Il padre di Bibi Ballandi aveva unagenzia di spettacolo e io andavo da lui a scegliere quelle che allora si chiamavano le attrazioni. Una volta presi Renato Zero. Fu un “buco” pazzesco, perché allepoca non lo conosceva nessuno. A un certo punto gli si ruppe anche limpianto e lui continuò raccontando barzellette e saltando in braccio alluno e allaltro. In quel periodo mandammo in onda Madame per un mese di seguito come sigla della radio e so che qualche tempo dopo cominciò a esibirsi nei locali tra Emilia e Toscana. Mi sa che lo abbiamo lanciato noi». RACCONTATA DA RENATO ZERO Un piccolo aneddoto sullincontro negli anni 70 a Zocca, in provincia di Modena, con Vasco Rossi: Lui faceva il dj ed era in società con un promoter di concerti. Lo spazio dello show era mitico: i giardini pubblici del paese. Dopo il terzo pezzo ci fu un botto micidiale e lamplificazione andò a fuoco. Allora, per non far saltare la data e perdere lingaggio, mi misi a raccontare barzellette. In 1971 Spud moved from Dublin to London, where I recommended him as the house photographer for the music paper Sounds - which led to Spuds famous shots of John Lennon recording his Imagine album at home at Tittenhurst Park in Ascot. As Mental Guru to T.Rex, I brought Spud into the Marc Bolan camp. Among the many splendid photographs he took is the T.Rex Electric Warrior album cover at The Albert Hall, Nottingham May 14th 1971- taken the same evening shortly after Spuds backstage shot here of Marc & I.
