Every morning as a kid I would see old hustlers trying to scramble to the market right at the break of dawn trying to get the best spot at the market so they could sell their vegetables for a mere few dollars. I photographed this 100 year old woman in her small ranch kitchen outside Gallatin Gateway, Montana many years ago. People among their stuff tells a more in-depth story. I had her hold the wedding photo, and honestly I cannot now remember if it was hers or her parents photo, but the point was to remind the viewer that this 100 year old woman was once very young like them. And that when she looks out at the world she sees it as she did when she was young. People’s bodies grow old but the person inside does not. Rootes beschloss stattdessen, die Montagearbeiten an Jensen in West Bromwich in England zu vergeben und Shelby eine Lizenzgebühr für jedes produzierte Auto zu zahlen . Zwei Hauptversionen des Tigers wurden gebaut: Der Mark I (1964–1967) wurde mit dem 4,3-l- Ford V8 (260 cu in) ausgestattet ; Der Mark II, von dem im letzten Jahr der Tiger-Produktion nur 633 gebaut wurden, war mit dem 4,7-l-Motor mit größerem Hubraum ausgestattet. Zwei Prototypen und umfangreich modifizierte Versionen des Mark I nahmen an den 24 Stunden von Le Mans im Jahr 1964 teil , beendeten das Rennen jedoch nicht. Mit einigem Erfolg trat Rootes auch bei europäischen Rallyes in den Tiger ein und war zwei Jahre lang der nationale Rekordhalter der American Hot Rod Association über einen Viertelmeilen- Drag-Strip . Die Produktion endete 1967 kurz nach der Übernahme der Rootes Group durch Chrysler , der keinen geeigneten Motor als Ersatz für den Ford V8 hatte. Laurin & Klement RK/M 1913-21 The #LaurinandKlement #MladáBoleslav🇨🇿 car plant, producing cars from 1906, rapidly became one of the most important car makers in the monarchy over the next few years. Its commercial and passenger vehicles, which it produced in all categories and with a very wide range of many types, were sold with great success abroad too. This #LaurinandKlementRKM car, part of the National Technical Museum collection, was bought in 1913 by the legendary car racing driver Count #AlexanderKolowrat. The car originally had a five-litre sleeve-valve engine of the RK type, which Kolowrat ordered to be replaced in the factory in 1921 by a special M type racing engine with overhead valves, of which only two were made. In the first half of the twenties, this redesigned car garnered numerous successes with #FrantišekSvoboda behind the wheel in domestic sports and racing events. Touring and sports car with a water-cooled four-stroke four-cylinder OHV engine placed length- -wise behind the front axle and with rear-wheel drive. A cute lil Frenchie for #FrenchFriday. This very yellow Peugeot 104 was in a yard along with other odd classic cars and obscure stuff like the Dacia Lastun. The 104 was the predecessor to the very loved 205. It was a practical yet fun to drive supermini with plenty of character. And of course, being French, it had a bunch of odd stuff which no genius other than a Peugeot engineer who drank too much wine would explain. At launch, in 1972, it was a 4 door saloon because apparently, they feared it would steal sales from the 204 estate which was pretty outdated by 1972. The rear looked like it was a hatchback but the rear window didnt open with the boot. The 2 door version had a shorter wheelbase than the normal one, due to it being the sporty version although the engines were the same. It also had 2 different front ends for each version, the 2 door having longer headlights. The 104 was discontinued in 1988, 5 years after the release of the 205, its successor, having been kept as an entry level budget car. Annoyingly I havent been able to pinpoint exactly what this uncooked french fry color is. Could be anything from Jaune Hoggar to Jaune Primevère or a potential respray. Either way its pretty cool. #मराठा_मुठीची_तलवार छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांनी उण्यापुऱ्या ५० वर्षात बरीच उलाढाल करून मराठा साम्राज्याचा पाया घातला यावेळी त्यांनी तत्कालीन परिस्थितीचा विचार करून आपल पारड जड रहाव अशा अनेक नवीन सुधारणा घडवून आणल्या त्यातीलच एक सुंदर उदाहरण म्हणजे मराठा मुठीची तलवार होय सुलतानांच्या पदरी नोकरी करणारे मराठे अनेक शस्त्रे वापरत यात तलवार, पट्टा, भाला, धनुष्य, विटा(एक घातक शस्त्र), वाघनखे, बाण इत्यादी परंतु उत्तरेकडचे मुस्लिम शासक मराठ्यांच्या तलवारीपेक्षा लांब व मजबूत असलेली तलवार वापरत आणि याउलट मराठ्यांची शस्त्रे लांबीने कमी व हलकी होती* यात अमुलाग्र बदल करून छत्रपतींनी एक नवी सर्वोत्तम मराठा मुठीची तलवार तयार केली ही तलवार लांब असून त्याचे पाते युरोपियन पध्दतीचे होते शिवाय त्याला परज तयार करुन संरक्षित मुठ तयार केली या मुठीमुळे तलवार धरणाऱ्या हाताला संरक्षण मिळाले लढाईत शत्रुचा घाव निसटून आला तर तो मुठीच्या परजावर येत असे त्यामुळे हात सुरक्षित राही अशी मुठ उभ्या हिंदुस्थानात कुठल्याही तलवारीला नव्हती मुघलांच्या तलवारी या बिगर मुठीच्या व कमी लांबीच्या होत्या त्यामुळेच मराठे मुघलांच्या सोबत लढण्यात सरस ठरत व त्यांचा विजय होई मराठा मुठीच्या तलवारी या फक्त मराठ्यांच्या प्रदेशातच आढळतात पुढे अशाच तलवारी कुतुबशाहीमध्ये ही काही काळ वापरल्या जात होत्या कुतुबशाहीचा प्रधान असलेला मादाण्णा पंडीत व कारभारी अक्काण्णा पंडित हे छत्रपतींचे अत्यंत निकटचे आणि विश्वासू होते त्यामुळे दोन्ही राज्यात चांगले संबंध होते मराठा मुठीच्या तलवारींमध्ये अनेक प्रकार आहेत यात धोप, खांडा, फिरंग, कत्ती, समशेर, इत्यादी तलवारीचा समावेश होतो छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज फिरंग मराठा मुठीच्या तलवारी वापरत श्री तुळजा फिरंग तलवार, जगदंबा तलवार, भवानी तलवार इत्यादी तलवारी उपलब्ध माहितीवरून छत्रपतींच्या वापरात होत्या यातील एक तलवार सिंधुदुर्ग किल्ल्यातील शिवराजेश्वर मंदीरात, दुसरी सातारा देवघरात (एक अंदाज) तर तिसरी रत्नजडित जगदंबा तलवार इंग्लंडच्या सेंट जेम्स पॅलेस येथील रॉयल कलेक्शनमधील व्हिक्टोरिया राणीच्या खाजगी संग्रहातील कॅटलॉगमध्ये ठेवली आहे (चित्र रत्नजडित जगदंबा तलवारीचे आहे चित्रात दिसणारी मुठ ही मराठा मुठ म्हणून जगभर प्रसिद्ध आहे) 🙏🙏 घरीच रहा, सुरक्षित रहा, घाबरु नका पण योग्य ती काळजी नक्कीच घ्या... जय #जिजाऊ, जय #शिवराय, जय #शंभुराजे🚩💥🚩💥🚩💥💥🚩💥🚩💥🚩 - @gadkillesafar on Instagram

- Picked my bike up from the shop, looks like it made a few friends.
It is so peacefully hopeful to see photos of early Black Americans in rural farm settings and they’ve become my favorite types of photos to collect. I actually was gifted a similar photo of my great grandfather and his parents that Ill share one day! These types of photos beam with pride at what they accomplished and built with their hands! I image that in this photo, as far as their eyes could see, they saw fields of plenty. Corn, collards, butter beans, okra, squash, and sweet potatoes. Many Black American families in the south owned hundreds of acres in the early 1900’s that allowed them to insulate themselves with self sufficiency and opportunities for generations. Our early #Blackfarmers were some of our first business men and they understood the importance of land and inheritance. For them, land was a source of #freedom. We can only image the constant challenges southern Black farmers of the 19th and 20th centuries, many who had experienced slavery first hand, had to face daily to keep their land. The day to day tasks of planting, reaping, managing debts and taxes before quickbooks and keeping their children connected to the land had to be very challenging. I can imagine the satisfaction they must have felt from working their own land and knowing their toiling was not for the benefit of anyone else except their own families and communities. There had to be great satisfaction that rested in their souls from knowing their land had their FREE blood, sweat and tears embedded in the soil. We have two photographers to thank for these images: William Roads, who took the earliest known photograph of Monticello, and the prolific Rufus W. / CLASSIC RESTOS / Fletch travels to Orange in NSW to discover Deans country-style shed. Initially built to get their cars undercover and out of the frost. The shed now includes a vast collection of bits and pieces, collected over the past ten years. Vehicles include a VW Kombi that was his fathers, which they worked on to get it back on the road and in running order. A 1954 FJ Holden Ute, acquired from a local Holden dealer who was clearing out his shed. There is also 1973 HQ Wagon in very good condition and is the families daily drive. And a 1934 Royal Enfield that will be restored over time. A very special car with @classiccarspakistan . 1945 Chevrolet Fleetmaster With a victory emblem at the hood glorifying Americas victory in the 2nd World War(this was one of the earliest production by America following the war).This was founder of Pakistans Staff car and used in protocol movements during the fight of Independence. The owner auctioned it from Peshawar after independence and kept it for many years until he let go of it and passed away. The car was tracked down by his son who found it in a dismal condition and restored it to perfection. Interesting Classic Mercedes Find Sort of a “barn” find mercedes Ponton w120 180 petrol. Last parked inside a garage roughly in 1960... sees the sun after almost 60 years. Under the caked dust the Ponton has held up its original paint, original seats and dashboard.. everything is as it came new. Still has the old tires and the 6 volt battery with it.
