Calm down Karen, it’s just a tube… I get it, a tube coming out of my nose and taped to my face is a lot to take in; but let me tell you more about my NG tube. First things first; “What is an NG tube?” In simple terms, it’s a long tube that gives my medical team access to my stomach and all the fun stuff inside. When I’ve had bowel blockages in the past, or when Olivia’s “fallen asleep” for long periods of time, I’ve had NG tubes placed to decompress my stomach. Having my tube placed was not a comfortable time BUT, having AMAZING NURSES (you know who you are) makes the experience so much better. After one of my surgeries, I pulled my NG out in my sleep; I called my nurse and he was so calm about it all. He ended up dancing and cheering me on as he was placing the NG (if you read this, thank you… I needed that laugh). If you’re getting your first NG tube, this is a general idea of how they are placed. Hopefully, this makes it way less intimidating for you: * Your nurse will come in with a bunch of supplies (don’t worry, it looks scarier than it is). * The NG tube will be measured from your nose to the sternum, this makes sure that it gets placed in the right area. * I’ve always been sitting upright for my tube placements, my nurses have me sip water during the procedure; this helps the placement be more comfortable for the patient. * The nurses will ask you to bend your head forward while 2/3 inches are inserted; once that happens, you will look towards the ceiling while still sipping your water. * Your NG will be taped to your face (I prefer band-aids) and then you will have a chest X-Ray to make sure it’s in the correct spot. Here are my tips for coping with an NG: * Get your nurse to put your NG in the freezer before they place it, it makes it hurt less! * Don’t be embarrassed about your tube! Having something physically attached to your face can 100% make you self-conscious, but you deserve to feel beautiful as you are. I would do my hair every day and wear my own jammies; this made me 10x more comfortable & confident about my tube. * Hard candies, cure dry mouth I hope this helps! The Ordinary Serum Foundations. When these first came out I think I bought the 2.1Y and it looked dreadful on me. I wanted to find something I can use everyday and something that’s cheaper than my Bobbi Brown stick in honey and Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder in 6 & 7. All completely different shades 🤣 yet they all look quite good. My skin changes like the wind 💨 . Undertones - I have no idea 🤷‍♀️about so I decided to go for 1.2n for my daughter and 2.0N and 2.0YG for me. I have light mid tone, ageing, olivey skin with melasma (lovely). The 2.0N works best for me, but when I first put it on, I honestly thought it was going to be way too light. But everyone said that these go darker, and it did. No line around the neck - this really is a first! In the photo if you swipe, the lighting changed A LOT but I think you can see the coverage is pretty good for one layer. The serum foundation is incredibly light and thin yet gives an amazing coverage. I’m really really impressed. The only thing is that I do see a few more lines so will make sure I use more hydration before using. My skin is normal - dry in places and this has lasted amazingly all day. Some of the videos I watched said they may not be great for oily skin. I really think these are worth a go but it is difficult matching them. The N (neutral) has really worked for me and the 1.2n works really well to lighten under the eyes and basically use as a highlighter For under 7$€£ these are amazing. Check the price @deciem because there are some authorised sites selling these at a higher price. It would be wonderful if @deciem would make sample sets we could buy of light/medium/dark to find the perfect shade. Do you like these? Would you say they are a dupe for an expensive brand? Do you have any tips using these? THE INKEY LIST OAT CLEANSING BALM REVIEW 💫 So, I’ve been using this for the last few weeks and I’ve got to say, I’m a fan. I have heard soooo many great reviews of this product, I just had to try it. It’s quite affordable and can easily be picked up from @sephoraaus It’s been so gentle on my skin, removing makeup effectively and leaving it feeling clean. It has a light, clean, oaty (duh) smell and the texture is thick, but quickly melts into skin and becomes creamy. It does leaves a residue on the skin, but tbh, my dry skin appreciates it! My only reservation, is sometimes when I have a lot of eye makeup on, I find it can go into my eyes and make things a little hazy 😅 Not sure if that’s just me, has anyone else found that? But, I don’t wear too much eye makeup, so not a deal breaker for me. Overall, I would probably repurchase! There are some other cleansers I want to try, so maybe I won’t buy straight away but I think I will eventually make my way back to this 🌟 Have you tried this before? Bye-bye, pink tax 👋 New York State Assembly passed a bill to end the “pink tax,” which is when companies charge more for women’s products that are nearly identical to the men’s equivalent. And we have to say, it’s about damn time. The bill prohibits businesses from charging different prices for products that are essentially the same, but branded differently for men and women. A study by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs in 2015 found that prices on goods marketed to women are 7% higher than prices for men’s products, and a whopping 13% higher for personal care products specifically.
