She was a street dog in India- there she was brought into a home from the streets as a tiny puppy. As soon as she grew in size, her humans sadly grew tired of her. . They tied her up with a very short lead and she was severely neglected. If she barked, Noddy was beaten with brooms and mops. . She was rescued and moved to an amazing local boarding facility outside of Delhi where she got care, complete freedom, and spent days playing with other dogs. She came to us by way of Seattle. . She is such a love- knows basic commands and is HIGH energy. She needs a home with a yard, someone who can continue to train her (she needs a job); and though she loves playing with other dogs outdoors - she needs to be an only dog in her home. [Inovasi Produksi Energi Panas Bumi dengan Teknologi Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal (CPG)] Seiring dengan perkembangan ekonomi yang pesat telah terjadi peningkatan penggunaan bahan bakar fosil, yaitu batubara, minyak bumi, dan gas alam yang telah menjadi sumber energi utama sejak revolusi industri pertama. Dampak penggunaan bahan bakar fosil yang melimpah menjadi perhatian utama karena dampaknya yang merugikan terhadap lingkungan, terutama akibat emisi CO2, salah satu gas rumah kaca antropogenik utama. Upaya untuk mengendalikan emisi CO2 antropogenik di lingkungan membutuhkan teknologi produksi energi yang sudah ada dan yang baru beralih dari penggunaan bahan bakar fosil ke energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT), salah satunya energi panas bumi. Pemerintah melalui Direktorat Jenderal EBTKE menargetkan di tahun 2025, pemanfaatan EBT mencapai 23%, yang mana didalamnya termasuk energi panas bumi dengan target sebesar 7241.5 MW. Saat ini, pemanfaatan energi panas bumi baru mencapai angka 2131 MW (Dirjen EBTKE, 2019). Artinya, pemerintah membutuhkan rata-rata peningkatan pemanfaatan energi panas bumi sebesar 1022 MW dalam satu tahun untuk memenuhi target tersebut. Tentu hal ini bukanlah target yang mudah. Maka dari itu, diajukanlah sebuah gagasan teknologi yang dapat mempercepat peningkatan produksi energi panas bumi, yaitu Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal (CPG). Teknologi Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal (CPG) merupakan inovasi untuk meningkatkan produksi energi panas bumi dengan memanfaatkan sifat fisik gas CO2 yang lebih baik untuk menggantikan fluida hidrotermal (Saar et al., 2012). From Seward Johnson’s obituary in the New York Times: [Seward Johnson’s sculptures] often caught passers-by unawares; many would pause for a closer look and, in the cellphone age, a picture. One sculpture in particular became something more than a curiosity. It was a work Mr. Johnson called “Double Check”: a seated businessman reviewing the contents of his briefcase. The sculpture was in Liberty Park near the World Trade Center when the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, left the area in ruins. Many other artworks in the buildings and outside were destroyed that day, but the man with the briefcase, though knocked off his perch, survived, covered in debris. The sculpture is so lifelike that firefighters are said to have tried to rescue it. It became a makeshift memorial — a symbol of endurance to some, a reminder of the bodies never recovered to others. I thought of him as a businessman Everyman — with his briefcase — getting ready for his next appointment, and people identified with him, Mr. Johnson told The New York Times in 2005. Ante tanta demanda de vecinos enviándonos imágenes de como esta su barrio, sus calles, sus parques y jardines etc etc .... desde Almería Postureo y terminada una reunión ahora mismo, hemos decidido formar grupos de 10 personas para limpiar todos los monumentos, parques, zonas de ocio y zonas de juegos de nuestra ciudad. Mañana queremos hablar con distintas empresas para que nos cedan elementos y aparatos de limpieza y así colaborar los almerienses para tener su ciudad limpia y cuidada ya que parece que nadie lo hace. Esta claro y siempre lo decimos que el ser humano mancha y ensucia mucho, pero por eso hay que tener un equipo de limpieza para dar soluciones a tantos problemas. Aprovechamos para hacer ese llamamiento a ferreterías, viveros, etc etc para que nos donen equipos de limpieza como escobas, bolsas, guantes, recogedores, semillas para plantar plantas y arboles en tantos parques abandonados como el boticario donde posiblemente comenzaremos etc etc ... Sin más muchísimas gracias a todos los que nos habéis aportado ideas, como siempre decimos sois todos bienvenidos y además os esperamos de corazón para que estéis con nosotros codo con codo limpiando la ciudad. Our REPARE team is always hard at work making sure that the biomedical equipment at SBH is in good working order. Recently, the autoclave in our surgery department stopped functioning. Our Chief Biomedical Equipment Engineer, Alix Ilophene, told us: “We know that to do surgery, sterilizing equipment is necessary. Without that, there is no surgery. It was not so difficult to diagnose the problem. The [autoclave’s] boiler displayed a low water alarm—we found the machine’s water piping was blocked. We cleaned it, and then cleaned the whole machine. We took about two hours to repair it. Alguém se lembra desse mocinho que já foi publicado algumas vezes para adoção há meses atrás? #PatrickIAPA sempre foi cheio de energia e muito amor para dar, várias pessoas se interessavam por ele, mas, o receio sempre era sua energia! De repente, tudo mudou! Patrick vivia solto em um lar temporário em Cotia, junto com seus amigos peludos, até que, ele apareceu com uma das patas inchadas (aparentemente picada de algum bichinho), foi tratado para melhorar a inflamação, mas, com o passar dos dias, ele começou a perder peso. Foram feitos vários exames, o reviramos de ponta cabeça e estava tudo bem, não encontrávamos nada que justificasse a perda de peso. Sua situação foi piorando e ele teve que ser internado, fazer transfusão de sangue, mudar toda sua alimentação e, MESMO ASSIM, todos seus exames davam negativo. Patrick esta internado há mais de 30 dias, o único fato que mudou em seu quadro foi a confirmação de diabetes. Foi colocado um free style (um dispositivo na pele para regular a dose da insulina), mas, a diabetes não é a “vilã” da história. Aparentemente, é apenas uma “consequência” de alguma outra doença que ainda não conseguimos descobrir. 😔 A maior suspeita do Endócrino é Leish, porém, seu exame deu negativo. Hoje ele foi ao Hematologista e a possibilidade de uma doença autoimune é grande. Vamos iniciar um novo caminho de exames bem específicos e com alto custo. O que nos move em seu caso é a VONTADE DE VIVER que ele tem. A GENEROSIDADE que mesmo nos dias que não consegue parar em pé, demonstra seu amor por nossa equipe. O peludo que tinha muita energia, hoje, tem muita vontade de viver... 🙏 Patrick precisa de você, não temos condições de arcar com todo o custo de seu tratamento que já está altíssimo. 😢 Precisamos que cada um ajude com o que puder, Patrick não é o nosso único caso sério em internação e, a cada dia, está mais desesperador a manutenção destas vidas. Here are some aftermath photos from the last post. I found out a little more details on the video, it happened on November 14th in Port-au-Prince Haiti after a very quick but heavy 15 minute rain. The drainage systems are easily clogged and whatever is on the streets flows down to the lower areas of the city. If a rain is heavy enough it will all push out to sea. There is no garbage pickup in place and every restaurant uses valueless and polluting styrofoam. We need to offer better solutions to single use plastic pollution and its not fair to simply blame Hatiens for this. So much of this form of pollution is our first world failing to address the problem in our own countries as well as not holding multinational conglomerates accountable for dumping single use pollution into third world countries. The photograph was taken for general news stories. The main issue of concern in this photograph is the famine in Sudan. In the beginning of 1998, about 250,000 people died during the famine in south-western Sudan As you look at this picture, you tend to notice the boy’s look of malnourishment, but you do not exactly understand what he is doing in this picture till you read the caption. The caption to this photograph explains that a well fed Sudanese man steals corn from a famished boy during a food distribution He decided to take pictures of the 1998 famine because at the time, the famine was not being taken care of, and he wanted people to realize what was going on so more people could help.
