processor After crust has cooled, layer cheesecake and freeze for 20 mins, then add raspberry topping! I like to leave my in the refrigerator for a more soft consistency! Last night I decided to go on a late night bike ride, well because it’s not 105 degrees at midnight. I was close to a freeway wall and I heard a loud blast and instantly felt pain pulsing through my finger. Someone shot at me and the bullet ricocheted off of the wall and grazed my fingertip. I was super shook and at the same time relieved that the outcome wasn’t way worse. On my ride home I did a lot of thinking and definitely feel like I still have some important work to do here. @scalifit face when I told him we’re having Mac and Cheese with hot dogs and ketchup last night... with an SnS Twist 💁🏽♀️ Directions Boil 400g riced cauliflower in 1 cup of @trulocal bone broth (you can sub for any liquid but the health benefits and added protein are a bonus!) and little truffle olive oil for 6-8 mins or until cooked. Transfer to a blender and add in a few tbsps nutritional yeast (for a dairy free cheesy taste and an awesome source of B12) and liquid (you can add some more bone broth) as needed to reach desired consistency. If it’s too thick, add more bone broth or for a creamier consistency add coconut milk. If it’s too runny, bring it to a boil and add a thickening agent such as tapioca flour (any flour would probably work). Sauté up the chorizo in diced onion and garlic and add to the boiled @chickapeapasta (you could omit this because of the high protein content of this pasta but... #gains). The toast prints I’ve made so far have a white background, but would you be interested in prints that have the original background, like the marble in this photo?🤍 - To make the chia jam, add 2 cups strawberries or raspberries (this photo is raspberries!) to a pot and heat on the stove. Mash once warmed to release juices. Simmer for 10ish minutes, squeeze in the juice of ½ a lemon if the fruit isn’t already a little acidic, 2 Tbs chia seeds that will help thicken + a little drizzle of maple syrup and ½ tsp vanilla if you want!
