She’s patiently waiting for all of the feasts to come. It’s kind of ridiculous, because I have so many pics that I could share, but I pause because that pot on the table needed a plant. The ridiculous pressures of Instagram lol. To more missing plants, and not totally complete shelves! This is our 1800s log cabin that we found on our property that we had renovated. She’s a special place. We bought the land not realizing what a gem was hidden on it and tearing it down was just not an option for us. So now she’s attached to our home and truly the perfect place for those love filled dinners. I am completely loving our new @SamsungUS Jet 90 Cordless Vacuum #ad It has been a lifesaver for those hard to reach places (under consoles, baseboards, etc.). I absolutely love that it’s cordless making it so much easier to grab when there’s a mess or for quick cleanup when I don’t have much time to clean the house. Our family struggles with allergies as well so having a vacuum that has a 5-Layer Hepa Filtration System that traps 99.999% of microdust for cleaner air in our home has been wonderful. #samsunghomeappliances - @thistle.harvest on Instagram
Working with reclaimed timber from @southamptonwoodrecycling today - each piece has been salvaged from being sent to landfill by this wonderful social enterprise. This wood had some splashes of tar which required a bit of manual sanding to remove. The beams are up! . . $75 and around 6 very interrupted hours of work and we have beams in our entry. 🤗 I love beams. Probably too much. Like we almost bought the wrong house because it had gorgeous beams level of love. My husband knows this well and so did not really fight me on this project. We had long discussions on how many and the size. My opinion is more is more when it comes to beams, but we went with two and I’m glad we did. They fit the space without making it busy. ▫️SOLD▫️ Oh gosh, the mid-century modern tallboy dresser of your dreams has arrived! This stunning piece, made in Ontario, Canada by McLagan Furniture in the 70’s is built to LAST! 4 beautiful sliding drawers, warm vaneer top and outside frame, and 4 absolutely adorable miniature pin legs. In the mid 70’s, using veneer on the body of a dresser became the norm so they withstood wear and lasted longer. I refinished the top, gave it a coat of high quality oil, and filled in some nicks with a wood filler. As shown in the last picture, there is a small gouge on the front edge that I filled in with wood crayon but there is still some damage showing. Also, a small piece of vaneer is missing on the side at the very bottom (also filled in to hide- now extremely unnoticeable) - both reflected in price. Otherwise in STUNNING shape for 50 years old. Measures 38” high, 38.5” wide, 19” deep DM to purchase, e-transfer to secure sale. Pickup within 2 days in Martinon- cannot hold for longer. By their simplest definition, mouldings are constructed to create a contrast of light and dark. The shading gives structural objects definition without changing the material or applied pigments. And yet, if you look at the two moulding profiles here, you’ll see that somewhere in the course of history a modification has taken place. For many years, the transformation has gone unnoticed by the building community. However, there is a groundswell of American Craftsman noticing that the profile above on the left just doesn’t look or feel right. Something has morphed over time and it has all but lost any ornamentation detail. The area my sister lives is currently battling a forest fire and to be safe rather than sorry, she packed up her kids and cat last night to evacuate and come stay here with us. So thankful for this home and space to be able to have them here and so thankful for everyone working so hard to keep the fires contained! Her neighborhood is fine and it was just a precaution but we all slept better knowing she was here. Except the cat. The cat didn’t have a great night.
