A few thoughts today on helping you choose skincare products that you will find compatible with the stage of life you are in based on Ayurveda. Many people choose skincare from a new brand strictly based on the promised results, and some zero in on current hot ingredients or the skin types a given product is assigned to serve. Those are good criteria, but you may end up with a smokey-scented facial mist when you are in your 20s and crave neroli and citrus. This post will cover the concept briefly due to insufficient space, so to the point: according to Ayurveda, during childhood we are in a Kapha stage of life, then in our 20s or so we move into a Pitta stage, and then in our 60s approximately, we move into a Vata stage. Each stage has its characteristics and recommended foods and herbs to stay in balance and thrive during a given stage. Each stage comes with particular personality drives and desires: Kapha wants to be nurtured, pampered, calm, and safe (enjoys calendula, chamomiles, sunflower, and similar sweet, sticky, nurturing, strenghtening, honey-like botanicals and scents). Pitta has a strong need to achieve and express itself physically, runs warm to hot, its liver may get overheated (acne, rosacea, clogged pores). The scents and products Pitta stage tends to crave are cooling, cleansing, physically reinvigorating (rosemary, thyme, citrus, neroli, melon, cucumber; some Pittas like bitters such as neem, goldenseal, chrysanthemum, yarrow; Pittas in their 30s begin to appreciate strong and aphrodysiac florals such as jasmin, osmanthus, narcissus, and roses). Then as we move toward the Vata stage of life (50s for many), there is a shift toward life and the world assessment, contemplation, spiritual strivings, wisdom, and a need for more rest, higher quality sleep, and a slower pace of life. During the Vata stage, the skincare user will develop new likes for smokey scents (vetiver, frankincense, myrrh, benzoin), for even deeper or heavier florals (more jasmin, tuberose, violet, more opulent roses, also lavender), and will enjoy root-derived ingredients such as marshmallow, licorice, slippery elm, astragalus, ginseng). -Ava - @earthwisebeauty on Instagram

A veces me toma unos minutos entrar en confianza. 🍁1: ¡Sé amigable! Si puedes relajarte y disfrutar el conocer a alguien, entonces la otra persona sentirá eso y los hará sentir más cómodos. Hablar con alguien que es súper serio y tiene una expresión de amargado rara vez es agradable, ¿así que porqué poner a alguien en esas? ¡Relaja tu cara y sonríe! Habla con las personas como hablarías con un amigo, y puede que ellos se conviertan en uno. 🍁2: Libera la presión Deja de tener expectativas específicas sobre lo que ocurrirá! Lo que pase, que pase. No esperes nada de ti o de la otra persona además de conocerlos un poco mejor. Además, no fuerces un tema de conversación o seas agresivo sobre lo que estas tratando de decir. Ese tipo de energía aleja a cualquiera que acabas de conocer. Deja que la conversación fluya. 🍁3: Recuerda que el mundo no gira a tu alrededor ¿Que pasa si te hacen una pregunta sobre tu mismo? Respóndela. Pero luego hazles la misma pregunta. Con frecuencia la gente hace preguntas que secretamente quieren que les pregunten, así que voltea la pregunta para ver que tiene que decir tu compañero de conversación. 🍁 4: Sé honesto Por ejemplo, no digas “I love cats too! (¡Yo también amo a los gatos!)” si tu en realidad odias a los gatos. O evita decir “My uncle works in a factory (Mi tío trabaja en una fábrica)” cuando ni siquiera tienes un tío, y menos uno que trabaje en una fábrica. 🍁5: Evita preguntas de círculo-cerrado Las preguntas de círculo-abierto funcionan mucho mejor cuando lo que quieres es hacer que la conversación siga. Presence is foundational for Intimacy💫⁣ ⁣ We are in full swing with the Lover Cleanse program and my clients are currently looking at old habits that are blocking them from TRUE Intimacy. Most of these habits come from a place of seeking love from outside of oneself. ⁣ ⁣ When we seek love from outside of ourselves, we are not present with ourselves or the present moment, and we cannot connect with true intimacy.💔⁣ ⁣ Presence, or the ability to be with, is essential. ⁣ ⁣ For intimacy to take place, we need to be able to be with our own body-minds in the present moment. ⁣ ⁣ To become more available to be in the present moment, here are 4 simple steps: ⁣ ⁣ 1) Invite your awareness to go inside, internally ⁣(put your phone down for a moment:)⁣ 2) FEEL your body inhale - feel your belly expand, ⁣your chest expand, your throat expand. ⁣ 3) FEEL you body exhale - feel your throat release,⁣ your chest release, your belly release.⁣ 4) Repeat as needed. ⁣ ⁣ For whatever reasons, we tend to forget and/or… we just don’t want to feel our bodies - no blame, no shame. Wedding Day 30x40 oil on linen canvas Nocturne Paintings are new to me I’ve only painted two. This was my first painted in March as my response to Covid sheltering in place. It represents a time of freedom when we lived life touching one another. After looking at it again late August I noticed how drab it looked I think the times influenced my color choices. I recently repainted it after my instructor suggested I amp up the light using compressed values, greater saturation and more contrast. I am on my last day of Isolation in Darwin. This is Howard Springs. It has been a lot easier than I thought, but I am looking forward to getting out tomorrow. I am already so homesick for my pups and my garden. I will leave here, spend the weekend in Darwin as I have never been here before then off to work. We spent the Summer improving our Website and Establishing New Wholesale Partnerships and we also spent the summer searching and looking for the best place to Open a Flagship Nizhóní Soap StoreFront. We settled on 3 cities Mesa, AZ, Farmington, NM and Santa Fe, NM. After praying and discussing our options with Family and Friends we decided on Main Street in Farmington, New Mexico. 🙌🏽 Growing up I watched Parades going up and down Main Street and it’s surreal to think my 1st Retail Store will be on the Same Street.
