✡ Svetová architektúra v Žiline, ktorú zachránilo nadľudské úsilie. Sme radi, že prichádzame s výstavou práve do Novej synagógy. Všetkých 209 grafík uvidíte od 8. do 20. septembra. Vytvorili sme novú grafiku synagógy a prišli sme s ňou do Žiliny o deň skôr. Niekoľko kusov sme darovali ľuďom zo synagógy. Zvyšok sme zobrali na stanicu Záriečie, ktorú to isté združenie tiež premenilo na kultúrne centrum európskeho formátu. Synagógu navrhol svetoznámy nemecký architekt Peter Behrens, priekopník modernizmu aj priemyselného staviteľstva. Stala sa jednou z najdôležitejších stavieb na Slovensku a vďačiť za to môžeme architektonickej súťaži z roku 1928. Vieme, čo prišlo potom. Totalita najprv pripravila Židov o ich práva a následne väčšinu z nich zavraždili. Do synagógy sa už nikdy nevrátili. Stal sa z nej sklad obilia a nábytku. Neskôr kultúrny dom, školská aula a kino. Keď sa v roku 2011 ocitla synagóga v ponuke na prenájom, ujali sa jej záchrancovia zo združenia Truc Sphérique v zmluve na 30 rokov. Odvtedy tvrdo pracujú na jej premene na kultúrne centrum. Kúsok po kúsku, ale už nechýba veľa. Toto napísali pred rokmi: „Našou základnou motiváciou je samotná budova. Je múdra aj krásna.“ Autorom grafiky je dizajnér Ondrej Gavalda, ktorý pre nás navrhol koncepciu výstavy. V Žiline si ho pamätajú z doby, keď tvoril graffiti. Follows my previous post - the tutorial for this stunning 12 fold pattern, a variant of which is found on the floor of the Bayt al Kritiyya, now the Gayer Anderson Museum in Cairo. . This version is based on a square repeat tile, rather than a hexagonal seen in the museum. I’ll explain the difference in the tiling in another post, but for now this long overdue tutorial👏🏼 I warn you, if you choose to draw the 4 square tiles as I’ve shown, it’s better on A3 OR bigger. My drawing is on A3 with initial circle radius of 12cm. . . . I didn’t take as many progress photos as I should have, the key is to define the 12 divisions or radials in each of the smaller circles, start with a *vertical* radial. Scroll to colour coded pic no 7 to see the references taken from adjacent circles. The diagonals (45°) are not radials. Once all divisions are in place, draw grid lines of 12 pointed stars, made by connecting every 4th radial in all the circles faintly, connecting and extending...... ! .Then pick out the pattern in the first pic. . . . This pattern makes a wonderful colouring activity with children. I made templates of the 12 pointed stars made from 4 overlapping triangles, with a multitude of grid lines and another with 6 petal rosette in the centre. Once these were coloured in by children, they were cut out and stuck onto a large backing card and finally the petals lines inked in!! See previous post. An exceptional geometric mural of the children’s artwork and day spent @cambridgecentralmosque . . I’ll post those 12 fold stars in a few days. . .But please do try drawing this pattern, it’s not too difficult just time consuming, yet therapeutic at the same time. . . I’d love to see how you get on, and those who are really up for a challenge can draw a weaved version! . . Hoisin Mushroom Gua Baos 🍄 have you ever tried gua baos? MY MOTHER Ayako Tanaka, was hospitalised in Izumo, Shimane-ken, Japan on Tuesday the 18th of August after suffering with shortness of breath, chest pains and having been unable to physically move. Her family were unaware of her situation and were only informed on Friday the 21st of August. After having a multitude of tests, plus a biopsy, the doctors discovered that she has a very rare form of thymic cancer which has spread to multiple organs. Very little is known regarding this specific type of cancer but it is extremely aggressive. Ayako is in a critical condition and the doctors have also stated that she doesn’t have a very long time to live, so all they can do is manage her pain. Having been separated from us (her family) for over 6 months, as Ayako initially went to Japan to care for her mother who is sick, it is imperative that we (her daughters) can be by her side supporting her. Due to the current pandemic we need special permission from the Japanese government and visas to enter Japan. Even once we are allowed to fly to Japan we will be faced with having to quarantine for 14 days. With that being said, the hospital in which Ayako is staying are not allowing any visitors. The only option is to move Ayako to a privately rented apartment along with all the medical equipment and medical staff she requires so we can be with her physically. Unfortunately, due to Ayako having to stay in Japan for such an extended period of time, she doesnt have travel or medical insurance. However, the ultimate goal is to hire a medical plane, which costs around £85,000, to take her back to the UK so she can spend her final days at home with family and friends. As you can imagine, this is a matter of great urgency and the amount of funds that are needed for hospital bills & transport is unknown at this time but anything will be greatly appreciated. 🥟 HOMEMADE PORK & CHIVES GYOZAS 🥟 We love yum cha! We love dumplings! And we have been missing going to our local Chinese Restaurant to have a traditional yum cha Sunday sesh! Recently, you would have seen our reels of us making Pork and Chives Gyozas! People think its hard to make but it is actually super easy and in a weird way, it can be a relaxing experience. Repeating the mince mixture into dumplings wrapper and folding them can become quite hypnotic. Now the secret to doing a gyoza is actually pan frying them before putting water and covering the pan to let it steam. Not only do you get a crispy bottom, but also get the tradition steamed. To make the dumplings dipping sauce, we mix light soy sauce and rice white vinegar. You can also add on sliced chillin, chilli flakes or chilli oil to give it that extra kick! You have the ability to make waves and create change. To me the vitiligo awareness movement is not just about vitiligo. It’s about loving and accepting everyone as they are. No matter the color of their skin or what’s on their skin. This is a campaign for love and kindness. ❤️I hope to live in a world that’s just and fair for everyone. Where the systems put in place help and not hurt communities. I’d be blind If I pretended like we were all treated as if we had equal footing. We don’t. It’s our job to lift the voices of the communities that haven’t been treated fairly and turn inward and ask how we can use our talents and gifts to help. I will never fully understand what a POC experiences. I will never fully understand what someone in the LBTQ+ community experiences. I will love them and I’ll try my very best to be a good ally. The first look of my “Memories” collection recalls when I was a little girl and my mom made several jumpsuits for me, making me a big fan of jumpsuits still today. The sleeves and back panel are hand-woven, using an ancient Chinese weaving process called “Silkworm Weave”. This is a very unique weaving technique, where one thread serves as both the warp and weft, allowing a beautiful swaying motion as its wearer walks along resulting in a stunning visual movement to its overall look. The back of this jumpsuit has single welt pockets which are functional as well as ornamental, with its big decorative loops. Moreover, the buttonhole choices may be interchangeable, giving a different dimensional effect. As a child, I loved hiding and taking refuge in my grandma’s traditional Chinese pant legs. Which were very widely cut. Therefore, it only seemed natural for me to include a wider cut in this design, perhaps to enjoy that same nostalgic feeling of my childhood. CHEESEBURGER SPRING ROLLS Ingredients- 400- 500gm of beef mince 1 onion finely diced 2 cloves of garlic or 2 teaspoons of minced garlic 1/2 cup burger pickles dices 5 slices of hamburger cheese such as dairy lea or dairy works cheddar 1/3 cup of tomato sauce or passata 2 tablespoons of american mustard or hot English mustard Spring roll wrappers 1 egg Pinch of salt and pepper Oil to shallow fry ** you can add grated veggies mushrooms, spinach, carrot, zucchini *** METHOD- Fry garlic and onion until the onion is transparent. Add beef and brown Add pickles, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, mustard and cheese and mix through until the cheese is melted. (Add any extra veggies at this point) Take off the hotplate and allow to cool in the fridge for at least an hour. Defrost spring roll wrappers, put 2 papers down and add 2 tablespoons on mince (for small size wrappers) along the bottom corner. Fold over and tuck the ends add egg wash to the outer egde and pop aside. Repeat until all mixture is gone. I find a pack of 50 small wrappers makes 25 rolls the larger packs have 20 so you will make around 10. Shallow fry until golden brown. Serve with chutney, tomato sauce or aioli. I also like to wrap them in lettuce leaves to add to the crunch. Enjoy!!!! - @bodybewell on Instagram

SEDIH & MARAH!!! . Nyawa kita terancam. Kantong pun megap2. Akhirnya DKI PSBB & diperpanjang. Lantas warga DKI cari hiburan ke Bekasi & Tangerang.. . Sepedaan, lanjut tongkrongan kaki lima, pasar, cafe. Di toko furniture pun ngantre. Live musik di Cafe Bekasi mengerikan, konon sebagian pengunjung dari Jakarta. Ramai sekali & tanpa masker termasuk waiter nya.. . Amit2 ya kalian!!! Kaya gak ada hari esok aja. Emang mati gitu, kalau gak ngafe & live music? Yang punya cafe juga, demi kantong, bodo amat protokol.. Buat yang mau gowes atas nama kesehatan, sono gowes sendiri keliling komplek trus pulang. Ga usah ngumpul & nongkrong.. . Belum lagi tingkah pejabat yang bikin konser dangdut ribuan orang. Tak ada yang bisa mencegah. Akhirnya Kapolsek dicopot, Pak Mahfud minta konsernya dipidanakan, tapi sesudah terjadi kerumunan besar. Virus Covid yang terlanjur menyebar di hajatan itu tak bisa dicopot & dipidanakan.. . Mengapa yang berwenang tak bisa mencegah sebelum dimulai? Hasrat pesta nikahan tak tertahan. Kenapa duit nya tak dipakai buat bagi sembako gratis, buat warga menyambung hidup? Tulis nama penganten di kresek sembako. Pasti banyak yang mendoakan.. . Tidakkah pejabat yang terhormat merasa berdosa jika warganya terkena covid dari acara hajatan anda? Pejabat seharusnya ngasih contoh & menegakkan peraturan, menekan laju pertumbuhan covid, bukan malah semena mena melanggar.. . Belum lagi Pilkada yang akan jalan terus. Katanya maximal 50 orang boleh berkumpul. Ya gak adil dong. Resto & warung pecel lele aja harus tutup. Tak berlaku aturan max 50 orang.. . Iya aku tau, tak ada pemerintah manapun yang siap menghadapi covid. Tapi aku yakin 7 bulan adalah waktu yang cukup untuk belajar.. . Dan kita sebagai rakyat, tolong TAU DIRI. Pikirin nyawa. Kalau pergi karena kerja ya tak apa asal taat protokol. Tapi kalau demi jejingkrakan di cafe atau nongkrong after gowes? Segitu pentingnya eksis? . Sekali lagi: kalau kalian sakit gak nularin & mau mati silakan aja. Masalahnya kalau kalian kena covid tuh kalian bisa nularin orang & bisa bikin orang lain sakit & mati.. . Belum paham juga?????? .
