Some T47 BB details. I treat the frame with phosphoric acid before primer. This helps prevent corrosion and preps the steel so the primer can bite in. #zukascycles #madeinaugustaga #madeingeorgia #T47 #threadsarereal #bottombracket #internalrouting #steelisreal #custombicycle - @natezukas on Instagram

Going way back to September 1970, I was a high school freshman in my first machine shop class. The bevel square was the required project to get the kids going, the valve core tool was my first lathe project. The reason these are still around is that they are useful tools that have served me well. #tbt #50years #patina #steelisreal #okboomer - @paragonmachine on Instagram

LEAVE LESS TRACE. TAFT is rebolted. Fixe Glue ins on everything except the static side of the 30m because they were stainless and super good enough. Almost all bolts installed these days are now stainless and we are still working on making that 100% because if we think long term, 100 years from now, we will take hours to consider where the bolts are to be placed, toothpick and q-tip detail the glue, and use quality materials. I don’t believe bolts are needed for most highlines and I advocate for not using them if not absolutely required. And at Taft we installed 3 bolts at each anchor because there are not other things to back them up to (like Lost Arrow) and most people feel better on 3, but we didn’t need 4. We patched well so you can’t see old bolts and in Bolting Bible version 2021 we will show more detail how to do color matching and rock mixing with epoxy putty. It really cleans it all up well. ROSTRUM is done. The anchor that goes to 35m and is shared with 7m is now Fixe Glue ins as well. Old rusty bolts removed, and holes reused. Far side is still power bolts but they are good bolts and don’t need to be changed for a long time if ever in our lifetime (and never seen by anyone but highliners). The pattern is compatible with the 7m line (if anyone even rigs that anymore). Someone anonymous installed three more fixe glue ins for the 163m which was a nice job and nice to have. It was not required to rig it originally but nice to have, no big deal. ELEPHANT ROCK is a 50m, 30m and 275m. And you guessed it, Fixe glue in bolts. The 30m didn’t need any as it could be rigged off 275m bolts and all natural on one side so very few bolts for an area that has no road closures, no bird closures and no climbing required for something just 5 minutes from the road. LOST ARROW. See previous post. - @hownottohighline on Instagram

“Made in the U.S.A.” This is on the handle I cut off of of an old crank. Not sure what it was used for. I guess it shows some patriotism as I don’t think I’d feel okay with this piece if it said “Made in China”. Anyway, happy to have some time in the studio this morning and now this is truly one of a kind, made in the USA. #metalworks #metalsculpture #wallsculpture #foundmetal #upcycle #yohoartists - @miriamhendel3636 on Instagram
