Vegan Caramel Sauce⁠ ⁠ When I think about fall, three things come to mind: pumpkin, apples, and caramel! Although I love caramel so much, it is made with heavy whipping cream and, well, just unhealthy! I created a vegan, healthier version that tastes just as great (I promise, you are going to love this recipe!). It is super easy to make, with just 3 ingredients: maple syrup, coconut oil, and almond butter.⁠ ⁠ I use my Thermomix® to melt the coconut oil and warm it up with the maple syrup, then add the magical butterfly whisk attachment to whip in the almond butter. The result: a gooey, sticky, sweet vegan caramel sauce! Every single salon I have spoken with is having the s a m e issues. + + Friendly reminder ✨ Last Minute Cancellations: We require 36 hours , not 24, not same day.. 36 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment to avoid charges on your account. We fully understand if your kiddos are sick & make an exception to that with how strict everything is right now [ legit my kid is thrilled he isn’t allowed at daycare because of his sniffles, so from a mom to another mom I feel you 🍷] + + NO SHOW: how is this still a thing ?! We send out two reminders and then text if we see your not confirmed?! Forever will be confused on this one and will preach about it till I retire I’m thinking. If you plan to not come and we are texting to get a confirmation can you just let us know, ghosting appointments is not very nice and is kinda weird 🤭 no shows require 100% of service to be paid or we may just not rebook you at all. When we REALLY stop and think about our story and how God has led us to each other, we cannot help but praise Him for the road we’ve both walked. Divorced. Widower. Two titles that no longer define us. They’ve shaped us. They’ve been part of the sanctification process. They’ve taught us so much. Now, don’t get me wrong - our marriage is holy. We firmly believe that God brought us together for his purpose - His Good Purpose. But Darren is not my savior. I am not his either. We’ve been brought together to walk this life together with our eyes on the unseen, the eternal, the always was, always is, and always will be - our God. Redeemed. Saved. Son and Daughter of Christ. Chosen. Loved. These are the titles we have been given by the grace of God. These are the titles we live by and praise God for. It would be easy to say we are “blessed” in our worldly sense. We’ve found love again. We live on a farm with 4 beautiful & loving girls. We have love. We have our church. We have been given friends who love Jesus first and foremost. We have our health. But if we’ve learned anything in our lives - those can ALL be taken from us. Each other, the farm, our girls, our health, our friends. But there is ONE that can never be taken from us, our God. And HE is who our identity lies with. So when we use the word “blessed” - let’s remember it’s original intent. True blessing is withness and being right with God. It’s abiding in Him. It’s not a house, or followers, or things, or opportunities. All can be taken away. In fact, in Job we learn that sometimes God’s wrath looks like Him giving us what we want 😳 So those worldly “blessings” may not be blessings at all because they tear away our need, our trust, and our love for Christ. Think about that. We’ve walked some PAINFUL roads, but he promises us the morning. He promises he will be with us when we face adversity and hardships. Not “if,” but when. If we are sitting in comfort right now, think about your need for Christ. Is it there? SESJA ZDJĘCIOWA - CZY TAK NAPRAWDĘ NIEZBĘDNA? . Obecnie każdy z nas ma na codzień przy sobie aparat. Komórki potrafią zrobić zdjęcia technicznie nawet lepsze od niektórych lustrzanek. Co więcej, posiadanie dobrego aparatu już od dawna nie jest czymś „specjalnym”. Wystarczy trochę bardziej się zainteresować, otworzyć filmiki na YouTube - i już potrafisz zrobić zdjęcie nie gorsze niż nie jeden profesjonalny fotograf. Ściągasz kilka aplikacji na telefon - i masz ładne kolory na zdjęciach... . Chyba zawód fotografa powoli dobiega kresu... tak czy nie? . No właśnie że NIE. Mimo to, że fotograf od dawna już nie jest specjalistą który jako jedyny potrafi obsłużyć „mądrą maszynę” i zrobić porządne zdjęcie - nadal jest potrzebny. Aparaty od dawna są łatwe obsłudze, i każdy z nas ma możliwość robienia zdjęć niemalże bez przerwy. Galerie w komórkach nie raz są przepełnione. Nie raz wystąpi jakiś błąd albo sprzęt się popsuje - i zdjęcia znikają na zawsze. Nie raz udaje nam się zrobić ładne ujęcie, obiecujemy sobie go przyciąć w aplikacji, nałożyć jakiś ładny filter... i zwyczajnie zapominamy. Znacie to? . A wiec po co jest fotograf? 1. To jest człowiek który w danej chwili zajmuje się wyłącznie robieniem zdjęć. Czyli odciąża przede wszystkim Ciebie. Możesz się zająć sobą, rodziną, bieżącymi sprawami (np na wydarzeniu). 2. Fotograf złapie prawdziwe emocje. Ma do tego wprawę i jest za to odpowiedzialny. 3. Nie jest ważne ile zdjęć zrobi fotograf, ile z nich będzie nieudanych - nie musisz się tym zajmować:) na koniec dostajesz starannie przygotowaną historię o Tobie/ Twoich najbliższych. 4. Nie musisz się zastanawiać gdzie zrobić zdjęcie i jak do niego się ustawić - fotograf wszystko podpowie. 5. Zwyczajnie na koniec dostajesz wspaniałą możliwość popatrzenia na siebie z innej perspektywy:) . Ja również przynajmniej raz na rok zamawiam sesję zdjęciową dla siebie i swojej rodziny. Jak dotąd każda z nich stała się fantastyczną pamiątką dla nas i najbliższych. . Co myślicie na ten temat? I haven’t talked much about it lately... but behind me is a big ol’ mess. a beautiful mess.. that I’m grateful for. but whew. a mess. it’s been this way since February and there really is no end in sight. The project lost it’s momentum when covid hit. we’ve been living with no kitchen, floors, walls... everything we own boxed up, covered in dust. all of us in a tiny space above the garage, the girls share a twin and my son on a cot in one room for 30+ weeks. I could go on and on about the details (if it could go wrong, it’s gone wrong)... and how bad I miss simple things like cooking. ugh mostly cooking. and walking around without shoes. I was talking to my friend the other day.. she was telling me how she was feeling out of control and “not fine”. and then she said to me you must be not fine? and I said no, not really. but how do you find joy amidst mess and chaos and waiting.. whatever that may be. when you’re just pushing through? put on the dress, use the fine china, play music, adopt a kitty or a bunny or two (ok maybe not)... point is, don’t wait for the perfect day, month or year. find joy now. right smack dab in the middle of it. and did I say play music? play a lot of music. praise and worship really works. #restoringhenry one baby step at a time. - @lovesarahschneider on Instagram

I think being a mother has shown me the deepest love one could have. My three littles (and 3 looking down on us) have opened my eyes to the importance of being present & intentional, even though its so hard when there is so much to do. I love how motherhood has empowered me and yet humbled me in ways I wasn’t even aware of beforehand. I’m forever thankful for these three I have calling me mama 💛 And for my own mama, I may have no memories of her but my love for her is hard to explain. For as long as I can remember, I’ve never had the best relationship with my body. I was mean and destructive towards her. I never thought of her as “beautiful” or “perfect”.. I looked at her through impossible eyes. Then I had my baby and it changed everything. I have stretch marks, loose skin, a weird belly button, and a new perspective. I started following @deeplyrootedmag a few years ago. They stood out to me because as a company their desire is to help women know God and understand what it means to truly Glorify Him. I always want to be someone who points to Jesus through the art and work I do. However, I never imagined that I would get the privilege of doing work WITH them. This issue of Deeply Rooted is particularly special to me because I was able to be a part of it. I’m really thankful that I can be a small part of the bigger message Deeply Rooted is sharing with Women- What it means to Glorify God in Womanhood. Ironically, (as I’m posting on Instagram right now) the article that my artwork is featured in is titled “7 Potential Social Media Snares for the Christian”. In his article, Dr. Peter Goeman talks about how social media is not wrong in and of itself but how easily the problems social media creates can go unnoticed or ignored if we aren’t careful (highly recommend the read). As Meghan was shooting, she made comments about the photos looking like an oil painting. I couldnt imagine it, but when I saw this sneak peek photo, I was alone in my room and literally gasped aloud. Something about this image evokes this radical self love and acceptance in me, and also feels like it is beyond me I am looking at. A friend called the photo goddess of new life and in my own journaling about what I wanted to feel like during the shoot, I pictured a fairy goddess out in nature. My affirmation for the experience -- Surrender and you will be free. Freedom found me under the tree, topless, bare foot and surrounded by brush in muted greenery. I didnt want to be in my head. I wanted to let what I felt guide my actions. Around the time this photo was taken, my attention instantly turned to the sounds of Mother Nature, I could hear crickets chirping, the croaks of maybe some frogs in the lake nearby, birds chattering, the water lapping and insects all around us buzzing. It was melodic -- a harmony that elevated that moment. Exactly what I imagine forest bathing to feel like. It washed over me. Words 👏🏻 are 👏🏻 hard 👏🏻 today. 😂 We got home from our spur of the moment getaway last night, and it was just too good. We ran off to Hailey, Idaho which is about 20 minutes outside of Sun Valley. On Saturday we zipped up to Stanley for a hike and soak in the fall leafs and just explored. It was hard to come back to reality. 🍁 It was a weekend where we made lots of memories, hiked, played, swam, stayed up too late having movie nights in our hotel room, and most of all I was able to talk, listen, and soak up every detail of my girls. It was the perfect little family getaway before busy season hits full swing for me. I have a beautiful family shoot tonight, another on Wednesday, and then two more Friday and Saturday. 😅 Wish me luck! I still pinch myself that this is my job! One more month with a two year old. One more month as my only baby. It hasn’t quite hit me until today 😭 This year has been really hard for us as far as behavior and sleep goes, and this lady is STRONG. WILLED. I know, I know, toddlers are, but she is next level intense and smart which can be a cocktail for power struggles and tears (so many tears). This year she has taught Jerrin and I more than ever about grace and patience, and brought out the best and worst in both of us. She has the power to push us to the brink of insanity and peak of bliss within minutes. She is magically wonderful and frustratingly manipulative. I’ve never felt more guilt or asked for forgiveness more than this. We have both cried more tears together this summer than ever before, yet I know I will miss this sweet innocence for the rest of my life. She is perfect to us through every struggle, and so unbelievably amazing in every single way. So I’m taking it all in and hugging her extra close before she has to share us with her sister. I will treasure these days that she will never remember with every breath I take, and only wish they would quit running, jumping, and twirling by so quickly. I am proud of how far I have come. (That’s right I said it!) The best advice I can give to anyone, is to get help when you’re struggling. Face your struggles and learn to understand them, don’t let them control you. I’m on a path of self discovery. That path started with rock bottom. Then a huge load of depression w/ nothing to numb it. That lead to therapy and now I am healing. Healing all of my past traumas, learning to love myself, becoming grateful and working on being present to enjoy the life I’ve always wanted. Why am I telling you all this? Because if I didn’t get the help I needed I could have lost my family. And that means I could have lost: A man who supports all Of my dreams, is kind, patient and an amazing father. A son who is full of life, and makes me want to bring nothing but joy into his childhood when mine was lacking of. And two doodles, that are just the beginning to my happy doodle farm. On this day a year ago my beautiful baby sister had a baby of her own. I immediately booked a flight to Saskatchewan and was there within 24 hours. I was blessed enough to be there when she and my amazing brother-in-law brought this bundle of joy home. There have been so many precious moments since that first one. The return of autumn🍂🍂 inspired by @sabrinas_magic #littlemagicfromabove With #30photosinseptember ending tomorrow, Im looking forward to October. Its one of my favorite months of the year, because in October, Autumn is on its best here in the Netherlands. There have been several people talking about content creation that adds value, and content creation just for fun. Stating that its okay to just post a pretty picture without any concept behind it. It made me think and Im really curious what you guys think about this. At first I felt a bit guilty because I kinda like the quality over quantity idea. Learning more about it has made it easier for me to communicate certain ideas and it made me better as creator creator (Im still learning). Also it has been fun to see my process. Personally I love to see content with a few extra layers and read captions that do have a bit of meaning. @allegra.rogaar is really good at this. But on the other hand I get it. Sometimes an idea pops up in your head and you feel really happy about it, you create it and thats fun. When somebody drills you about the purpose and meaning, it kinda takes the fun out of it. And I also agree that its not all about the heaviness, a good concept can be a funny one, maybe one only you understand, a good concept can be different for anyone. So long story short, I think there is room for all sorts of content and Im here for both. Sometimes a simple post with no meaning can make someones day. And sometimes talking about universal things or making something really well thought out can unite all of us together. What about you? Mary & Everett . My beautiful sister in law and sweet nephew, Everett 🌾 Having a baby has changed me — it’s shifted my priorities and shown me what really matters . I am becoming a new version of myself. Someone I dreamt of being someday. For the past few months I’ve been in this ‘new mom, baby bubble.’ Learning it all. Being tired. Knowing nothing, but figuring it out through trial and error. Feeling so in love I’ve wondered if my heart might actually burst. Feeling as if time is irrelevant. Because it was. And if I’m being honest, I felt a disconnect with my work. It didn’t feel right getting back into my old routine - I couldn’t. Everything I do is now slightly different. No more working for hours on end, straight, until a film is finished. I am a mom before everything and I wouldn’t change a single second. This side project has been such a refresher for me. It’s been so inspiring capturing other mommas and talking to them about their journeys. I feel so empowered by simply being around other women going through motherhood before me. It’s giving me the drive to pick up a camera again and capture something so meaningful. Weve been soaking for the last few days and we havent withered away... yet.🤘⁠ •⁠ We had to detour and skip a handful of stops because of the snow and a rock slide that closed down the highway. I didnt actually take the weather into consideration during my planning (rookie mistake). Obviously weve been chasing the sun too long and forgot that some people actually get a real winter. 😜⁠ •⁠ So far weve hit six pools but this was one of our favorites along the way! Well, its been quite a summer for kitchen woes. In the grand scheme of things and in comparison to the bigger worries of the world, a few broken kitchen appliances isnt a huge deal. But when youre stuck at home during a pandemic, cooking endless meals, trying to keep the family happy and fed, while also trying to eek out some semblance of your own creative passions/work (which happen to be food related), a broken kitchen is kind of the worst. First it was the floor, then the fridge, then the freezer, and now its the whole kitchen sink. The plumber comes back again tomorrow, so heres hoping I dont have to keep washing produce in the bathroom vanity this weekend. Het is klaar. Dit zal de laatste keer zijn dat jullie Sem met zijn gezichtje vol in beeld op mijn feed zien verschijnen. Het is klaar en genoeg geweest. Eerder deelde ik al dat ik besloten had om Sem vanaf zijn 4e verjaardag niet meer in beeld te brengen, maar na goed nadenken en gesprekken voeren heb ik besloten dat die dag vandaag al is aangebroken. De laatste tijd deel ik al wat terughoudender foto’s van Sem. Ik verdiep me meer in de duistere wereld omtrent social media en kinderen en het maakt me misselijk. Als klapper op de vuurpijl kreeg ik een paar dagen geleden de reactie in de swipe. Ik weet dat het “erbij hoort” en dat ik er zelf voor “kies” om veel te delen, maar dit gaat voor mij te ver. Ookal ben ik beretrots op Sem en laat ik hem het liefste aan de hele wereld zien, weet ik dat het beter is om ermee te stoppen. Om te voorkomen dat verkeerde mensen ermee aan de haal gaan en om zijn privacy te waarborgen. Kinderen zijn nog zo klein en kwetsbaar, het is aan ons om hen te beschermen. Hetzelfde geldt voor mijn stories. Ik kan niet gaan controleren welke 8.000 mensen per dag mijn verhaal bekijken. Ook daar zal hij dus niet meer volledig in beeld verschijnen. Ik heb er wel iets anders op bedacht. Door de “beste vrienden” functie kan ik zelf handmatig mensen toevoegen. Ik zal binnenkort op stories een oproep doen zodat je een berichtje kunt sturen als je er nog niet in staat, en wel bij wilt om Sem zijn lieve snoetje gewoon nog op mijn afgeschermde verhaal te bekijken.
