Вот и сейчас московский департамент транспорта сообщил, что все выделенные полосы в столице будут работать в режиме 24/7, т.е. каждый день, круглосуточно, в том числе на выходных и в ночное время. Соответственно, движение по А-полосам будет разрешено только городскому общественному транспорту и такси, а также автомобилям экстренных и коммунальных служб и, не поверите, велосипедам. Зачем? Всё просто. Во-первых, конечно, общественный транспорт сразу же поедет без задержек. По ночам и выходным, ведь это так важно. Во-вторых, полный запрет выезда на выделенные полосы позволит избежать случайных штрафов — видимо, подразумеваются ситуации, когда водитель не успел покинуть А-полосу ровно в полночь с воскресенья на понедельник и тут же был осчастливлен штрафом в размере 3000 руб. А что мотоциклисты? А ничего. Их как будто нет. И опыт европейских стран в данной ситуации никого ее интересует. Безопасность? Не имеет значения, Европа нам не указ! Да, пока мотоциклисты могут двигаться среди автомобилей, ежесекундно уворачиваясь от зависших в телефоне водителей и заблудившихся в большом городе погонщиков такси. Engine 45 and Engine 44 arrived two minutes after 911 was called and provided CPR, defibrillation, airway management, and life saving medications. Paramedics were able to get a faint pulse and blood pressure back in the ambulance on the way to Hoag Hospital. Doctors told Tims family that he would need a heart transplant but 2 weeks later Tim walked out of the hospital with an internal defibrillator and no other serious injuries. Tim and his parents stopped by Lake fire station to say thank you and share his story. . We are extremely saddened to announce the passing of our brother and friend, Branford Police Officer Christopher Manner. Officer Manner passed away at his home on Saturday, September 19th, 2020. Officer Manner retired from the North Branford Police department in December of 2011, after 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of North Branford. He honorably served at the rank of Sergeant for much of his 25 year career in North Branford. His passion for police work would not allow him to leave the profession, he was hired by Branford Police in April of 2012. At the Branford Police department, Officer Manner continued to mentor new Officers. He worked as a field training officer where he took pride in introducing new officers to members of the community. He had a natural ability to speak with anyone and quickly gain their trust. Ofc. Manner was well respected in both communities that he served and he seemed to know everyone! The true definition of a community police officer. He was a longtime sports coach at the high school and intermediate school levels. He coached in both the towns of Branford and North Branford. Officer Manner previously coached the North Branford intermediate school cross-country team, the North Branford high school boys basketball team and currently the Branford girl’s freshman basketball team. He also assisted on other teams and at the varsity level. Ofc. Manner will truly be missed by all members of our department. He came to work every day with a huge smile on his face even in troubling times. He lived life to the fullest and always carried a positive attitude. He cared deeply about the community and everyone in it. Ofc. Manner lit up the room anytime he had the chance to talk about his children. His children meant everything to him and he made sure everyone knew it. We will always cherish the many, many great memories we have of Ofc. Manner. So yesterday I was talking about the impact facing all of law enforcement because of the horrific murder of Mr. Floyd. Later that day I sat in a City Council meeting listening to how angry our community is. I hear you and the men and women who serve this city with honor and pride hear you. We are ashamed and sad that, that murder was given the honor to wear that badge. I hurt for my people. They have served with honor and have done nothing to deserve the doubt and shame that has been heaped upon them because of a criminal cop in Minnesota. We all can do better, but change must be through dialogue and honest conversation not through irrational reactions to a horrible event. I pray that we can all take a deep breath, listen to each other and respond with hope and compassion so that we can truly move forward. Today, Commissioner Visnauskas announced the completion of upgrades to the Westbury Recreation & Community Center Complex. This is the villages first completed project from Governor Andrew Cuomos statewide Downtown Revitalization Initiative award. On August 31, 2020, Officer Chandler McGill responded to an Assault with Deadly Weapon call for service in the 900 block of Wendover Road. Upon arrival, Officer McGill located the victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Burnet County Precinct 4 Constable Missy Bindseil is an elected law enforcement officer for south and southeast Burnet County, covering parts of Marble Falls and Spicewood. She also works for the Justice of the Peace Court in her precinct, acting as bailiff and serving warrants, restraining orders, and other papers.As a constable, she has the same duties as a city officer or county deputy; however, she answers to the voters, making community connections a central aspect of the job. Bindseil began her career in the justice system in 1992 in Temple TX working as a parole officer and later became a police officer. She moved to Burnet County in 2008, where she began work in the sheriff’s office as a deputy and dispatcher. She was appointed constable in December 2016 and elected to the position in 2018. She is unopposed in the November 3 general election for her first full four-year term. Heres a some things she wants people to know.. WE ARE LAW ENFORCEMENT, not lawmaker. Nor are we the prosecutors, and we are not the judges. We are peace officers. We enforce the laws that are written by others and report violations to the prosecutors and judges. COPS ARE PEOPLE, TOO. This is my dad. 🤗 My dad worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s department for 32 years. He poured his heart and soul into that job and had to put a lot of birthday parties and Christmas celebrations on hold because of he had to work. Growing up, my mom, brother, and myself never got hurt or offended that we had to wait to celebrate because we knew that daddy was working to keep the world safe. This is Raleigh police department. They are more interested with protecting the rich White guy who is inciting protestors than keeping their masks on. It is the governors mandate when standing within 6 ft of someone you must be wearing a mask. Most of them walked through our crowd maskless and only put them on once inside. Today the Lodi Police Department bids a fond farewell to Corporal Robert Rench. He worked his last shift with LPD and will be starting as a San Joaquin County District Attorney Investigator. Suffolk County police officers patrol the county 24-hours-a-day to keep our residents safe. They do this during inclement weather, on holidays and overnight when most people are sleeping. The seemingly simple act of operating a patrol car under adverse conditions is one of the inherent risks to law enforcement. We were unfortunately reminded of the danger when two Suffolk County police officers were seriously injured in motor vehicle crashes and their recovery has been anything but easy. It’s been more than two years since First Precinct Police Officer Don Dillon was patrolling during a snow storm when his patrol car was hit head-on by an individual who was driving high on drugs and operating a stolen car at high speed, despite the poor weather. Officer Dillon suffered numerous broken bones including his pelvis, hip and leg. In a separate crash, Third Precinct Police Officer Christian Vidal was patrolling during the early morning hours on September 1, 2019, when a drunk driver crossed over into his lane of travel and struck his patrol car head on. Officer Vidal was so seriously injured that he was placed in a medically-induced coma. Both Officers Dillon and Vidal want to return to full duty to continue to serve the people of Suffolk County, however, they both still grapple with the serious consequences of their injuries. Earlier this week there was some good news— after extensive and ongoing efforts on his part to rehabilitate, Officer Vidal returned to work on limited duty. However, Officer Dillon, a former marathon runner, has not been able to return to duty due to the severity of his injuries. To show the department’s support for these two officers, Chief of Department Stuart Cameron paid the officers a visit this week. Please remember these two heroic officers and their sacrifice to our county as they continue to struggle with their injuries. Watched with my own eyes, right in front of me, a seething white LAPD cop (Officer Clark, I pray someone got his badge number) repeatedly beat a black girl with his baton...she never touched him, was half his size, was merely yelling. The police are instigating the violence, and the looting and riots are the response to it. Don’t let your friends or relatives who are not out here tell you otherwise! Everyone protesting has seen countless moments of police responding to verbal abuse and water bottles being thrown with incredibly aggressive physical force, shooting rubber bullets at protestors, firing tear gas into peaceful crowds. When white people come to the front, the police back up and simmer down a bit. As fucked up as that is, it happens clear as day, and it’s why it’s so important for able bodied white people to go out and protest if you can. There are constant calls for white allies to come to the front. I’m no macho man, believe me it’s terrifying. Facing off with antagonistic police is one of the scariest things - imagine how black people feel all the time. But we have a duty to stand up. Even if you’re not on the front lines, you can show up with supplies and still maintain social distancing guidelines. Young healthy privileged people who have living situations that permit it - it’s a risk we should be willing to take if we can. If you’re willing to risk COVID exposure to go drink at a party, this shouldn’t be different.
