I completed the #SummerofCMTR Trash Talk challenge today and very quickly filled up two bags with garbage! I should have brought more bags! I’m also assuming that a runner’s used gel package fell out of their pocket by accident (that’s definitely happened to me before). Some cyclists saw me and thanked me, which was also nice and unexpected. It was great to run into @peter.leventis! I think this is the first time I’ve seen him since the lockdown so naturally we had to take a selfie. I also completed the Unplugged badge yesterday and Daisy took me on a 1.5 hour jaunt (basically a marathon for a 4 lb Chihuahua). This badge was a tough one for me due to my job, which involves media monitoring. I was destined to be overweight forever. So I didn’t do anything about it. But one night I was tired of it all. Tired of the shortness of breath. Tired of the knee pain. Tired of not being able to wear the things I wanted to wear. Tired of hating what I saw in the mirror when I knew what was inside was beautiful. So I decided to change my ways even if I didn’t have faith it would work. I knew what I was doing was definitely not working so it couldn’t hurt. And to my surprise it was working. Slowly but surely. The weight started to shed. 1 lb at a time turned into 30 lbs. I have never been more thankful towards myself for reclaiming my power to take control of my circumstance and how I treat myself and my body. I have never been so into fitness in my life and fueling my body properly while still not feeling deprived, because your girl still loves her carbs and sweets. And I have never been so happy in my damn life. If you want to change you can. But only you can do it. No one else. And trust me there is no quick fix. - Moving the scale in the right direction. I wish I had a photo of my first weigh in when I was 311 lbs, but I have many others. The bottom right weigh in at 187.8 lbs is my most recent weigh in.

A few weeks ago I had to weigh myself for a medical procedure and I wish I hadn’t. One of the goals of my treatment program (eventually) is to be able to know your weight and not have it affect you (bc that number doesn’t matter and doesn’t change who you are as a person, etc). I guess I’m not there yet 🙃 I kinda thought I knew what my weight was going to be. I kinda thought I could handle it. Narrator: While she technically handled it, she did not handle it well.... Honestly, I freaked out. Because I’ve been experiencing lower body pain (FEET, knees, hips + lower back), my brain immediately blamed this on my weight and the short time frame that I put it on in. Intellectually I KNOW that this is what my body needed to do after two decades of abuse, but the ED part of my brain wants me to intervene and stop it. I can’t stop thinking about that recovery graphic, you know the Recovery Isn’t Linear one. Thinking maybe I’m just on a little downslope right now. Doing a little spiral. But I know what I want/need, and I won’t stop working towards full recovery. I’m just having a bit of a setback. It’s hard to talk about. I don’t know many higher weight people in recovery to ask such delicate questions to. Can I really trust my body, when it’s taking me to a size that hurts? Is this overshoot? What if it’s not? I wish I’d never heard of it 😞 Do I have to stay in a body that hurts so I don’t have a brain that hurts? Do I just get used to having sore bits, or will it get better in time? Is there some kind of balance? I feel the best I have ever felt around food right now. I can eat what I like, join in to spontaneous plans, I don’t need/want control like I used to. I haven’t purged in a really really long time. But then I’m also angry at the body I’m in right now. I feel really really weird and conflicted but also determined and committed. So yeah, I got a lot of feelings, and I don’t know what to do with them all 🤷‍♀️ I am very very thankful that my Body Image Group is starting this week, and I found + signed up for a Compassion-focused Therapy Group through one of the local universities. All the memes about gaining 30 lbs while were social distancing and staying home are SO real. I have struggled with my weight since I was 10 years old. Its forever been a battle that Ive never been able to win. Ive tried crash dieting, trendy dieting, and and even unhealthier options. Never thought Id be posting this but think I need some public accountability while were stuck at home with stockpiles of food. 130 days ago, I started a new diet and made lots of life changes after feeling really helpless after our miscarriage in October. In those 4 months, Ive lost 40 lbs. The last time I was this size, I was 13 years old. 1 month into lockdown and I havent gained any back - but I still have 10 lbs to go. May this very public ousting get me there while were on lockdown and serve as a reminder of how far Ive come on my journey. And to never go back. - F/32/5’5 [225 148 = 77lbs] such a huge difference but also apparently I shrunk. I swear I was 5’6 my whole adult life and I rechecked and I am clearly 5’5 what the?!?!

- After years of my ex telling me to go to the gym and it beating me down, I am finally doing it MY way. Almost 20 lbs down thanks to cutting out alcohol for 2 months and playing Beat Saber (virtual reality game) 5 nights a week! Not much but its a start!

- Hit what I thought was GW but feel like a little more would be better. Feeling great. The first picture was after my twins but before my fourth child. Currently 18:6 but often OMAD is thrown in.

- F/28/5’5 [303pounds- 150pounds= 153] photos were taken September 2016 (highest weight of 303) September 2017 (33 weeks pregnant, 199 lbs) and just last weekend at 150 lbs. seeing nutrition and mental health help and hitting the gym. Doing my best to be healthy for my family.

- One month results! Less than one month of IF! Mostly 18/6 with some 16/8 and 20/4 peppered in. It’s so easy and I feel fabulous! I can’t wait to see my comparison picture 3 months from now. This has been a success for me because I can still eat what I want; I just wait for my window!
